  1. Thanks for that. I didn't fancy downloading Zone Alarm to test my speed config. I like Blueyonder, (my ISP) they keep upgrading the connections for NOTHING. When I first got connected to the Internet on broadband I was running at 128Kb/sec. But now, its 729.40 Kb/sec. Penny>> Bandwidth is the data flow between your computer and the Internet/ Intranet. Think of it like this, the number of ants that go between your computer and the Internet at the moment is 293 per second. Now, imagine each of those ants carrying a briefcase of information that is being taken out into the w3 (world wide web). Incoming and outgoing connections vary. For me, the outgoing connection is weeker than the incoming. This is because the data (or ants with briefcases) have a bit more of a challenge to get out there. They have to clime hills. The incoming flow is literally going down the hill of the w3. Channels of your connection is how many incoming or outgoing connections your modem/ computer can handle. This is based mostly on your bandwidth. The higher the bandwidth, the more or stronger channels you can have. For example, I can usually have 7 incoming channels of about 104Kb/sec each. In total, it comes to 729Kb/sec. That is if I don't play on the Internet whilst downloading. Since when did Xisto start having pop-up adverts??? Anyway, I just took a look at this page, so those with anomolies in there connection clock, look at the link below. http://www.arris.com/company/2wire?p=7 Notice from cmatcmextra: Merged double posts
  2. Why are you confusing things? use GMT then +1, -1 format to find your current time: other time.
  3. I'm glad I aint the only one that used freewebs as a beginning. I think that there are many great free web hosts out there, but it all depends on what you actually want or need. For example, Tripod and Freewebs are excellent for beginners, as something like Xisto or Xisto are a little more complex and advanced. The major designers and developers amongst us are better off with either a paid plan, or something Xisto with a paid DNS.
  4. Where has the trust gone? It's like the money going to third world countries, down the drain. And I think he is aware of all the legal issues. And as icemarle pointed out, if it is COMMERCIAL brushes, then yes he can get done. However, this is entirely down to the owner's desretion, not yours.
  5. ...may take a while? my connection is deciding for itself how fast it goes. Im downloading at 156Kb/sec (if that is even possible on my connection) and then it will suddenly drop to 5Kb/sec. What is this world coming to?Cool brushes though, thanks. I'll sure to use them on my up-coming site.
  6. Well, just signed up to it. I live in the UK, so I might be applicable to that offer. If it still on that is.
  7. I don't understand that business. How can they make any profit through their workings. There must be something dodgy going on. Check there Policy before proceeding with any case against them. You never know how it might back-fire.
  8. Doesn't matter, I think I got it wrong, but if I didn't, it means taking a solid coloured outline of the object you have selected. Just ignore me on that one.I just upgraded my PC (to windows 2K) so that I can use Photoshop CS, and I am stuck with it. So, thanks for the tutorial.
  9. I am glad that corel took over Jasc. The product is really bad, even worse than paint.net. I could only just make a shape when the interface messed up.I am going to download a trial of Photoshop 7 and see how well that works.
  10. Thanks, I'll check it out. I have downloaded a lot of grunge brushes, textures, filters etc for PSP.I'll try it out later (PSP) and I will give you a sample sig of what it can produce by a newbie.
  11. Lol. It is a boy though. Just with girlish features. I have just baught Jasc Paint Shop Pro 8.1, so maybe soon I can eventually make cooler stuff.
  12. Its not the amount of work nor the way it is put together that holds the project up. It is everything. Biscuitrat's may be easy to put together in other programs, but the elegance and sophistication of it holds presidence. I agree though, a lot of work was put into Truefusion's and it may have taken a while. If the two images had been of similar style, then I would have gone for TrueFusion's.
  13. I have to say that I find the one I did for Johnny the best it was also the first I made from that set.
  14. You only get STIs by sleeping with someone without protection and if the person has an STI. Having sex a lot doesn't mean that you have to have it with other people.
  15. Don't think so. A free way of getting VB is to use warez version. However, you do it by your own risk and you will get done if found out. There are plenty of free e-books on VB.
  16. Lol. The design I featured only had content as a sort of marker of what it would look like with the different bits added to it. The rayed boxes are the background of the image that goes on top of it, a place-holder if you will.
  17. Thanks for the advice. My computer that I do my work on isn't strong enough to handle Photoshop (and wont install anyway) so at the moment I am tied to Fireworks.I agree about the background. I suppose the biggest problems I have are the lack of brushes and textures. If I had more then I would be eventually able to make better sigs (i hope). Unfortunaely, I don't think that brushes can't be imported into Fireworks yet. If anyone knows any different, please contact me.
  18. Hi guys. I just made these sigs a couple of hours ago. I know they aren't as good as others but they were made in Fireworks, blame it not me lol. Biscuitrat's: Frozen's: Johnny's: Kubi's: Saint Michael's: Wassie's: There are still a couple more I want to do. Oh, and let me know what you think.
  19. Biscuitrat:+Simple and elegant+Excellent colour co-ordination-???-???Notes: It is elegant and sophisticated. However, for a hard-core gaming website it would not fit in. But for a relaxed environment it is perfect.Truefusion:+Complex+Great text effect-Agreed with the blending thing-???Notes: It unfortunately let's itself down with the blending. If it had been further in or on all sides then it would have been perfect.I give this one to BiscuitratSo far:3:0 - Biscuitrat up.
  20. They look cool. I think the Naruto one looks the best.
  21. You should be able to download a slicer plugin for THE GIMP. I have tried it before and found the workspace annoying. Plus it was really buggy.
  22. Unfortunately, this computer that I play on the Internet is not mine and I am not allowed to install anything. So I am stuck with Windows FTP. Not that I use it anyway.Hopefully when I get a new connection to MY computer, I will probably use Filezilla or some advanced FTP.
  23. Sorry for double posting, but, smoking does not relieve stress. It simply puts a mask over it. Majority of the relief is psychoscimatic, which means it is thought removed.
