Mp3 Players? iPod / Creative Zen / others?

Recommended Posts

:D I'm being dragged into the 21st century, by my need of carrying more music around.. currently I have a mini disc, it's cool and all, but I'm limited with the amount of musik I can carry around. So, my birthday is coming up.. and I'm planning on getting a mp3 player. I just need to figure out which one.. so far I think either Creative Zen or iPod.. The iPod mini looks really cool, but 4 gigs isn't enough for me.. ( I have a lot of music) so I'm thinking about iPod 20's, is the battery still as bad as people used to complain about? Are they better than Creative Zen's?Any idea's on either would be good. Trying to find good unbiased information is hard.. >_> since.. Creative and Apple seem to have large number of fans.Yes, the creative holds more different types of formats and is a radio.. but.. I can live with out these, as the majority of radio isn't actually any good in ireland.

i myself would not get a mp3 player with so huge drive .. the reason is that i dont use up that much .. even my 512 mb is much more that enough for me .. yes .. i do have a lot of music files on my computer .. but i do not transfer all of them to my mp3 player ... you wouldnt have to time to listen to every one of them ... and the second reason is that it's hard to find a specific song in that large amount of files .. so i only transfer those songs that i like the most at that moment ...

I think an iPod would be best. If you have a lot of music, and plan on getting more for the future, a 40 GB one would be a really good idea.

Battery life has improved as well; in fact, it improved over the span of our tests, initially lasting a little more than nine and a half hours, but eventually holding for slightly less than 12 hours (as advertised) as we were wrapping up our testing.

+ An apple a day: An improved interface, better battery life, and smaller size than previous models.

i have a creative 20GB, bought it on a whim at a duty free, and so far i've been happy with it. the battery doesn't last as long as advertised, but it gets through at least 12 hours. --- i haven't tried it for longer periods. i don't know about the ipod as i'm not any srt of mac fan, but the zen touch uses a hard drive instead of flash memory, so if the ipod used flash, that would be a point in favor.

I bought a Creative and I like it a lot. Mine is a 30gb model. I got it on sale for 190$, so it was a deal. Creative's players have a better sound quality than the iPod's and most anything else for the matter. The only reason that I don't like the iPod's is that they don't support WMA media format. I really don't want to change all of my files and lose some sound quality in the process, so the iPod wasn't worth it for me. But if you have yours in a format that the iPod's accept I suggest finding a person or a store where you can try both of them out to see which one you like better.

Why do so many people have WMA's, I personally, think Wma's are of lower sound quality than mp3, anyway, I am getting an iPod.I do have quite a lot of music, though, I also think, I more than able to sort out a quick play list of albums to take with me places.. I will probably buy this mythical 4th generation iPod when it is released, people are saying it will play games;.. be a phone.. be wireless.. :D some guy tried to say it flies in the air.. these all seem rather bizare.. >_>; Also, I like the iPod mini's size.. :P >_>

I have a Sony NW-E99 and it's great. It's small and holds up to 1GB of music. The great thing about this is that it uses AAA batteries, so it's easy to change the batteries, instead of going to have them changed by 'a specialist'. I've had it for about a year and went skiing with it in Austria, hasn't failed me once!

Well It Really Depends On How Much Money Your Getting, If You Getting A Little Bit Of Money I Reccomend You Get Something With 25MB-1GB, Those Are Really Cheap Now, But If You Get Alot Of Money You Should Get A 3-6GB Ipod, Or Get The Zen Micro (US$179.99) "Creative Muvo" Its Pretty Cheap Comes With A Gig(US$100.00). So You Have Alot Of Options With MP3 Players, And I Hope You Pick The Right One.Thanks,Ilimanation

well i got an RCA Lyra. with 64mb and you can add more space witdh a media card ^^U yes i know 64mb it's not too much space but it cost me like USD $70 >_> so for me was cheap, anyways i recommend you to buy a 1-2gb device if your only going to use it as mp3 player or else if your gonna use it as an external Hard Disk, then i'll chose the iPod =)

Hey, I got an mp3 player for christmas (don't remember what it was called), and whenever I was at the menus, there was this little sound in the background that you could hear. So, I said ok, I'll return it. Next day, I go to the store, and try another one, it makes the sound too, I tell one of the people at the store, and they say "yeah that line is defective, sorry". So I tried another one (different make), and it was defective too (don't remeber what happened), so here I am now, six days into July, and I still don't have a stupid mp3 player. I also have a school graduation trip coming in two days, with atleast a 3 hour drive to a place called Bark Lake. So I guess I won't have an mp3 player until after, which sucks. Atleast now for the same money I can get a 512mb instead of a 256mb mp3 player.

iPod and Creative zen is not enough for me, I have a huge collections of MP3 musics, lately I just purchased another hardisk 80gb for my MP3 collections only. I like mp3 player but putting all my music doesn't fit. What I need is 80gb mp3 player, is there any player now as big as 80gb? Well if there is maybe I could save some of my allowance to buy... I know there is 40gb mp3 player in the market, and that's what I want to buy maybe for now, but if somebody knows 80gb mp3 player maybe I should prioritize that one. anyway is there any brand of MP3 player aside from creative and iPOD????

Well MP3 players are great for few things.- First no music videos :P- Second doesn't hold that much music you want (All The Time!)- Third when you get it you do not know even how to work it.Whats good about it is you can lissen to your taste of music wherever you want. Now about the MP4 players lets wait on that a bit for a other day okay? :D LOL
