Healthy, Savoury Oat Breakfast (japanese-style)
polly-ester replied to bishoujo's topic in Health & Fitness
I am sure Japanese food is very delicious, and healthy. In Sweden, we also eat oats porridge, however, we do not like to add fish to our porridge, but we prefer to add sugar and milk. we also make rice porridge, especially at Christmas. We serve rice porridge with sugar and milk also. We also like to sprinkle ground cinnamon on our porridge. -

Things That Currently Annoyes Me Feel free to breath your mind

The weather is not a problem, I am having a problem with bread. In sweden we have a tradition with sweet bread. The white bread is not sweet but the rye bread is traditionally sweet. And now we also have a tradition with bread having silly names. First there was a bread called "Baked Longing" or possibly "Baked Yearning", I am looking this up, now there is also Seriously Good, and Luxury, and Harvest Joy, and Harmony. I am translating from Swedish. These are just a few examples. I refuse to buy any of those breads. Besides it is basically the same bread, but with different, silly names. I have started to spend a lot of money on expensive bread with french and italian names. From the bake off shelves. Do you have the same problems in your countries? Do your bread also have silly names? -
I usually drink a lot of Yogi tea (a brand name) my favourite taste is Green Chai it is spicy with about 10 percent green tea, the rest is spices. I also drink Evening relaxation tea and Womans fitness tea. I recommend Green Chai, Jamaica and Traditional Chai, but I dont recomment Sweet Chili or any of the teas that contain liquorize root. At least if you are not particularily fond of liquorize root. Green Chai is great. Evening relaxation tea is a little bit relaxing. If you drink mint tea you can cure headaches but you have to drink a lot of mint tea, not just one cup.

What Do You Think Of The Books I Own? my favorite books
polly-ester replied to quiksilver's topic in General Discussion
All books by Douglas Adams are good books. I recommend also Dirk Gentlys Holistic Detective Agency and The long dark tea time of the soul. The protagonist in both those books are Dirk Gently. He is up to many things. -
I am reading Never let me go by Kazuo Ishiguro, a book about a boarding school. All the pupils are orphans and there are some other things that they have in common, but you are not sure what. The story takes place in England in the 1970's and some 15 years later it continues. The book was mysterious and has a special atmosphere that can not be described.

In Stockholm there is a moroccan restaurant, but I was broke when I went there, so only had some green beans but they were *very* tasty. The beans were great. I wish I had the recipe. -

I think the cous cous should be steamed in case you want to make it the proper way. Also it is important to add the proper spices, and chick peas is good to make the meal more substantial. In sweden we have some kind of frozen tv dinner that is supposed to be Moroccan style. It is based on chicken and vegetables and raw rice and is called something like "Moroccan style orange chicken". It is rather good actally. I wish I had the recipe.
