    Hey All!

Actually, shock of the day: game development isn't that hard! If you download a game creation utility like Game Maker, you can start out with absolutely no programming experience and make your first game very soon. The hard part is when you shoot for good quality, i.e. when you want to sell your games.
  2. What do you think causes people to post nonsense? I used to be a terrible person on a forum called the SCDB. I posted a lot of nonsense and other stuff that really annoyed other users. So what could be the cause of this? Well, let's look back at my life a little bit: 1. My parents are divorced 2. I had no friends at school 3. I was almost completely unnoticed and felt left out 4. I was recovering from a depression (emotional, not the economic depression. ) Putting those four factors together, I broke. I needed attention somewhere. So to get that attention, I posted spam on the SCDB. So, Here's what I think: People feel lonely. They want to fit in somewhere, and they just can't find a place. They need attention, and let's face it, people who post nonsense get much more attention. So they act like fools. So what are your thoughts? Notice from saint-michael: Removed bad language and change topic title
  3. School life is only good if you have a lot of friends...if you don't have a lot of friends, it's just work, work, work.
  4. I use Fedora, which I think is derived from Red Hat. The great thing about Linux is its stability and security. I am already a Linux user, though I still have to use Windows in order to design games with Game Maker. I also really like KDE's workstation-switching feature. It's very helpful to be able to have two different things on two different workstations instead of crowding everything on one desktop.
  5. Most game creation utilities are not really good, mostly because the majority of them are only able to create one specific type of game. However, Game Maker is very diverse.Game Editor is also an OK game creation utility, though it still needs some work (like a help file explaining how to use it ). The great promising feature of Game Editor is the ability to cross platforms, allowing you to create a game on over 5 platforms, including Windows, Linux, and Mac OS X. If I was actually able to use it, I would possibly prefer it to Game Maker. But, as it happens, I find it very confusing, so I remain with Game Maker.
  6. Subscribing to important topics is really helpful. It could also help to bookmark key topics.
  7. I am personally a bit insecure myself. Just be patient, talk to him often, and try hard not to make him feel bad. One thing you should keep in mind: Do not bring up under any circumstances bring up his insecurity. Doing this will just make him more insecure and he'll run out again.Another thing to keep in mind is that he is probably extremely nervous about asking you out. I myself am like that, where it takes every single ounce of courage I have to even talk to a girl. In the case that this guy is the same way, it might help if you ask him out instead of waiting for him to ask.Ignore his "bizarre" behavior. Under no circumstances should you even hint at it, because it may cause a really insecure person to collapse.I hope I've helped.--Jaychant

    Hey All!

Hey, I'm Jaychant! I'm seriously into game development and lead a small game development team called Dark Fairy Games. I also enjoy playing games, which is actually why I started getting into game development in the first place. My favorite kinds of games to create are RPGs (because I get to implement a complex storyline) and space shooters (because they're so fun to play ). Besides game development, I also really like to listen to music. My favorite artists are Eminem and Chamillionaire. I especially like Leave Yourself by Eminem and Ridin' by Chamillionaire. As you can tell, I like Hip Hop more than any other kind of music. And I saved this for the very end... how silly of me! You've probably already read "Jaychant" completely wrong! Jaychant is a shortened version of my name (which I will not announce here ), and it's pronounced: [JAY-shaunt] (sounds like "Jay Shot", but with an N between the O and the T).
