roundball 0 Report post Posted July 6, 2006 What is the website you are asking about?Have you asked other people to test it out?Sometimes some countries will filter out specific web sites due to content. For example, large numbers of porn sites are filtered out in China.Perhaps there is some software on your computer preventing it from opening. What is the error you are receiving when trying to open? hulunes 0 Report post Posted July 6, 2006 umm...you'd better delete all info about that website including cookie and browsing record then visit by type site address.maybe the site close or ban your ip by mistake...good luck
fffanatics 0 Report post Posted July 6, 2006 Ok, here is how you would go about fixing this problem. You would first start by removing all Temporary Internet File and also remove all cookies. Then close your browser and reopen it. See if the page works. Then, if it still doesnt work, disable all firewalls, adaware protection, antivirus software, etc. to determine if those are the culpret. If the site still isnt accessible, try running an up to date virus protection or something like that cause it could just be a piece of software not letting you get there. Kioku 0 Report post Posted July 6, 2006 At least tell me what the website is, so I'd have a single clue as to why it's not working. Try enabling Java or cookies? Either that or if you have a proxy, turning it off? Perhaps they've reached their bandwith limit?
bakuryu 0 Report post Posted July 8, 2006 What exact error are you receiving ?Are you getting a page not found error ?I would start by cleaning all cookies and temporary internet files. Also clear your DNS cache.Start -> Run -> type ipconfig /flushdnsAlso check your Host file that the specific site is not perhaps accidentally blocked. A HijackThis log file will quickly analyze your internet settings and your host files.
Mich 0 Report post Posted July 8, 2006 Start -> Run -> type ipconfig /flushdns OK, I am not completely puter illiterate, but I have not run across this one before. What exactly is a DNS Cache?
Jimmy 0 Report post Posted July 8, 2006 Can you say what you did on the site just before it stopped working for you, say did you post anything on forume, or download an item from a list? It is most likely to be something on your computer as you would probably have to do something REALLY bad to get banned. The best possible solution would be to cleat cookies and temp. memory as the other guys said it is also worth trying a proxy: A free no-ads proxyWhat is this site to be certain??? - it is really hard for anyone to find the problem just by guessing all possible solutions if we don't know the site to be able to find out something about the way its working!good luck finding a solution
delivi 0 Report post Posted July 8, 2006 I hope that the Site dosent belong to HTTP. Check the preceeding part of the url if it shows anything other than HTTP and HTTPS, FTP like gopher:// then you need to configure your system with proxy server settings to view them in your browser. Moolkye 0 Report post Posted August 1, 2006 Yeah Norton will do that to ya. If you have Norton on your system, get rid of it, COMPLETELY. If you just get rid of portions of it, you will be unable to see certain sites.
