Kurosaki Ichigo 0 Report post Posted October 8, 2006 Just like IPB which is given hosting by sites as invisionfree and invisionplus, Is there a site that gives you free V-Bulletin hosting ? And 1 question. Is the looks of V-Bulletin better that IPB ?
contor 0 Report post Posted October 8, 2006 I am sory to ruin your dream but there are no hosting with vbilletin:The reason for this is because it is not rentable to buy a full licence, becausethe cost is very expensive.
Plenoptic 0 Report post Posted October 8, 2006 I don't know about free hosting but you can get vbulletin with a free domain and webspace for $5 a month. Just go to this link https://www.siteground.com/vbulletin-hosting.htm It's pretty cheap and actually I think is a good deal. I would just recommend using a forum like PHPBB or MYBB. rldowling03 0 Report post Posted October 9, 2006 Oh please I wish you could get a version of VBulletin for free but it doesn't exist. Maybe one day in the future when Vbulletin company has made alot of money on it, maybe they will release one of their older version for free like Invision Power Board did, it is unlikely but it is possible and I hope that they do that so then i can switch.Besides that I would recommend PHPBB3 for when it comes out, if you aint seen it yet it is great, there is one on my site forums.ffusite.org and also phpbbhacks.com it has alot of great features that make it worth waiting for, or if your like me you dont wanna wait just use the Beta 2 version. Other than that i'd say the free Invision Power Board is the way to go besides PHPBB or you could try SMF.

Having an unlicense vBulletin board is illegal and Xisto hosting disallowed that... You need to purchase a license at http://www.vbulletin.com/You can go for others alternatives like phpBB which is a completely free forum which has most of the professional features and its the most widely use free forum today... Kubi 0 Report post Posted November 22, 2006 Any use of vB that is not lisenced is ILLEGAL and against the Xisto's TOS. If you are caught using this software your site will be removed from our service. If you wish to use this "illegal" software, please kindly move to a host that will tolerate this. Then again, we can do it the nice way and just purchase the lisence. It's only 85 bucks, or with IPB you can get it for 70.
sunsaan 0 Report post Posted November 22, 2006 (edited) i had lisence of it.ok then can i use phpbb without having its lisence? what about smf? Edited November 22, 2006 by sunsaan (see edit history)
Kubi 0 Report post Posted November 22, 2006 phpBB and SMF are freeware. Meaning you can download them on there official site, for free, legally. So, yes, you can use them without a "license". They're free. Infact, Xisto offers them preinstalled when you become hosted. If you become hosted(we'll need to work on your post quality a bit), you can go into you "Fantastico" and you'll see a large list of software to install for free. phpBB and SMF are apart of this list.Neither programs I would suggest, IPB or vB is well worth the 70-80 bucks they charge.
