  1. Well...I have previously helped in the programming on a few rpgs, and it really is not easy. You will need multiple people for each category if you want to get a quality game done in the next year. I am quite good with the actual moving graphics and IGMs...and i have a solid base in programming with java and VB. I plan to learn C++, but that will take a while(probably a year or so) for me to completely master. Anyway, I hope your game gets off to a good start... if you want in game movies or graphics feel free to ask for my help. You will need a movie plot and rough sketches of the people if you want my help though. I im good...but im not THAT good...lol. Anyway, if you get started let me know.
  2. Personally i think that the plot of the game, and its playability are the two most important peices of an RPG. Grahphics are good, but they dont take the cake. a game just isnt good if you cant play it... and i dont enjoy it if it's predictable. What do you think?
  3. lol..you tell us this but you dont really give an explination... is it the actual battle system you dont like, the way you can choose multiple characters, or just RPG's in general that you dont like?
  4. Looks interesting..but there are only 2000 members? That is definately a draw back. If i knew that more poeple would be online i might try it out... but i dont like waiting for someone to sign on.lol...i play too many MMORPG's already as it is.
  5. lol...IBRPG is not too bad, but i prefer the more action-based rpg's myself. I believe that if you look at the top of this page, you will see a link that says 'Ultimate IPB Gaming area'. Click that and see what you get...i was thinking about putting IBRPG on my forums, but my members Vetoed it really quick...lol
  6. Favorite RPG: FF7i know...you can all come stare at my old ps2 while i play a game who's grahpical support is greatly lacking compared to the games now a-days... I like a game because of its functionality and playability. Graphics are third...important, but not the end-all by any means. I love a game with a good twist...i think that's a trait inherit in most writers;especially a fantasy novelist like me.
  7. lol... I took the strength and magic...dropped the defence. I got really mixed up at the begining, but i found a "little helper" i like to call a tutorial and once i got to aladin's world it got less confusing. Anyway... my favorite part in the whole thing was the introduction. The way the Blended Utada Hikaru's 'Simple and Clean' into the swirling and falling was just... how can i say... cool. >>the closer you get to the light, the larger your shadow becomes<<(who was the genous who thought of that?) anyway... the only thing i didnt like was that all the characters were stolen from other places. I was hoping to see i couple new people when i started...but it turned out i recognized them all... i hope the sequil is as good as the original.
  8. dang...i didnt see tseng's post... anyway, ive replied there to him so you can do whatever you want to this topic b/c it technically is about the same thing his is.srry...i'll check the forums better next time i post... im a little new here.
  9. The Site looks good... im just thinking aloud when i say that all the stuff you have on the opening page is a bit cluttered and confusing though. Mabie if you seperated off your forums to a different page and made the left over space some kind of message board for news or something it would be a bit easier on my A.D.D mind. The Background is awesome though...lol. I wish i had time to create something like that.
  10. UlloIm a long time Dofus Player...been playing since it was in beta testing. It is certainly a fun game...Yes, it is like Maple story, but i prefer dofus because it has a different approach to the game than Maple Story. My char is aransky...a lv 46 osamonda. I would encourage all MMORPG fans to try this game for free... you cant acess the whole game, but you can play in the central city with all permissions. The city has everything you need to get to a substantial level and give the game a good testing.
  11. Yes, im serious. The game is called Dofus. It is on three servers, two of which are dedicated to french by language, but the third is english, and nowhere near full yet. What is cool about this game is that it's flash-based, click to move, and still manages to stay at the top of the line in its ability of non-lagging gameplay and chat systems. The monsters are fun, your character's stats only change slowly as you level, and the art is pertty cool.anyway, the game came out of beta about a month ago, but you can play for free just with a few limits once you leave the given area(with really has all you need to get to a good level anyway, and is quite large ).anyway, just wondering if any of you had played it.
  12. Lol... Personally i liked the Kingdom Hearts original game. However, the second game beggs the qeustion: is it another cheap attempt at a money making sequil that gets trashed by all the people who buy it? I mean, look at all the failed sequils there are out there... In my opinion, many games should just be left alone as singles... Anyway...I definately perfer the final fantasy series to kingdom hearts, just for the fact that they arent ruled by complete chaos and Disney Cartoons. I found myself realizing that all the good characters WERE from FF or some other good rpg that made millions... >>i like the chaos sometimes too, but it was strange the first time i went completely through the game. I was lost until i got to the end...so i had to turn around and beat it again the right way<<
  13. BB is good...Prefer 'We are not alone' to saturate though...LOD and the Final fantasy series...I mean...come on! that music is great.
  14. Personally, I really am not sure I like it that much... Yeah, the story's not bad...but I really think that the creators didn't do the most amazing job. Probably not a game I'm going to play...
  15. yeah...london is deffinately going to be a weakspot for a while... really set a universal tone when it happened...There is a game that you could be the bad guy, kill everything for no reason, and get away with it. <unfortunatly, that would be Kingdom Hearts...Anyway...
  16. yup. When your comp. crashes, everyone always blames the gamer...Anyway, what are you guy's all planning to do on RPG maker? Despite the orginization, it is really limited... I personally would suggest VB or C++ for programming. They're a little harder, but have an almost unlimited amount of posibilities.>>>SIDE NOTE>>>> RM3D is comming soon. That has a better chance of expanding the known RPG Maker's relm. I've really got my fingers crossed...>>>END SIDE>>>>anyway...
  17. Well... not quite. It wasn't quite as great as some people inside the game programming industries and such thought it COULD be, but gamers seem to have the general concensus that it WAS all that. My opinion: yeah, it could have been better. I'm a game programmer, so I notice every little thing. like I said, however, for gameplay and plot, it was great. Arin Sky 1/3 of the Tri_Ware corporation
  18. Whenever they make games like that, the 'bad guy' either has a good reason, or turns good. If I could get rid of that, I think I might make that. I would like to know, though... What kind of setting, character, and the like you want.
  19. Hey. This is another third of tri_ware speaking. There are tons of sites to get it 1) http://www.rmdownloads.com/ (you need flash for that site) 2) http://forums.xisto.com/no_longer_exists/ 3) http://forums.xisto.com/no_longer_exists/ and also, though Tseng dosn't know this, there is a way to create a MMORPG (massivly multiplayer online RPG) using Visual basic if you have it.(I do, and I plan on creating a game soon.) Walkthrough on how to: http://forums.xisto.com/no_longer_exists/ have fun all you noobs!
  20. Well, I guess it would depend on which you have been more associated with in the past. For instance, if someone were a good artist, an animation would be easier. However, if you are well versed in the different computer command languages, creating a game may turn out to be just as easy as creating an animation. That was the case for me...well, good luck either way..:
  21. RPG makers have been coming out and being translated on the computer and made available for free downloads for years. RM3D is'nt fully translated yet I don't think...I just have a small version of what they've done so far.
  22. Too True. I'm thinking that I'll wait till i'm 30 or so to buy the next gen systems... mabie by then it'll be down under $200.
  23. well, with the way it's setup, the list by alexia dosent do real justice for the graphics system. It's so real... you've got to see it to believe it! I personally am not going to buy a ps3, but I think that's just because I cant afford it's hefty pricing! everything is getting so dang expensive...anyway...arin
  24. Yeah. It's sweet as a cherry flavored lolypop...unless you don't like cherry... then I guess I'm not sure what to do...well, I'll start off by telling you that it is sometimes difficult to use, but the end result makes it well worth the effort. My affiliate Tseng and I will probably be useing it to make the next big Tri_Ware game.(never heared of us? It's ok...most people haven't...yet). Anyway, I will try to get you some screenshots soon...//:Arin OUT//:
  25. Hey. I'm planning on buying guild wars soon, and it would definately help me to get started right off in a clan. What's the clan name? not that it really makes that much difference, but i'm a curious person and I'd like to know. anyway, I would like you to know beforehand that I may be new to guild wars, but I'm not new to MMORPG's. In fact, I'm in the process right now of helping with the codeing for one that my friend is planning... that could take a couple of years though, seeing as it's only the two of us. arin
