EricDrinkard 0 Report post Posted January 24, 2005 Here is a list of domains name extentions that are free http://www.cjb.net/ http://www.dot.tk/en/index.html?lang=en co.nr nic.biz.ly noip.com http://www.nic.st/ The cjb domains are instant and work like a real domain or you can use the forwarding system. nic.biz.ly yourname.biz.ly .tk uses ads and I don't like forced ads. .st I have never really used it so I don't know about it but I am going to try it. Thanks Eric Drinkard
NeXDesigns 0 Report post Posted January 24, 2005 I have tried cjb.net, i dont really like it that much, but that was a long time ago.tk, i have never tried but i dont like forced ads either. The other i havent tried, but i think if any i might try the st one.But for the time being i am going to stick with the Xisto.com one. i dont mind it, plus it shows who my host is. I wont change that until i get a regular .com.
Dooga 0 Report post Posted January 24, 2005 You forgot http://forums.xisto.com/no_longer_exists/ uni.cc does have quite a good redirection service... it DNS services sucks. It takes like 6 days for the domain to propergate and only takes cjb.net and no-ip.com 5 MINUTES to propergate...And right now, uni.cc doesn't even offer DNS service! It wants to so called upgrade it's servers...And what's the .st thing? That's not even a valid domain! I even googled it but it still doesn't work! Oh yah... you can get .net.tc and .net.tf redirections in a service... just search in google (I forgot the URL to the site...)~Dooga
Danieluchis 0 Report post Posted January 24, 2005 well cjb.net domain names are good but sometimes it make some computers to freeze well i think that the .COM .NET .ORG .NU names are the best.. u_u.. even if they cost you they're the best, once i found a page that would provide them it for free i dont remember well the name of the page but it was a .biz name, i think it was anyway does anyone know if the .biz names are free? The .st one sounds interesting, haven't seen it being used before.
karlo 0 Report post Posted January 24, 2005 Try out registering for a free domain at http://www.1dni.com/ They provide a very good service! I'm sure that you are going to love it!And also, .info domains that can change the NS is much more good that the cjb, uni.cc, etc domains.
Dooga 0 Report post Posted January 24, 2005 If you use the cjb DNS feature, you don't get any ads! That's because you're using a domain IP redirection! Unlike the redirection, you don't get any ads and the service provider can't put any ads (at least, that's what I think!). So finally, you can't go wrong with using cjb.net, even if I DO prefer uni.cc ~Dooga (he he)
cragllo 0 Report post Posted January 24, 2005 You can turn off the pop-up ads with the .tk domain, i got about 6 of them, got a few real ones now.

(loks more pro anyway)
Someone 0 Report post Posted January 25, 2005 It's cheap but it's to much for me I have registered cjb.net and I see that works fine, I haven't noticed that cjb.net have dns and I must say is really god but .tk is nicer and you can remove ads with no problems
m33 0 Report post Posted January 27, 2005 at 1dni.com you can get a free .info domain now (up to 25) don't know if it's still going, but it's worth the try....all you have to do is get a support account, and send an e-mail to some e-mail address to get a free #rin, use that #rin as your credit card number at the registration forum . Casanova 0 Report post Posted January 28, 2005 Do using any of these free domains cause pop-ups/ads to appear like when using .tk?
m33 0 Report post Posted January 28, 2005 not at all, at 1dni i just got a top level domain (only .info is free!) and it works fine!https://www.marcb.com/ will be the one i have hosted here, no content yet tho, but it works :Pfor one year its free, after that you should take a different domain, buy the .info domain, or just use a subdomain here at Xisto i have full control over the domain, including: my information, about admin etc, nameservers, dns-plus (whatever it is) and some more, works fine!.tk gives popups, but it's a short name, you can have anything.tk http://www.dot.tk/en/index.html?lang=en for more information. .net.tc - .net.tt - .us.tt and all those have probably pop-ups or banners.
