I'm with you Mysterio, Google is clearly the best search engine, it has the most relevent results, and ranks them in n appropriate level of relevence I alos think it has the best other features aswel i.e. g-mail and such like. I do however think that it can often be worth trying out more than one search engine in order to find the best results, this however does not condone the use of MSN, which in my opinion could not search its way out of paper bag (and other cliched metaphores to that extent). Quick summery... Google = best , MSN = what that's a search engine?

I would pair Google and Yahoo as best ones... quite strange though that they DON'T show the same pages... I don't know if u guys ever tried this experience. Search something with Google, then search the same string with Yahoo and see the results. Often Yahoo grabs pages that Google slides over, and vice versa... quite annoying sometimes!

I think google is better, b/c as far as i know it has a pretty big database, and the first engine i thought about submiting my site to was google. So im thinking people would think the same thing.

same here, they are the best search engine in the world record 2004. Google is diffrent from many search engine, unlike many others they put banners around the result or you have to wait years to get the result. Also google has other features such as calculator, dictionary and satellite map( this only works in US and canada at this moment.)

I think Google is the best. Hands down. What I like best about it is the built in features such as Weather, Calculator, Dictionary, Movies, File types, and many others. I find these to be useful and time saving.

i always use google too. It has the biggest site database and does its job very well.Though i'm not so sure when it comes to relevance of sites keywords.Search engines show different results when using the same string to search because they all have a different ranking algorithms. So if i do a search in google for "dan-spot" in google my site shows in like the 5th place though the first result shows as my Xisto topic asking for a review of my site. That's because Xisto has more good links and more content than my own website, and google ranking is mainly that: link popularity and content.Though if i write the same string "dan-spot" in yahoo, the first 2 results will be my forum and my website. :rolleyes:So what really matters is the algorithms thats behind all search engines (think that as the kernel of search engines.)So what really matters nowdays is really good content and good links.

I use Google for everyday searches but use an engline called Teoma for any more specialised searches, as you can read more of the page and get more information just from the results screen. Googles features such as the calculator, especially the conversions, are very useful.I use AltaVista for images as there are more customisable searches, such as specifying size and colours. This can come in very handy that trawling through pages of useless results.I do not use Yahoo or AOL as they are far too slow and are full of adverts and the results are often out of date or totally unrelated. Its Google and Teoma mainly though. Its interesting to see just how many people use Google over anything else.

Hmmm....that's an easy question GOOGLE. Funnily enough I searched for the google search engine using Yahoo and even more funnily enough no results came up and I got a pop up saying that the google search engine no longer exists and that I'll just have to continue using Yahoo...and that I had to tell all of my freinds and relatives.Stuborn yahoo. From Me

Personally I use google 90% of the time. I however do like yahoo & msn very much because they list my site as #1 for my keywords (so does google). Gotta love that! I must say that 90% of my traffic also comes from google, then yahoo, then msn and an occasional aol, teoma or alta vista. But unfortunately it looks like yahoo & google have deteriorated into a "my index is bigger than YOUR index" battle & we are losing the most important thing - relevance. I don't care how many stupid sites you have indexed if half of them are just the same old stuff repeated again and again. Even the descriptions that google spits out for preview are the same thing over & over. I will go 5+ pages into a "search" just trying to find something RELEVANT to what I am looking for. Many times in searching I use the "quotes" to limit the number of sites it brings up.And I almost never click on any ads from the "sponsored links" section, even though I myself use adwords for my own site. :) Since they are very targeted & localized keywords, it doesn't cost me much, about $10 per month.I love googles "image" search option, I scan the web for ideas of products I can add to my business.
