  1. yes but this theory is a bit impossible since whats generating the "power to reach it wirelessly" i did come across a similar theory but using the electricity grid as a internet source. https://www.sciencedaily.com/releases/2007/71024102656.htm
  2. yes its free for those who share documents and such but majority of those who use bittorrents arent doing it for that. they are downloading music and programs that cost thos who make it millions if not billion of dollars a year. do everyone a favor and dont even use anything and just buy the cd in store. because regardless of how u look at it. its illegal.
  3. the day linux take major share of the market that day microsoft goes down and i will truely be completed!but anywho. universities are adding linux to labs. my networking lab currenty has all distro of linux so a one small for man. one big step fo linux!

    Lynx

it would be funny if there was a law where the webmaster MUST provide a html verison of the website and without the crazy of heavy graphics that could take up a lot of BW.i love it lynx. straight to the point without the hassle.
  7. ugh. this never gets old. they ranged from transfering money to u, to ebay and even rent scams...its pretty much all the same where they send u a bigger amount then what u suppose to take. then send them the difference. *hence here is the part.* they sendu the check of the amount and u deposit it. its available the next day however, the check hasnt cleared yet.by the time u send it out and they recieve it you will get a negative plus a returned check fee for the check not being clear so u lose more money and plus some.
  8. installation is about 4 to 6 hours long so hope u have that big cup of coffee around. and they wont do it unless ur home. Nothing is unlimited when they say unlimited. some places that offer regular broadband cap at 25 to 50gb a month. so that not great if u are into big data transfer from unknown sources. i pay about 54.99 USD tax-free a month but if i hit my cap which i dont know exactly what it is. i expect to pay about 100 bucks. but no more then that. i feel like sometimes they are really misleading with the advertisements to get u set up. and god once they finished putting the groundwork to get u fiberoptic in ur neighbor hood. the door to door sales start ringing and persuading u to sign up with them. ur right it doesnt make a difference but it does matter if u are transfering from ur own network and not from isp. but then again it all depends on what kind of network u got setting up.
  9. lol lets hope it doesnt get to the point she will be driving it all by herself if it was going to the corner deli or supermarket. haha
  10. its based on popularity as to where your from. some friends who are from europe tends to use hi5 more often and dont use facebook that much. but facebook has grown to becoming a very successful social place for family, friends and coworkers.facebook. ftw.
  11. the popularity of Wikipedia has obviously grown alot over the years it has been around. however many university strictly prohibt citing sources from them due to not accurate information and cant be used as a primary source like abby mentioned. however it could be the gateway to use reference links and incorporate them into student papers.it has interesting facts and great place to go if u need to read about things that you never even knew about.
  12. yep one small step for popularity. one giant step towards celebrity!congrats! she knows how to drive the thing which makes things easier when its time to get her a driver license! ()v
  13. i seriously in my own opinion think this swine flu is just all BS. people overreact and panic as if its the one of the 7 seven deadly sins (is it 7?) or its the sign of the end of the world.can we just let this go and continue on with our miserable lives. i think we still have AIDS, HIV, HOV to cure dont we? and cancer? (rolls eyes)
  14. but u do know what they say about old farts. they may be old but they come with weathly of knowledge. everyone has their taste and everyone has their opinion. u want to be flirtous the only reason why they lead u on and ditch for some other girl was because there was no development of the so called "relationship" or lack ther of. u simply just need to give them that u are into them and make sure they know that. u dont want to be really really flirtly since that just makes you look like ur desperate. but makign someone special goes a long way i guess.
  15. this already exist to FIOS which what i was mentioning. I have it in my current home. but what i believe he was mentioned is actually directly wiring your own home with fiber optic.new modern homebuilders are actually wiring there home to be completly wireless if not have a ethernet port in every room. his suggestion was to wire his home to be fiber optic to get a true speed of it. fiberoptic network provided by verizon wireless only goes from the telephone poles and gets translated from there to regular cable to the wireless fios router that verionz provide that you can then use ethernet. instead of using ethernet by using maybe changing the switch it could bring a faster speed. but what computer would be able to handle that kind of traffic of data streaming at the speed of light?
  16. The site looks pretty well placed together. Especially the theme of it. But one question I have for you is:"Suggested & maximum width of media = 571 pixels"Is that supposed to be displayed out. or did you forget to put in the code to just see it in the coding? I know this is not completed but it looks great. Another thing I want to mentioned that using IE8, the Latest News Section isnt aligned with ther other two and yet it simply makes itself a new row below by itself. I ran the site under firefox and it was in place.Overall! keep up what your doing. I like it!
  17. Out of the 4 you mentioned, I've tried every single one except for Knoppix. Havent had the time or chance to test it out. I like to experiment due to the fact that you gotta be open minded that there is life outside of Windows. (Yes Microsoft, there is other people in the world besides you)Ubuntu is great. No need to find drivers since they find it for you and your already on the internet and running smoothly. While I didnt get a chance to be playing any games on it. The simpliciy of running it and getting it to run is quick. Fedora & Mandriva are similar to me but Mandriva for me, had a problem running firefox for some odd reason? Fedora has some great graphic features but doesnt compare to Ubuntu's exploding window or snowing (christmas theme) coming down on your screen.Sorry if this seem like a one-sided argument. I played with Ubuntu longer then the others. (Maybe because its the free stickers you get when you request them to send you a CD)
  18. congrats! you are on your way to geekhood! kasperooney mentioned the general windows shortcuts that you could use. with windows vista (awesome operating system but I too will be leaving them in October for Windows 7) they have added a few more shortcuts that is designed to make it more appealing. I made sure I didnt add anything that kasperooney mentioned. But for the one I did add that was from there, they made some upgrades or "tweaks " to make it more visually better. (i took took this from the microsoft website)Windows logo key +T Cycle through programs on the taskbar Windows logo key +TAB Cycle through programs on the taskbar by using Windows Flip 3-D CTRL+Windows logo key +TAB Use the arrow keys to cycle through programs on the taskbar by using Windows Flip 3-D Windows logo key +SPACEBAR Bring all gadgets to the front and select Windows Sidebar Windows logo key +G Cycle through Sidebar gadgets Windows logo key +U Open Ease of Access Center Windows logo key +X Open Windows Mobility Center Windows logo key with any number key Open the Quick Launch shortcut that is in the position that corresponds to the number. For example, Windows logo key +1 to launch the first shortcut in the Quick Launch menu.
  19. I used to like the Simpsons but more recently the episodes have gone from funny to werid? Have anyone noticed they gotten more and more dull? And to consider the actors to do the voiceovers are getting paid more and more? I think its time they finally put this show to rest. i mean what is it now? 20 seasons already? And not to mentioned the fact FOX ordered for 2 more seasons back in Feb? @CopyJosh - they were asking for 500k per episode during a depute to sign a new deal. this delayed for a few months of making new episodes due to no contract. but a few days later after your article u posted, http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/entertainment/7434296.stm They finally came to conclusion to sign for 400k as kasperooney has mentioned for 4 years.
  20. True indeed that internet would be blazing but we all know the internet companies will cap us at a certain limit. (Comcast capping at 50G a month?) But seriously, we would be downloading a great speed but with the way the economy is going today, who would really fish out the extra money to get more download speed that they really dont need? certain ISPs offers 1.5 - 50mbps? if not more? But in a serious sense? Are we really downloading anything that require that much? Do you really need to get that file instantly? (I'm assuming your not downloading that would promote priacy)
