School's Blocking System. Its not the smartest of things

They might be blocking wikipedia to keep students from acessing information that may not be correct. And now that you mentioned it, my school (once upon a time) would block any url containing teen, I found this amusing, so I made a eries of sites where all the pages were in a folder called teen.

so soes anyone got any idea to get rid of thos system and can play game and sulf internet as we usual do. how do i play online game to bypass the proxy setting ?

As far as my school blocking images.google.com, it doesn't block images.google.ca or any other domain names. Try it out on your guys' things too.

yeah your not the only one kid..our school blocks off so many sites on the internet...it sucks so much weve sometimes found ways to get to certain sites but once you get it and try they block that off also...even if you dont tell anyone and just do it yourself they also manage to find out and block it...it gets harder to find things to do on the internet here...its really a pain in the neck...it blocks off alot of good information that couldve been used for my work...i just think they OD with it way too much

School blocking systems are very simple... You can still visit any site using CGI proxy (anonymizer).

RMsafety net by any chance?We have it too, i can still find my way around it and keep my desperate mates happy with a nice supply of porno xD Games are easy to come by and downloading is easy so long as you know how! Our blocking system is idiot proof but once you get to know some exploits for it its pies easy to get round!

In my school the blocking system is way over the top. On the blocked page it states a category why it was blocked, and in there is anything from HUMOR to GAMES, and it even blocks Google UK and says it's a hacking site

My school blocks game ralated sites, email, and most non school related sites. It also blocked just about evry proxy site out there. Its pretty annoying but at least forums arnt banned here.

The filtering software makes it hard to even get legit work done at school. For example, you could be looking up interesting landforms for a geography project and find some interesting link, only to have it blocked for being "uncategorised".If students really wanted to play games or whatnot, they could easily bring stuff from home on a USB mass storage device..But then, if they had no filters at all, there would be panicking parents showing up at the admin office complaining about it. Filtered internet is still better than no internet at all. =/

You should see my school's internet - There's a certain word that allows any page! You simply need the word somewhere in the url and the page can be accessed :)The word is 'smith' by the way. But I doubt it would work for any other schools. (e.g. vtunnel.com?smith would make the website usable! Well you don't even need to use vtunnel at my school if you know the trick (which I independently discovered))

The school filter system here is so advanced! It blocks almost everything, even Proxy Avoidance. It really sucks because it evolves. They update it every now and then. Will someone post something that works?-reply by JackRuby

Replying to Blue LightningI agree that the school blocking system sucks, I'm a senior and I watched it take place when MSN was blokked. Now all games are blocked, if using google and typing games it will not allow any games found on that page to open, any hostile sites are blocked within days and sometimes hours. Freedom is not a part of school anymore.Going to school is like living in Japan everything is Sensored
