  1. Do you get by any chance annoying windows message in the tray - "IP error has occured within the network" or something like that?Because if yes - I will explain what is happening and what is the solution for this specificc problem. This problem is caused by router that sometimes changes ips of computers withing the network. I'm not sure what causes it to do so, but maybe some errors or crashes. Anyways whats happening is you get two identical ips on the same network, windows is not able to deal with this problem and it shut downs one connection. So, basically you get disconnected. After restart - system reinitializes ips and verything works, untill another error occurs. My solution, which is extremely easy was to change the ip manually to something out of standard range. So, basically you have to configure the ip of your computer "by hands" = not by dynamic system. You can still try to ip config /release and ipconfig /renew it cople of times, but there is no warranty that the error will not come back.
  2. Here are some suggestions about what you should try to do:1. Check if your connection is using at least 256bit encoding (mine does and now no one can even think of taking my internet) - besides havent noticed any speed decrease.2. Programs that you have listed are not "so" liked by many providers, which might cause them simply to block any ports related to them. And the fact that they still work is maybe due to other protocols that they use and not necessarily the whole thing will get blocked.3. Check your firewall settings, in some routers there special features of protection that might greately decrease performace.4. Check if your bandwidth quota is not limited automatically.5. Find QoS packet and bandwidth settings through gpedit.msc and look if the reserved bandwidth is at 0 6. Try changing ips withing your lan - sometimes it happens that router get faulty built in software and it has bugs with some ranges of ips.7. Test your LAN cards and other equipment, maybe the problem is not even in the router (happened to me once - lan card died and was lagging whole LAN)8. Check your system for any types of spyware or viruses - they can actually affect your speed greately and take a lot of bandwidth.9. Never use any connection speeding up software - it might make some changes you have no access to, and sometimes those programs are not campatible with some types of routers.
  3. My page http://www.hugedomains.com/domain_profile.cfm?d=gridadvertiser&e=com got suspended, but I still have 0.66 days. What is going on?
  4. I've been using motorola and I pretty much like it. Some of the pros:Nice designGood qualitySound is crisp and highCons:High priceVery limited built-in memory (I absolutely hate this about motorola)Not too many optionsFor the most functional cell phone brand, I would choose samsung. For example their revolutionary D500 is just the thing combining all your needs at highest level.
  5. I believe you can get a water cooled version of xbox 360. Its a bit more expensive but still its worth it. I've heard from a person that got it - its very quite and you wont have any problems with the system itself - pump is well-done + very efficient.

    F.e.a.r

Yea, Ive seen the whole game running on a very solid computer, but I'm not sure if my system can hadle the game even at low settings. It also has some amazing lighting and sparks features. P.S my pc: AMD 2000+, 1Gb Ram, GrForce 4200Ti
  7. Probably computer will be a single unit with no pieces. One major processor will be dealing with all sorts of calculations - from graphics to threads, and other processes. Between whoever was talking about seeing 2Gb of video memory in the near future is kind of wrond. Have you noticed that regular SLi can consist from 2 1Gb 7800GTX graphics cards which are already in stock? And the total will be 2Gb (1+1GB). Plus I've recently seen a commercial from dell talking about some quattro or something like that system that will be able to combine power of 4 graphics cards, which can give you in total up to 4Gbs of video memry. So, what many of you guys think as of the future, became reality long time ago, but we just don't know much about it. As a good example many of you probably've heard of SLi not so long ago (like maybe up to a year), but the technology SLi has been developed many years ago, maybe like 96/97 when famous for that time voodoo 3DFX started development of the system that supported multiple graphics cards. I've actually seen pictures with like 8-10 graphics cards in a motherboard. But probably because of the financial problems and other needs 3DFX sold the idea to NVidia and now it is what we know SLi.
  8. I play competitive counter-strike and I dont recognize the consoles. You cant really have the same control over the game on the console as you do on a pc. But the game itself is amazing, unique and big time addicteive. I started playing it 5 years ago and it still rises adrenaline level in my blood when I play it.
  9. Gateway has some really nice deals on their laptops. Like for example I've sen one laptop AMD 64 3700+, 1Gb ram for $1098 CA. Which is amazing to me - I've seen plaenty of good deals but gateway is unbeatable. Plus their design is not as bad now s it used to be, I even like it
  10. And what are you trying to say by that?
  11. Thats weird but I've met couple of download managers that somehow were able to keep my 128Kb/s inet on 256Kb/s level. For some reason speed was higher when using this program plus it was more stable and trust me it had nothing to do with technical part of my isp at that moment.
  12. What i've just noticed, NFS MW is now more campatible with different graphics cards. I had so much trouble playing the earlier version - NFS Underground 2, oon fully update NVidia official detonator drivers 81.xx and my Geforce 4 4200 128mb i was getting squared picture. Moreover my fps on low settings was like 10 which is unbelievable on a system with 1.7GHz processor, 1Gb ram and decent Gf4 graphics card!
  13. If you want a really interesting warld war game - try Brothers in Arms. It is very exciting and has interesting plot. A bit laggy on medium computers and graphics are decent.
  14. When you start playing the game, its plot gets you so deep inside you just cant stop. Especially those scenese where you get under effect some drugs and dream, is just incredible. I enjoyed that part so much. I beat the game about six years ago and still have good memories about it. I would recommend it to everyone.
  15. I've beat the game for the second time already and still loving it. Graphics are pretty good, physics are detailed and pretty realistic. The timeline and the plot was just amazing. I was enjoying every minute of playing that game. Hopefully they will release the Aftermath soon
  16. About 2 years ago I first heard of that game that has been developing by Ukrainian team GSC Gameworld. STALKER The Shadow of Chernobyl takes place in the area of radioactive city Chernobyl (for those who dont know there was a huge atomic reactor explosion in that city). I've heard that the game was supposed to be released this summer but something happened and not a word about the game anymore. I've also heard that because of the lack of the time GSC has signed a contract with Valve to use their Source Engine in the game. So, this will shorten the time for the game to be released. If anyone has some fresh info about Stalker - could you please share, post any links.
  17. I would say everything depends on the use of that. Nowadays streaming video as communication can fully load even a gigabit channel, so it makes a lot of sense to start using it in places it fits.
  18. You will definitely need some special harddrive, because vibrations might damage to the magnetic discs inside the harddrive so, think twice before doing it all by yourself.
  19. Lets put it this way, to play half-life 2 and Counter-Strike Source smoothly you don't need a lot, but term "smoothly" can me be sort of different in understanding of different people. For example in terms of human eyesight, 30 Frames per second is the best framerate, and anything higher than that will not be noticed, but will be accepted as 30 FPS. In reality though most of the gamers require 60+ fps to make sure the game looks perfect without a hitch. In CPL and other professional gaming leagues they usually require 100 not more not less. So, here is couple of configs that will run the game with 60FPS at high quality:Intel Based:Pentium 4 3GHz1Gb RamATi x800 or Nvidia GeForce 6600GTAMD Based:AMD 64 3000+1Gb RamATi x800 or Nvidia GeForce 6600GT
  20. I would recommend you Anim Fx. This is the easiest solution you can possibly get. It is based on flash animations but in this program you don't have to draw everything by yourself - there is an already created preset of sample animations. There is a whole variety of nice looking effects in there, and you can choose appropriate size and text colour. In a word it is some sort of animation generator.
  21. About 32Gb of disk space... No and again no. This is not going to happen, as I read on microsoft web site, Vista is going to be a more Powerfull and stable OS. Disk space has nothing to do with that and if your friend really said that - most likely its his childish fantasy. Windows Vista will not take more than 2Gbs of disk space and who would ever need an OS that will require that much space and moreover that much ram. Think that way, if Microsoft wants to make big money by selling the new version of windows how many people would effert to upgrade or already have at least 80Gb harddrives and 1.5Gb of ram? - exactly, only limited number, so I think that Vista will be more or less like windows xp and people with 256Mb ram 1Ghz processors will be just fine. Thats my personal opinion no offense to others.
  22. Firefox has some serious issues with processor loading. When I run Adobe Photoshop CS2 9.0 and firefox at the same time - my cpu loads to 99% and you can't do anything in photoshop - just freezes from time to time. I tried Opera Internet Explorer and many other browsers - nothing like that, just with firefox. Other than that - everything is done pretty good in firefox, no other cons.
  23. Out of laptop brands I would prefer ASUS, Toshiba or Gateway. Here are couple of reasons:For ASUS: High quality, awesome design, usually slim and lightcons: a bit too expensiveFor Toshiba: High quality, good design, decent price on high specscons: some models are pretty expensiveFor Gateway: Highest level of hardware for the price, good quality cons: a bit oldish design
  24. I played the game couple of days ago in my friends house and he almost beat the game - Mercedes, and Porsche are mad fast. I'm loving the motion blur and police in that game, thats exactly what Need for speed underground was lacking.
