  1. Hehe it's been a while since this topic started and that means that any suggestion I give is useless considering it's been 5 years since the topic starter was curious about what game to buy , there were probabily thousands of car racing games released during this period.Over the years I've tried a few games of this kind but after Carbon , my pc (for that period) could not support the new versions of NFS (let's face it NFS is the best Car Racing Games BRAND).I started my NFS journey all the way back to NFS 1 when it was launched and used to play it on a K-5 133 Mhz procesor , 1 MB video card si 8 MB Ram (later upgraded to 32 in order to play Quake ).. those were the good days ). Also I remember about NFS 2 that had multiplayer option to play on the same PC with SplitScreen.. mann that game made me and my brother lose alot of nights just playing , always wining and trying to beat the best time! After then that no NFS really "caught" me until UNDERGROUND got out , it was another revolution in racing games for me , with good graphics for it's time , car tuning abilities and the other cool things about it that everyone knows!.After that I tried Underground 2 and yes it was great too but the fact that it used to frame alot made me give up the game and for that I didn't even try NFS Carbon until I changed my PC!.In my Opinion the best Racing Game of all times will be NFS Underground!!! No doubt. When it was on the market everyone was playing it , talking about new achievements etc....
  2. I've heard about this kinds of programs and it made me curious. so i tried the VMWare out of curiosity and also to play with a second account on Mu. Online (the mmporg ) but sadly it didn't work. Other then that the Virtual Server was working great , I remember installing windows XP on it and it was all , just a little bit slower than my normal pc but that's absolutelly normal considering that I was practically having two Windows runing on the same time ..VIsta on the normal PC and XP on the virtual One.It's a usefull program for safety reasons and other things on the internet , like hosting a website , game server , etc.
  3. @k_nitn_rI Changed my car from the previous post , the Vauxhall Astra is beeing driven these days by my brother. I got a Opel Astra G 1.6 16V 101 CP , stock , 16' rims. Since you asked me about any problems with it , with the last one I had two major ones but both got fixed with a small investement. First time there was a problem with the engine ECU , a new one costs about 1100Euros if ordered from Germany. Luckily I found a cheaper solution on the internet. I stumbled across a website of some guy who reconditions auto parts , especially opel parts. This was perfect since the ECU was made by Opel .. and through this method I just spent 90 Euros to repair the ECU.With the curent Opel I haven't had any problems so far after 6000 KM. (The car has about 110.000 I think and it's a 2002 Coupe).Probabily the KM are not real but the car sure acts and looks like a new one. Hope things will just keep staying like this and no serious problems will apear in the future. From what I've seen on the internet Opel maintanance shouldn't be that expensive , but when you start looking at actual prices of body parts you find out that nothing is as cheap as most people say!
  4. This topic title is probabily one of my worst nightmares , it's the kind of thing that I would't wish not even to my enemies. I've had my drivers license for over two years and thank god I've never been in this kind of situation.I've heard about people on a local forum oriented to Astra G vehicles that some people had the missfortune to have their steering wheel block during driving , that's another one of the horrible things , I can't imagine how would I react in that kind of situation. In the case of No breaks , the Hand Break and Engine Break (shifting in lower gear) are always a good way , and why not , if the road you're driving is wide enough , doing some side to side driving also is very usefull in decreasing the speed of your vehicle.A problem that maybe alot of drivers had , the ones that drive vehicles with Assisted Breaking is that during driving sometimes the engine CAN stop because of a malfunction and that means that both assisted breaking and assisted steering stop working. That's a very dangerous thing that can take anyone by surprise. This unfortunetely happened to me becase of a small engine problem but luckily the car just got harded to steer and A LOT harder to break , but it was stil controlable. The main ideea is to try to stay calm and think about your options in that moment. Have to take every decision corectly and think about the order to proceed. For example , try everything BUT the handbreak , keep that as an extreme measure , start by decreasing your speed by shifting in a lower gear and if any other car is in front of you , signal it by horn or headlights , either way , make sure other drivers understand that there's a problem with you beeing around ).Stay Safe!! and Don't drink and drive! Just Smoke and Fly..
  5. Who wouldn't like to get rich that easily? As some of you said in this topic , think about Frank Abagnale .. he got so famous that even Leonardo Di Caprio Played his role in a movie! It's a way to risky business to get involved in and I don't think that a few years of happines could compete with a few years in a JAIL!. I have "friend" , or better say.. a person I know who got caught because of a mistake the police did. He bought a mobile phone from a person and that person gave him false Euros , of course without him knowing it. Everything was ok , no one knew anything until the cops showed up at his door , saying that he's arested beeing acused that he's apart of a money printing group. If you think about it this is the easiest and theoreticaly the fastest way to make money , but it's only a mather of time before you get caught!Maybe if you work a few years for the National Bank in your country and find out how REAL money get made MAYBE you could try to make them on your own and hopefully , doing such a good job that no one could realise it , at least until you leave the country ).Anyway , the smartest thing is to try and make money on other ways , more ..legal ways.
  6. Every big discovery starts with a small step. I think that saying is suitable here too , even if it doesnt do much of the Linux functions , it's just a mather of time before this software developing company releases more and more comprehensive updates which will enhance the posibilities of using Linux on a mobile phone like the iPhone. And since we're on to this.. iPhone is probabily just the first step , if we think about it , the harware of the Apple iPhone is not so diferent from it's competitors (Like Samsung Galaxy S) and so , that means that in the near future as the techonoly keeps evolving , we might see Linux beeing used on more then just one type of handset. At the rate technology evolves these days I wouldn't be surprised to see Windows XP or Vista on some new tablet. Things just keep getting better and better , the only problem are the money to buy these new gadgets.
  7. I'm from Romania too and I'm almost proud about it ).I'm sad to see that this topic dedicated to a whole country ended up on one of the back pages of the Regional Section. We should make a suggestion about creating a section in this forum or at least change the rulles so that everyone can speak their native language on the dedicated regional section/topic!Who's with me ?
  8. English in my case , just as many people around here is my second language. I've been "confrunting" myself with it since I was in kindergarden.. ) and been evolving my skills ever since. I had the pleasure to visit U.K a few months ago and I was surprised how beautiful their accent was , not as the normal American accent we see everyday in the movies. Their accent makes them seem very smart (very nice people though , talking to them is always a pleasure).I'm curious about what native English speakers think about of our way of expressing ourselfs in their language and wether we sound funny , weird or some other way.A contest would be interesting where each contestant could write a story or something like that , in English of course , others could vote and we could find our most fluent non-english , english speaker )Since this is a huge comunity it could get pretty fun.Edit: I'm from Romania , I forgot to mention.
  9. There are several easy ways to edit your Windows Start Up. The most user-friendly and that any one can do is to use a third party software. I prefer Tune Up Utilities (it's shareware - 30 days try out). Not only for Windows Start up but it has many features for the maintainance of your PC like reg clean up , clean unecesary files , defragmentation ,s candisk , scheduled maintainance , etc.You should try it , it's very usefull.
  10. I can't belive they could ask for a million dollar from a Romanian Firm. I mean.. I live here too and I know what a million dollars is for a regular firm!.That amount of money is huge no mather who we're talking about but especially for a normal everyday company.Anyway , as long as they don't come and search our homes for "ilegal" softwares I guess we'll be fine. The problem is not the users , it's the Distributers. In relatively poor countries it's normal for people to get something for free rather then paying for it , first of all because normally they can't afford to pay 100$ for a windows license (it's just an example I don't know how much it really costs) when the minimum wage is about 180-200$ , who could spent half a salary on a software?RO: Despre ce firma e vorba ?
  11. Adsense is not a safe business everyone knows that , if not , they should.3 Years ago I found about this "prgram" everyone was trying it , people were talking about it and I tought to give it a try. After making a few failed wordpress blogs (the .com version.. newbie me..) I tried BlogSpot and also added Adsense Ads. Things were going terrible in the begining but slowly I started gathering more and more every month. The first months were like 1-10 but in time , more specifically the last two months I made 900$. Yep , 900 in two months , 300+600.. but after that everything got ruined after Google deciding that my account should be terminated because some of my clicks were... how they call it "invalid". Of course I got the same old e-mail about how the activity on my site is risky for their advertisers.. etc etc. After trying to explain them that I can't control the activity of my visitors they're decision was not changed and I ended up with another 800$ that got lost.. these last money were already earned and waiting to be sent but Google decided to ban me before sending , of course. Life goes on it's no problem , in time I might try again , this is actually a good way to make money especially for young webmasters with no other income. I was 18 when I had my first Check from adsense , that's something not many people can say.The hardest thing for succeding in this business is probabily power of will and patience. Many times it seemes like forever from the moment you make you adsense account and the first pay day , mainly because they pay this month's earning at the end of next month. Once you start earning regulary month after month this is no longer a problem but in the begining it's a test designed to test your patience.Even though I didn't get my last check and I would have every reason to be angry with them I still think Google is the best in this domain and that's why so many people want to work with them.
  12. A few weeks ago I was one of Mozilla's biggest fans but since I tried the last version of Opera I'm thinking of giving up the old firefox... I installed an addon for the fox with some themes and another plug-in that automatically loads the next page that worked good at the time but after a while mozilla started going really slow , using 50% of my processor (which is 100% of one of my Core's) and sometimes more then 800 MB of RAM .. at least that's what the Windows Processes Menu showed me , the only solution was to delete the proces and start the firefox again.. which was annoying considering that it could force me to close while in the middle of some important work. I tried reinstalling it but it was useless..same problems. After a little research on the web I found a little trick using Mozila Firefox Profile Manager.. if you'll google it you'll find more about this.... it practically succedes where Reinstalling the whole application fails. Even so , after changing profile , at least in my case..I still felt like it was time for a change. I gave Google Chrome a chance and it actually wasn't that bad ... but still not impressive. Now , after trying Opera everything changed , everything loads so fast and surfing the net is so smooth , no excesive RAM used , also the procesor doesn't go over 25-30%.. so one word , EXCELENT. For me now this is how things look like Before this I've used Firefox for more then 2,3 years without any complains. Maybe in time after a few updates I'll go back to give it another chance , but this time with no themes , or useless plug-ins and addons which the net is full of considering this browser is Open Source.. so everyone cand publish diferent stuff for it.
  13. I'm sorry if this sounds like a newbish question but since it's a MyCents Info topic I assume it's a suitable place for my question.I bought a domain last year from Xisto , everything great , excelent service and now I want to buy another one. So my question is if we can still buy .com domains from Xisto with MyCents earned here on Xisto. In other words , the Dollars transfered from this forum go to both Xisto.com AND Xisto - Domains.com so we can use them both for hosting or domains? which ever we want ?I'm asking this because I just tried registering another domain on XiDomain and the only payment method available was PayPal.Can someone clarify this problem for me ?
  14. Maybe this is a little offtopic but this system for "rep" worked on a romanian forum I frequently use. To stop the rep + from one user to another they choose to make it completely anonymous so no one knew who gave him +REP. It's a little hard to get used to it in the begining but in the long run this system works like a charm. I'm just sayin'.
  15. Personally I'm not a big fan of Antiviruses , I think they're a waste of your RAM memory (especialy if you don't have as much as you would need) ,but for the sake of it , from what people say on the Internet NOD32 seems to be pretty good. I can't give a personal opinion since I've never used it because each copy I've tried was requesting a serial Key which I didn't own.In my opinion installing an antivirus software is required only when you feel your PC is infected and requires a full scan to clean up everything , other then that , in the rest of the time a firewall is more then enough considering it uses a lot less resources and is just as eficient. Kaspersky (hope it's spelled right)which also is recomended by alot of people doesn't have my trust since a year ago when I installed it on my old pc (1900+ , 512 RAM) after a fresh Windows XP reinstall and it just completely ruined everything. My PC completely froze and didn't recover after restart .. at start up it was stil frozen so I had to reinstall my windows and tried a normal Firewall , my choice was Sygate Firewall because at the time it seemed to be a good one and never had problems with it since then.To be honnest no mather how much "protection" you use for your PC it stil won't be enough if you surf the web without knowing what risks are on diferent websites. In time we all learn what's the best solution for our Way of using the PC. For example .. a good way to keep your pc safe is before opening a fresh downloaded software from the internet is to upload it on one of those Free online scaners and check to see if it's infected or not. I usually use jotti.. google it if you need it. It instantly scans your file with over 15 Antiviruses and tells you if it's safe. It has never let me down so far.Stay Safe.
