Request A Tutorial! If its witin my knowledge, Ill make it
Kubi replied to Kubi's topic in General Discussion
You're obviously not understand this subject, I'm not making tutorials that no one really cares about, waste of time, instead I'm making tutorials that are ACTUAL problems on this board. Now, answer me this, how will make tutorials to peopels personal issues create MORE problems? The tutorial is meant to HELP people with there issues, and if it's make correctly(Which when I make mine, I make sure I'm correct) it WON'T cause more problems, it will solve them. Now, making tutorials just for the hell of it seems pointless, why do that when you can make one that will be more helpfull(becuz it's helping the person a ton that requested it) and used? Now I understand how you're saying "Link to all the tutorials you've made and make a ton". Well, I've linked them in my signature, but that still leaves other issues out there. And plus, this topic is "REQUEST A TUTORIAL" not, "make as many tutorials as you can and link to them". If you still have an argurment, whatever, let me do what I wish to do. -
This tutorial was requested by sxyloverboy. Introduction: sxyloverboy has asked me how to make your navigation bar on him website change to add another page, without having to do it on every page. Well, I have the answer for you! Beginning Assuming you have a FTP upload access, you'll be open your file "index.php" i6.photobucket.com/albums/y212/clanvel/INDEX-NAV-S1.bmp Once your "index.php" file is open press "CRTL+F" (Find) and search for something that looks like this; <tr> <td class="off" onmouseover="this.className='on'" onmouseout="this.className='off'" width="100%" height="14" valign="top"> <a href="#"><font color="#FF0000">Main</a></font></td> </tr>Once found, you can copy and paste it in wherever you want, say we want to add a page called "Members", this is what we need to do; <tr> <td class="off" onmouseover="this.className='on'" onmouseout="this.className='off'" width="100%" height="14" valign="top"> <a href="#"><font color="#FF0000">Main</a></font></td> </tr>Copy//Paste another one, like so; <tr> <td class="off" onmouseover="this.className='on'" onmouseout="this.className='off'" width="100%" height="14" valign="top"> <a href="#"><font color="#FF0000">Main</a></font></td> </tr> <tr> <td class="off" onmouseover="this.className='on'" onmouseout="this.className='off'" width="100%" height="14" valign="top"> <a href="#"><font color="#FF0000">Main</a></font></td> </tr>Now you have another page! But we're not done yet! We need to change the name of the page so we don't have 2 of the same pages! Now that you have those 2 there, you need to change the second ones name, look for something in those that looks like this; <font color="#FF0000">Main</a></font></td>See the text that reads "Main"? Change that to whatever you want the page called, in this case "Members" Now you should have something that looks like this; <tr> <td class="off" onmouseover="this.className='on'" onmouseout="this.className='off'" width="100%" height="14" valign="top"> <a href="#"><font color="#FF0000">Main</a></font></td> </tr> <tr> <td class="off" onmouseover="this.className='on'" onmouseout="this.className='off'" width="100%" height="14" valign="top"> <a href="#"><font color="#FF0000">Members</a></font></td> </tr>And viola! You're done! How easy? But make sure, since you already have your files uploaded, you need to re-upload them into your FTP server or the changes won't take affect. Now sxyloverguy ALSO asked me where to find some HTML tutorials! Well, I have the answer; . Please note, I have written none of this, it's all written by someone else and distributed to people who need the help FREE. I claim nothing on draacs to be mine! It's a great site to learn almost anything about scripting, css, html, and java.

Request A Tutorial! If its witin my knowledge, Ill make it
Kubi replied to Kubi's topic in General Discussion
I know, I've written one and it's been accepted already. But what I want to do it write tutorials that relate to peoples DIRECT problems. So instead of writing tutorials just to have em there, I wanna write em to help individuals. I know where/how to post a tutorial, I'm not THAT new. And lastly, I'm not here for the hosting, as I've mentioned before I'm here to help people with there various computing problems. -
This template is actually pretty nice. I just came to this forum a couple days ago, so I'm not sure what the old template was. This is easy to read, I don't see how you're having trouble, becuz, I mean, I wear glasses and have really bad eyes, yet I can read this perfectly. The only Con about this new script is all the ads between the posts. every 2 or 3 posts they're 2 ads, it's kinda messes up the page, Oh well, new template is pretty nice though.

Request A Tutorial! If its witin my knowledge, Ill make it

Alright, hey guys. I'm still new to Xisto, but I'm ganna do my best to help people out in any way possible, I'd like to start by writing tutorials for people(thanks to BuffaloHELP for telling me were here to post this)! Skills -Alright, I'm very good with computer, inside and out. I personaly work with Windows XP, so I can help out with most everything in this general area(but there still are things I don't know!) Since, just saying "Windows XP" is a little vague, I'll go more in-depth. -If your having a problem with your browser, or just don't know how to do something, feel free to ask me to write something on it. "Omg, how to I use FireFTP?" I've actually written something on that! Things like that concurning your browser. -If your programs don't seem to run correctly, or you don't know how to even run one, say "omg, how to I work IrfanVeiw?" I can help you with that, actaully, I've already written one on that topic. -Basically I can tell you anything(well, most anything) that you need to know about programs and how to run/work them. -Those are basic areas where people run into problems, but I can help with things such as HTML, Java, Uploading files into FTP, hosting. You name it, I can do it! -It doesn't have to be a tutorial, you can just ask a simple question and I'll answer it. But please PM me about things, don't make a thread(don't' want to cause any trouble). If it's within my capability to write the tutorial, I'll make it! But don't you want something in return? -No way! I'm not after rep, anything, I just want to help people out in any ways. No, I'm not being a suck-up, no I'm not trying to become a mod, I'm just trying to help out. Finaly; If people are going to be asking me for tutorials, and help, I'm ganna be quite busy! Please don't swamp me with PM's or Emails, if I don't respond, I'm working on something else, just be patient I'll get to you. If I tell you I'm writing your tutorials, I'm writing your tutorial, don't pester me "Are you done?". NO! Once you see the topic in the "How To" section, I'M DONE! Thanks everyone. Happy posting. -
You don't know how it hurts people?!? Well then I'll explain to you! Adobe Realeases a new PhotoShop, you download it, as you say. Well, that's just one less person who has the product without paying! If everyone had this ability(to download stuff off the net free) companies would lose millions of dollars. Once you download something, people can basically download it from you(if your using BitT, I believe). So it's just a giant circle of loss. You gain something, but in your case, photoshop is over 100 bucks, so each time someone dl's it instead of buying it, the company loses about 100 bucks. Understand now?

Well, it seems that the date "Jun 9, 2005" could be the 4 digit combo!Try this as the combo: 6905, June 9th, 2005. I'm good at solving puzzles, so I'll go try it out and get back to you.

How To Resize/host Images! Very easy to understand
Kubi replied to Kubi's topic in General Discussion
Thanks for pointing that out! Exept this tutorial is for Resizeing to specific sizes, like on this website your sig has to be like 200x155, I'm showing people how to change it. About the website thing, um, I believe you need to upload some scripts into a FTP client. Xisto offers FTP support don't they? Sorry I couldn't help out more, I'm not exactaly here for the hosting service, I just like to help people out. Here are some linkage that could help you; How to Open Your FTP Domains and Settings I didn't write ANY of these, they're written by other people, and posted in the support forum on this website. Downloading WS_FTP Pro WS_FTP Pro Located here! Make sure you fill out the form COMPLETLY so you get the best results, it only lasts 30 days but after that I suggest you use FireFTP. Using FireFTP FireFTP is a program created by the people who run Mozilla FireFox. FireFTP is an In-Browser FTP Client. It's used the same way as WS_FTP, but a little bit less complex. Downloading FireFTP First you must have Mozilla FireFox. Next click "Tools" on the status bar, and look for an item that says "Extensions", click it. You should see a few exenstions there, but you'll also see "FireFTP", download it. Running FireFTP Click "Tools" and look for "FireFTP", click it. It works the same way as WS_FTP so setup is the same. This is free and it never expires. Go for it! -
Ok, download Bit Torrent from bittorrent.com (or .org not sure) then rune the .exe file and it'll download BT. It won't say anything like "Download Successful" it'll just be there. You don't open bittorrent either. It'll open automatically. Now as for downloading things; find a website that lets you download .torrent files (suprnova.org, it closed and moved but I'm not sure where) and find the file you want. Once you have the file you want (if it's a game it should include 2-3 files, .iso and .bin) download it. Since it's a .torrent file it'll open BitTorrent and it'll start downloading! I suggest you keep your computer on 24/7 while downloading, becuz games can take a week to download SOMETIMES, just depends on the size. If you close the download box, DON'T WORRY! The files are saved client side so you can just resume your download. To do this, just click the file you wanna download, it'll refresh the download and continue going. It'll say that it's ganna take a few days to compelte, even if you resume downloading at 99.9%, whatever, just ignore that. It's 99.9% wrong anyways. Hope that helps.

I HATE IT!)Eh, I guess that's all. -
For the tutorial I'm ganna be using IrfanVeiw. It's a freeware image program which you can use to resize and add effect to image, and a lot more ofcourse. If you don't have IrfanVeiw you can get it from download.com or anyother download site. How to resize images: First you gatta open Irfanveiw...gee, how obvious. First, open the picture you wish to resize. Second, click the tab that says "Image" -=Example=- Third, click "Resize/Resample -=Example=- Finaly, set the Height and Width of the picture to what you want, make sure you have "Set New Size" and "Pixels" selected. -=Example=- Click "Ok" Once you click Click File>Save, you'll br prompted whether or not you wish to keep the current file type(e.x. .bmp) or change it. If you wish to host it it's best to change the extention to .gif or .jpg, it makes the file a whole lot smaller. Congratz! You just resized and image!! How to host images Go to PhotoBucket(TOTALY FREE!) Sign up, omg, unlimited images, for free! Awsome. Once your logged in insert the path to your picture in the "Upload" box. (Example: C:/Desktop/Img+Img Editors/Owned.Gif) and click "Submit" PLEASE NOTE: If you wish to upload more then 1 image, you can click "Upload Multiple Images" and select a number, up to 19. *Warning* The more pictures you upload the longer it will take for the page to load! You should see 3 spaces under the picture(s) you just submited, they look like this; http://forums.xisto.com/no_longer_exists/ - Which is just a blank link, nothing else.. <.img>http://forums.xisto.com/no_longer_exists/; - Which is your picture in JavaScript format, for banners and such. [.img]http://forums.xisto.com/no_longer_exists/- For posting on websites like this! You won't see the link, you'll just see the pictures. Click one of those, and it will automatically select all the text for you, copy/paste it to wherever you want! And that concludes my tutorial, I hope this helps you all!
