Gaming Is A Waste Of Time!

Recommended Posts

I have to disagree too. Games are a way of expressing your emotions like anger or whatever. Instead of killing your enemy you go kill your game enemies with great vengence. lol. Some games are educational. Although they may be boring but its not a waste of time. Oh and you get good eye coordination.

I disagree; gaming is like wine: it must be taken in moderation. If one sits inside and does nothing but absorb the glow of a monitor or TV, then he needs to take a walk and go hang out with members of the opposite sex. If one understands that such a thing must be done in moderation, and mixes a healthy but of gaming with other hobbies and interests (not including drugs or pornography), then he has discovered the true meaning of gaming: simply another pastime. You wouldn't say baseball had to go, would you?

i don't think gaming is a greater waste of time than watching tv or knitting. Even more, you can game with your friends so this activity could be quite social. ;) But i don't think you should exaggerate, it shouldn't be addictive...

If you have a life, go out often, but still play games i dont think ANYTHING is wrong with that. Its what games are for.. to HAVE fun not to say oh this is a waste of time.. On the other hand, if ALL you do is play and you dont go out places just to play the video games then i think its a problem.

There are strategy games that keep people thinking! Not all games are mindless killing and such. Yes, some people might spend to much time playing games, all i am saying is that i think 4 hours is more then enough time playing games in a day. Kids do need to go outside as well but hey if they cant cause it is cold, well then let them play games and enjoy it. Just my 2 cents.

i agree and disagree. half and half. you are right in some ways. there is more to life then just sitting down and playing video games all day. but it's good to take the stressful load of your back and relax and play some game once in an while.

Gaming is only a waste of time if you have something else that really needs doing.Gaming requires A LOT more brain activity than i.e. watching TV (this has been scientifically proven)Gaming is not an antisocial activity if you are playing with people you know in a LAN or over the InternetGaming can, in many cases, both stimilate your brain to work and be educational (I am norwegian, and almost all of my knowledge of the english language comes from my use of games and computers in general)That's my five cents anyway...

Everything that doesn't earn money (which gaming actually can) can be contrued as a waste of time. I feel anything that relieves stress cant be all that bad-OxideLeader of Breath of the Horde2nd Strongest Guild on the Horde SideWorld of WarcraftShattered Hand ServerHorde Side(Sorry we are currenly closed invite unless you have someone that is willing to sponsor you, send me a tell in game if you have any questions)? To Fear is to lose, and I don?t lose so why should I be afraid? ?oxide?Cleanliness is next to Godliness, so if you stink you?re the devil? ?someone?NO ONE MAKES ME BLEED MY OWN BLOOD?

Hello,Gaming is not a waste a time well I guess it depends on how much you game. I got to school from 6:30 till 2:35 then after school I have athletics till 5:00 then I come home and do my homework. So in my free time I do play video games and I don't think it is a waste of time. Now if you skip school to play video games or come home from school and play games till you go back to bed I think that is ridiculous. Wouln't that just get boring after a while? Now some games are just stupid and they don't teach you anything like cartoon games and crap. Now some games like war games teaches you how the army works and how they use the weapons and what it would be like if you were in the situation. So is gaming a waste of time? I guess it's just how you look at it.

I don't think Videogames are really a waste of time. They are great for when you have free time and you want to have some fun and just chill out, it's just like listening to music or watching a film. Some games even teach you interesting things, like about the military, and other such stuff. In the end, it is your own opinion, so you are entitled to it, but i can't help but disagree with you.

I respect your opinion on gaming and hence that is why we are the human race and allowed to have opinions. But I have to say I myself would rather do something with a game on the pc/ps2/xbox and or any other system because 99% of the time it is more stimulating then the crap they put on the babysitter now a days aka the television. The MMO's out there for PC's encourage interaction with out human beings and stimulate the mind and make you think about your actions as far as building a strategy. Some of the pc games like RTS's and such do the same. The web games from various sites may not encourage as much along those lines but are nice time killers while say chatting with friends on various messengers.I myself also have a life and play 3 different MMO's and looking forward to adding a 4th to the list when the release of dungeons and dragons online is released. To go out and deal with the public anymore is almost more of a pain then it is worth being that the population is becoming more increasingly overwhelmed with stupidity which irritates me to no end.Again though I find successful mind stimulation and social interaction with many people in the MMO's kind of fulfilling to an extent granted it isn't a physical interaction of flesh to flesh / face to face type of thing but it still creates an interaction that is beyond being ignored.Hope you can sometime find a way to change your views but again your entitled to your opinion.

There are lots of things that are considered a waste of time. Gaming being one of them. But if you look at it in the "intellectual" way (not the way I look at it, I play games just to have fun), you can learn from gaming. Games like Warcraft (I don't like it but my brother plays it all the time) or Age Of The Empires help you learning. Because since they're strategy games, you work your brain a lot. And in some games, again Age Of The Empires, you learn a little bit of history. I think I learned more playing that game than in 10 classes of history class. Honestly. I think it depends on the way you look at it. Of course you won't learn anything from PacMan... Or Quake 3 to say a game that's more of this time. But I'll tell you something about Quake 3: It brought me and my brother together. Not only that game, but all of multiplayer games and even some single player games. It's because we have this something to do together. And even if games don't bring you closer to your brother or make you enjoy history, I don't think there's anything wrong on doing something in your free time that you enjoy. But opinions are opinions and all the opinions have my respect :(
