Hi manifestmw2, I have used both XP and Win 7 Ultimate for quite some time, thus, I would prefer XP over Win 7 Ultimate only if the system configuration is less powerful, but, if you have a very good system configuration like fast ram, descent graphics card, etc. then no doubt win 7 is better as the good graphics interface comes with a price. One more thing I would like to tell you, that if you are installing win 7, then in most of the cases you will not need to install additional drivers as win 7 is already packed with drivers, so, just after the installation you are ready to use it

Well personally, I don't have much problem with the case, its not that much bad, but, its just its shape that is making it unusual at the first sight. Secondly, amd processor, I think you should look for a core i5 or entry level core i7 processor from intel, that's just my opinion ;)And 4GB DDR3 1333 and the graphics card NVIDIA GeForce GT240 1GB is really a powerful combo, no complain about them

Well, I would to like to try microsoft security essentials, but, can you tell me how is its protections against viruses and if it also protect us from internet threats like hack attacks, etc. as these are the main concern for me while choosing a security suite, i want complete protection. Hello everyone,At the moment, I am looking to select a right combination of cms and forum software which can meet all my requirements for my new site, but, I am really confused in selecting the right cms and forum software duo for my site. So, I need everyone suggestions and opinions.....As a cms, I have Joomla in my mind. But, as a forum software, I am totally confused. I am currently stuck in between phpbb and smf. Actually, yesterday, I tried both the forum software SMF 2.0 RC3 and phpBB 3.0.7 on localhost using wampserver. And, I found that understanding and using smf was really very easy in comparison to phpbb. I found both the phpbb and smf, very feature rich but, it was just that smf presented everything in a simple manner, however, I did not spend much time playing with phpbb 3.0.7 as playing with it was a bit hard, but, one thing is sure, probably phpbb is having more features at the moment......correct me if I am wrong.....So, the reason for my confusion is that stable version of smf 2 is still not realeased, and I don't even have any idea when it will be realeased. As a result of which, I don't know which one should I select, old stable version of SMF 1.0.11, or phpbb 3.0.7 or smf 2.0 rc3......Also, what cms would you suggest me to use with any of the above forum software. Waiting for your suggestions.Here are things which are in my mind about my site1. Should be fast, 2. Less buggy and highly secured,3. Well, I guess I could do that, but, at the moment I really need more power and more ram, I can't decrease the ram memory at least for now, because I am having vacations and I am using my pc a lot these days and its already slowing down despite of having 1 gb ram, so you can imagine how badly my pc will be affected now if I reduced the ram now. But, once I get over with my vacations and my pc usage will be back to normal, then surely I would love to reduce my system ram to test out the norton internet security 2011 performance. But, for now, its really not possible

Thanks bani for suggesting the site, but, freehostia will not work for me as it gives only 1 MySQL database and that too with 10 MB database storage, and I need at least 2 MySql database, one for cms and the other one for using forum software. I tried all the sites suggested by you, but, ended up on hostcell, although still my account is not created and is pending approval. I tried zymichost, but, since it doesn't give cpanel, therefore I had to leave it, and hostwoot, is post to host, and I am kinda stuck at posting. I can't give my limited time to other forums posting there. And, hostcolor is not a free host as I didn't see the word "FREE" anywhere on their site. So, just wish hostcell will approve my account soon, so that, I can start playing with different cms.....

Android.....at the moment, is my first choice rather than symbian, android is progressing much faster than symbian. But, since I haven't use android either, I can't say much about it. Samsung also has developed its BADA OS, and the only samsung phones using this os are probably Galaxy S and Samsung Wave, please correct me if I am wrong. BADA OS is also looking good. And, I don't know if Nokia developed any phone using android, but, it definitely developed a phone nokia n900 on maemo platform. The market is now flooded with options and hopefully will be flooded with more in near future and that will ultimately benefit all of us....so my kind request to developers of all mobile platforms is to keep battling against other, and while competing keep reducing the price for end user......

Now, one question more is popping in my mind and that is, "Are sites created using just simple css and html secured, or they are more easily hackable than the sites using cms?" hmmmm......who are the lucky guys to be in contact with the admins, and why they don't tell any of the admin to be active on Xisto?? This site really needs admin............ I personally have a suggestion for Xisto, which only admin can apply, actually I just want the "Recently Added Topics" to be extended and the list of "Recently Added Posts" to be implemented, like what was there earlier in old Xisto. I found that personally very useful and a really nice feature to have on a forum as a newbie, and I still likes that.....

Oh! thats not good, really disheartened now, I was thinking of using Joomla and to be frank still thinking of using joomla, but, at the same time I don't want to compromise with the security of my site. I was browsing the net, finding the ways to secure joomla and I found an extension for joomla created by siteground. The name of the extension is jhackguard. Now, what do you think, will it be good enough to ensure my joomla site security. I am currently stuck at joomla as I don't know anything of other two, drupal and wordpress. And what else you can recommend me to secure my Joomla site??? Also, I am confused in choosing right forum software, but, I think I should create another topic for that, as it doesn't have anything to do with the current thread.

Well, after seeing your speedtest results, my broadband connection speed doesn't stand up in front of your high speed net connections, but, I am still happy with my broadband connection, and when high speed internet connections will become cheaper in my country "India" also, hopefully I will also be able to get one high speed broadband connection like you guys. Hello mahesh, I have 2 * 512 mb ram and using Norton Internet Security 2011, and so far I haven't face any slowdown from the side of norton internet security, it is running smoothly in background. Although, if there is anything slowing down my pc is firefox, I usually access more than 5-6 times at a time, so have 5-6 tabs open in same window, and it is slowing down my pc. Sites are loaded fast but, switching from one tab to another tab is taking time, and sometimes it is just stuck at one tab only. According to the resource monitor of NIS 2011, the firefox is using a lot of memory, the warning is shown time to time. Thus, I conclude by saying that NIS 2011 is not resource hungry, it is just working fine at least in my pc. So, my best security suite for windows will be NIS 2011.

I agree with you Nameless_ , they have just forget us, its been almost a week , since I am active again in Xisto, but, the entire time I am active here, I haven't seen any admin logged in even for a second. Now I think, probably we should send a support ticket to Xisto - Support asking where are the admins of Xisto . Probably, they might tell us where are the admins lost in this world. Also, mods can't do anything, they are users like us but just little bit extra power, so ks need their admins back then whether its buffalohelp or opaque, at least one admin should be active again.

Well, yesterday I finally submitted the support ticket to Xisto - Support and got a satisfactory reply. The person who replied my support ticket is Nik. K. and he gives me 2 more days time to collect enough mycents. The response time was really good, I must admit that now. So, support is still as it is as it was almost a year back. Now, I just wish I can keep up posting like crazy and also the script runs at its regular time. Just keeping my fingers crossed until things are not over.

@Quatrux: Thanks for response friend. Yeah, I made the mistake of using same passwords on every site, as remembering them for me was very easy. Actually, I was doing like this earlier, I created several groups of sites, like one group for accounts like paypal and alertpay, other group for all my ptc sites, one group for sites like ks and my hosting accounts, and the last one for sites which I join by doing ptsu tasks. So, by this way, it was really easier for me to access more than 50+ sites, as all login information was stored in my mind. But, possibly I made the mistake of not using complex passwords specially in ptc sites, and that might be the reason why I was hacked. I was the person who give invitation to the hacker to hack my cashium account. But, now I am using complex passwords on all sites. I am also using separate browsers to access sites, like I use Opera to access paypal and alertpay and Firefox to access all other sites.And, by the way, I don't have any friend who will be interested in hacking me as they don't even know which sites I access. @mahesh: Thanks for giving the info. I wasn't aware that wordpress is so much targetted to hack attacks. I will not be using it now. But, can you tell me is Joomla secured or not, as I am currently looking to create my site using joomla.Thanks in advance

Thanks for the info rvalkass.. Right now, I am downloading Ubuntu, and hope will be able to understand that how to use it.... Actually, I earlier tried installing and using ubuntu, installing was easy, but, using it, was bit difficult as I am only used to MS Windows. But, after seeing the screenshots of latest versions of ubuntu and kubuntu, I am really impressed. Its looking really nice and much better than even windows 7, at least in my opinion. And, after trying ubuntu, will also try kubuntu...hope this time I will not have to regret and will be able to run internet in them, as this is the main problem I faced with them.....

Well I am thinking of doing everything that I can do now possibly. I just joined Xisto and posting there also and meanwhile also posting here but, its really hard...I am totally stressed...posting on dead forums is really really a tough task to do And, the reason why I am not still sending pm to opaque is because I don't know if he is going to check that or not. Since, he is not accessing ks also, so, I really don't know if he will see it or not. So, what I am going to do now, is submitting both support tickets and pm to opaque. Hmmmm....iphone...how can I forget to mention about the magical iphone and its ios Definitely i would like to try that, but, the problem is its not possible for me to buy iphone at the moment. Iphone is very- very costly here in India and it will take too much time for me to collect enough funds. Probably, in future if I get descent earnings I could buy and try that..... Also, if I am not wrong, Iphone 4 is still not launched in India...and the price of iphone 3gs is more than $600. So, kinda impossible for me to buy that..... Yeah Quatrux, I have been in those guys who probably don't need to install any other driver after installing windows 7 I have installed Windows 7 in my pc and had everything working then whether its video, internet or sound. All drivers are already present in windows 7 already. So, as a result, saves me a lot of time whenever I had to reinstall windows to perform system maintenance. Really a plus point for users like me

Hello everyone, I personally have used two phones so far, one is nokia n72 running on an old and outdated version of symbian platform and the other one is samsung star superb having samsung proprietary os, and to be frank, I wasn't really impressed with any one of the two. I am basically a hardcore user, then whether it comes to mobile phones or computers, I use them upto their limitations. And, the main advantage and probably the only one which I found while using my n72 running on symbian platform was that there are more softwares available for nokia n72, but, on the other found, the software availability for samsung proprietary os was really limited. But, there are more platforms or os available for mobile phones also like android, palm os, blackberry os, etc. so, which one is your favorite??Hopefully, after seeing your experiences with other mobile platforms, I will be able to make a better choice, as I currently looking for my next phone, really unfortunate...Waiting for your replies :)Thanks in advance

Hello everyone,I have been hacked two times so far, first time my account on one of the ptc site was hacked, the hacker first changed the alertpay account id to his/her own and then requested the payment to his/her alertpay account. But, thankfully I checked it when there was time, I immediately created a support ticket and the requested payment was cancelled, the situation could have been worsed if that site would have got instant payments enabled.....so sometimes it is better not to have instant payments The reason probably I was hacked here, I guess, I was using same passwords and user names on all the ptc sites earlier but not now, so, don't try to hack me again Secondly, my paypal account was hacked, the day when it was hacked, I purchased an advertising pack on another ptc site, and only after few hours of running ad campaigns, when I log into my account that the payment which I made to the ptc site was back into my paypal account, the hacker, or might be possible, I do that by mistake, really don't know what happened there....So, as a result, now my paypal account is totally wasted, I have $2.1 in my paypal account, but, unfortunately my paypal account access has been limited, now I can't send payment to anyone, but, can receive though.....now what is the reason of receiving money, when I can't send that money or spend that money... So, these two or probably one, though have very rare chance, are the only incidents when I was hacked. Although, there were like two-three hack attacks also, but, my norton internet security blocked that attacks and appreciably saved me from any further exploitation..... :)Now, the question for you is have you ever been hacked? What you are doing to ensure your security like which internet security and other softwares are you using to ensure that you are always secured?All tips are welcome :)Thanks in advance
