Unregistered 015 0 Report post Posted September 1, 2005 Here is my (still under consctruction) site:http://forums.xisto.com/no_longer_exists/Tell me what do you think. p.s. Its not English, but you could be able to judge looks of it
electriic ink 1 Report post Posted September 1, 2005 A CuteNews site, so it's cute news' code, so I can't really comment on that. The top banner's got a big white space in it. Is that reserved for advertisers? Seeing as you're not using it, it should be filled in with that green background colour.Your forums look good, perhaps download or write some skins which are similar to the current, main design. Unregistered 015 0 Report post Posted September 1, 2005 Forums are just temporary. I'm going to use somthing else there, but had to use that for latest forum script testing. I plan to make forums open in site when you click on forum, and right-side navigation then dissapears. Cutenews is... well it fits nice and the white space in banner is for flash animation or advert gif (not sure yet). I have to change the buttons on the newsletter, comments (for cutenews) and voting to be the same and to fit into look of the site. I hope this clears things out a bit.... Saint_Michael 3 Report post Posted September 1, 2005 well the only thing wrong with it that you should use a scroll bar with your info, or hot link it, cuz your footer image should be connected to the rest of the design, but other then that nice looking layout. sunny 0 Report post Posted September 1, 2005 Well, even if it is not is english, I can tell for sure that it is a cute news site :-)You are using a content management system (CMS). So what you want us to comment on; the CuteNews [ http://cutephp.com/ ] or the content you have posted on the site.If your answer is the 'content' then sorry my friend, I can't understand the content language. One more thiong thing, The site is still under consctruction. So, please complete it before sending in for a review.Any ways nice attempt.
Dragonfly 0 Report post Posted September 1, 2005 The overall design is cute much like Cutenews. Why Cutenews changed suddenly and started displaying the footer copyright in the latest version? Is it because WYSIWYG thingy? And allowed to be removed if registered only, but registration is nothing but paying some money - its a very clever move though. I prefer to click their ads than to pay them.... Getting back to your site, I think you should fill up the top banner space soon, but the empty space isn't any standard size of ad display... make is a standard, otherwise you have to manually resize every advertisements there. Your forum is nice too. YOu've worked hard on adding mods like latest topic or posts. My only wish is that Cutenews takes back the footer's thingy...
kitty 0 Report post Posted September 2, 2005 well,I think that you did a nice work to your site, it is very green I'm sorry but I don't like the green colour so much, but that is my problem not yours.I even understand the content of your site, serbian..Nice work.. Unregistered 015 0 Report post Posted September 2, 2005 Its's green becouse client requested so. And about "footer not being connected to other content", well, there is going to be some more content on the both sides so it should solve that. If you click on news page 3 you can see much better how is it going to look when there is no content in the middle or there is not enough of it. Thank you for your reviews. I'll post again when I finish this project.
Revolutionary. 0 Report post Posted September 2, 2005 For some reason it reminds me of mints, but that's besides the point. I like the layout a lot, but for another reason I'm not really in favor of the dotted border under each post.Still like it though, good job.
Dart-kun 0 Report post Posted September 2, 2005 Like everyone else noticed, it does seem to be a cutenews site, that isn't bad though, but alot of people dislike it.You may want to change to scroll bar (elevator as some call it) to match the same colour scheme.Overall its pretty good. On my site i dont like having things that other people made like cute news i made my own system that i only use for my site.

On my site i dont like having things that other people made like cute news i made my own system that i only use for my site. 182659[/snapback] I've already answered your first question (about white space). But (again) it is for flash animation that is not finished yet.And now on to second q... I use cutenews because it gets the job done much faster, and it would require me quite some time to write it from scratch (I can see no point in that). Why would I invent something that is already there (and free)? It is enough to just modify the existing stuff. I used to write newsletter script some time ago for some site and it took me a month to write it (I was pretty much of a noob back there) and it didnt came out as I wanted it to be. That is when I decided to modify existing stuff insted. And about making ''system to use on my site'', well, it is a nice idea, but I'm not sure if it is going to fit into every site I create. I create sites comercially and customers sometimes have strange requirements, so I usually look for similar stuff on net and modify it
fffanatics 0 Report post Posted September 7, 2005 I really like the colors and the layout. They are complementary and have a very unique feel. The news section has a good but not distracting divider (the ----) and everything seems to fit well. I just would like to say the heading image needs some work cause it has a white spot and it is kind of boring. Overall, good site
