michaelper22 0 Report post Posted May 12, 2006 (edited) Even though my school didn't ask me to do this, I made a site for them (no, I'm not hosting it for them, I made it and maintain it by myself). I made it with Mambo, and I might be migrating it to Joomla. I chose a nice clean template, and the logo in the header was designed by my school. The address is: http://forums.xisto.com/no_longer_exists/ Edited November 20, 2006 by michaelper22 (see edit history)

Plenoptic 0 Report post Posted May 13, 2006 Very nice site you got there. It looks very professional and smooth. I like the colors. Everything is easy to find using the navigation. The content fits in perfectly. You are pretty good, nice work.
Mich 0 Report post Posted May 13, 2006 Very nice site design. Modern and clean. The school should be proud of you. Do they even know you have a site up for them? My site designs are rather quaint in comparison, but then somebody has to cater to those who still like the old fashion.

My site designs are rather quaint in comparison, but then somebody has to cater to those who still like the old fashion. Â My school does know that I made the site (although they might have a tiny bit of objection toward having it, that's another issue). I used a template from TY2U.com, and modified it slightly (I changed the header image to one I made using pictures I took and put together using HP Image Zone Plus and The Gimp). Overall, I am proud of myself for making the site, and so is my dad. Does anyone have any comments on the CMSMS site?
biscuitrat 0 Report post Posted June 1, 2006 You can probably the top of the page down a little. Your eyes have to move up a bit to see the name of the site. I like the breadcrumbs and I like the gloss, but it looks like the whole thing is a template from a site and I'm not getting exactly what we're supposed to be complementing you on if you didn't make it. The CMS version, however, is pretty neatly done. There's not very much visual flair, but the accessibility is great. Keep it up
michaelper22 0 Report post Posted November 28, 2006 (edited) I should have posted about this earlier, but I slightly recently changed the template to something a bit neater (the old one had weird layout stuff). I think that this template is entirely CSS based (no tables!), and it has fewer images to slow down page loading (giving me room to add the random image module on the home page). Have a look through the gallery and comment on my picures if you like. For quick reference, the URL is http://forums.xisto.com/no_longer_exists/ Edited November 28, 2006 by michaelper22 (see edit history)

But no, I'm not getting paid for this; it's all strictly volunteer.Visitors (who are supposed to be both prospective and current students and parents) can register by clicking the link under the login form.I used to have a nice banner, with a pic of the school in it, until I switched templates. I like the new template more.
