Recommended Posts

You can clear your temp file a number of ways!!
First way
1. Go to Start
2. Go to RUN

3. Type in temp, or TEMP, or Temp caps doesn't matter just as long as it says temp
4. Now if there is somthing there...then you should delete it..no harm will come to the computer.. if it gives you an error of this file is in use..then you cant delete it for now because the file is in use....
Second Way
1. Go To My Computer

No. i do not use IE..but from the looks of it that only clears the Temporary Internet files..which is a file that stores all of the images that you have seen on the web etc..

or you could also take another route that shows your cookies, recent docs, and any other temp file. C:/Documents and Settings/*your folder*/Local Settings/ then you can go to individual folders partaining to Temp files, Cookies, and whatnot, then you can Ctrl-A Del them all. the only harm that comes out of clearing your temp files is that everytime you log into a site, you have to retype your username and pass if you have it on auto-remember.. which doesnt really bother me one bit. :-D

there are many ways of doing this. its really not necessary to describe all of them since there is the easiest way to clear cache in cookies right from your web browser. although the way albus described is a decent way to do it.

how ever much you delete your temp files.. they will always be there and there will always be some sort of way to find them again, even if you've deleted them etc etc.. Which is annoying..since anybody can see what pages you'veseen. Anyways sometimes when you do this there may be errors or corrupted files or something or another... stupid computers trying to like outsmart us. :) Thanks for your contribution

You can also search for temporary files using the Microsoft windows search function, embedded in the Windows system.First of all, you have to load up the find button by clicking on the start button and then click on search.Once the search program loads up, you can click all files and folders. A new box will be shown, requesting for all or part of the filename of the file which you are searching for. In here, you can type *.tmp (with the asterisk). After this, you can click on the search button. Any file found here can be safely deleted, unless an error is shown saying it's read only. It's best to click no in this case, as you don't know whether a running program/application is dependent upon this temporary file.Hope this helps :)

yup, there are MANY ways to make the computer run fast, could be as easy as cleaning out temp folders to having to find a specific virius fix online because your virius scanner does not fix that type of virius it all just depends on what you do online hehe
