Yiah 0 Report post Posted November 17, 2008 PHPBB simpler to use and easier to integrate with your website. 1000s of themes available and now PHPBB3 (under development) you have many features which you get mostly in paid BB softwares.so PHPBB is the best. if you want a hosted PhpBB3 forum: free forum hosting
Crowe 0 Report post Posted November 17, 2008 SMF and Phpbb are two very good ones. They are both free to download, and are quite nice to use. They both have support sites, and excellent moddings sites too. But if you are looking for a paid forum, then Vbulletin or IPB are great choices. Most people that I have seen with hosted forums use IPB 1.3, and it is a good choice for starters--it is the same software that is used for Invision Free, and I think IPBfree. You can customize it a lot with out worrying too much about it--and there are many skins and mods for it as well.Hopefully that helps some.
Spyda 0 Report post Posted November 17, 2008 I want to create a forum after getting a host on this site, but i cant find a propper program for it.Also i want to know how to have polls and other stuff on the side.P0ZzZ! Notice from moonwitch: Post moved to the right section Well I know that many people have probably already replied to this thread, but i think I'm going to give you some insider tricks (LOL yeah I said insider) on getting yourself a forum up and running.First off you need something called a host. A host is someone who supplies you the tools, and resources to get yourself a website up and running. SOme hosts charge money, while other hosts like Xisto******, offer a free genuine 100% service at no costs to you, other then spending time and posting on their forums. So once you get the hosting aspect all figured out, then you have to come to the conclusion of learning how to work the control panel that accompanies the hosting that you are getting. For example, let's say you do go with Xisto, they have a control panel called Cpanel (how nifty is that?) which controls all the files you have attached to your hosting account. Now, once you get a small grip on that, then you can go ahead and install some forum software. Now, inside of Cpanel there is something called fanatastico that hosts programs for forums, such as phpbb.com, and SMF. Now, if you want a more variety of forum software, you can try mybb, or just search Google for anythign that might spark your interest.Well I hope that helps you soemwhat

iGuest 3 Report post Posted March 13, 2010 Protect Your Phone Investment with Phone InsuranceHow To Create A Forum? Many people do not know how to function for a minute without their mobile phone. But this can become an unwanted reality for those who do not carry mobile phone insurance. If you do not have phone insurance, you will have to pay full price for a new phone. If you cannot afford to purchase a new phone, then you will have to cancel your service with your phone carrier. This would mean having to pay an early termination fee. Between the cost of a new phone and the termination fee, you could easily be looking at ?500 or more. This is more money than the average person can afford to part with. You can protect your phone with a phone insurance policy that will cover you in the event of a loss. The cost of phone insurance can be less than ?2.50 per month, making it a much more affordable alternative than paying regular price for a new phone. Many networks can add this charge to your bill, just as you add texting and internet access. You will then receive one bill for all of your phone services. But be aware that often independent specialist phone insurance providers can give you a better rate and more specialist cover. A mobile phone is regarded by many, to be a vital part of a person's life. Many individuals cannot go a day without making a phone call, checking email, texting, listening to music, downloading a ringtone or surfing the Internet. With phone insurance, you can rest assured knowing that you will not have to go long without your phone. If you do suffer a loss, you will simply need to contact your insurance carrier to file a claim, pay any applicable excess fee, and then you'll receive the repair or replacement that you need. Phone insurance is just as important as car or home insurance. It protects the investment you have made in an item that you feel is invaluable and will be hard to replace on your own. By purchasing an insurance policy, you will be able to significantly reduce the cost of repairing or replacing the item. This is why mobile phone insurance is necessary. You will be able to save time and money, as well as reduce your stress, when you have phone insurance .It can provide you with the protection that you need when your phone is damaged or stolen. It is a small cost to have when compared to the large bill you will face in the event of a loss. -reply by michel
