Anyone Know A Good Movie Maker?

Ok, well i want to make this little movie thing you see...i will be taking snippets *small clips* from a ccertin movie, and i have no clue how i will do that... so does anyone know of a good Movie Maker (besides windows movie maker) that will allot me to take the snippets from the movie..for instance, it lets me load up an entire movie into the program, and from that i can cut out the scenes i want...secondly, does anyone know of a movie maker, where i can combine these snippets to make one movie file? (besides windows movie maker)...for instance, i load all of the snippets i want in the movie that i am making into the program and order them how i want, and with the background musicthe program also has to let me add background music to these video clips..

Well, you can try Adobe Premiere. It does what you want. However, so does Windows Movie Maker .

i also think Adobe is better.. i played around with it at my school some but can't tell you what's better since its the only one i've seen.

I know some programs that could do the job. Here is the name but I don't know the sites that you could download them from, you could google a bit and I assume you'll find places to download:-ACD systemsvideomagic-MPEG splitterThese programs could the videos into small clips, same thing for audio and you could add audio to a video scene they aren't free but you have a free trial. I bought them and they are really handy.

Adobe premiere or Sony Vegas! I use adobe premiere and it has everything that you need! If you need small program with good performance try Virtual Dub

You could try using AVG Free to 're-record' the section of the movie you want as an .avi file. Its like a screen capture progrom but videos the specified area rather than take a snapshot. I believe its downloadable free from tucows.com.

I would say Adobe premier. It is the best app for movie editing, it does all that you want, but it is difficult app for pro. If you want app just for that movie use WMM if you want use app for more projects i say Adobe.

I use Vegas Movie Studio. It's a little more advanced but it's one of my favorites.As well:I-movie is very good for beginners, interediate and advanced. not a professional thoFinal Cut Pro is very good as well, it's more for your more advanced user.Adobe Premier is decent.

You should try Sony Vegas, you can find it with keygen or crack on torrent's (i think The Pirate Bay has it). And as iGuest said Movie Maker (the default Windows software) is the best choice for the begginers of movie editing/making.

I had normal windows movie maker on my old com but on this one I got windows live movie maker and its a total peice of ****, the other one would have a view of the clips scaled to how long they were and I could split them and combine and shorten and fade them into eachother but with this new bull**** all I get is ****ing thumbnails and I'm supposed to manually adjust time and I cant drag them or do anything its ****ing sucks I hate it

Windows Movie Maker does what you wanted to do above, but you mentioned that you didn't want to use it. So, I'm going to have to reccomend Adobe Premire, Sony Vegas 8, or Adobe After Effects. Premire does basic functions, such as snipping, adding backround music, creating captions and credits, excetera. Sony Vegas 8 does pretty much the same thing, except there are more advanced features, such as green-screening, color swapping, and a few basic particle effects. Adobe After effects is very advanced, and it can create complex movie effects, such as key'ed in explosions, green screening, gun muzzle flashes, and cool text effects and motion blur. There's a variety of stuff to choose from. I still think you should just start out with moviemaker, because it has all the basic functions that are nessesary to make a movie seem at least half-professional. Well there are quite a few out there one of the popular free ones is Microsoft Movie Maker that is totally rubbish though many people use it. I would recommend trying Adobe Premiere, Adobe After Effects or Camtasia Studio. All of these can be used for anything say you want to make a DVD to making a Decent High Quality Youtube video. Also check Youtube.com out for some reviews.
