  1. In my opinion, weightlifting is the ultimate stress reliever. Theres nothing like going out into the garage (i call it the temple of iron) and blasting my heaviest metal/rock music as loud as possible and throwing around big masses of iron. when im in the gym, i can release all of my anger into that lump of weight, no matter how your day was or is going, there's always release in the weight room. Out there, you dont have to worry about being judged by ANYONE but yourself. you are free to sweat your butt off and not worry about who it offends, who thinks its nasty, or so on and so fourth... thats one of the main reasons I lift in a garage and not a real gym-- the gyms of today are filled with nothing but skinny, crybabies who know nothing about real work. I recently read an article about some chains of gyms in the US having stupid rules against grunting!!!! GRUNTING!!! I couldnt believe my eyes!!! grunting!!! Let me be the first to say, if your not making some sort of grunting sound or heavy breathing, then YOUR NOT WORKING HARD ENOUGH!!!!!!!! What is hard work you ask??? hard work is busting your butt EVERY time you step in front of the rack... grinding out every rep till the edge of pain.... killing yourself over the most minute detalis of a lift -- thats what makes a real man.... a real hardworker shows up EVERY time and then some. when a guts out session calls, they are the first in line with buckets in hand! -- just askin for more punishment... thats what we do. In short, the gym is a sort of sanctuary for those of us who crave the iron and the pain that accompanies it, its a place of mental realease... where you can work things out mentally and realease anger and fear and pain and anyother feeling that fuels you in the weightroom. If you put that much passion and feeling and emotion into every lift, then afterwards, after the workouts, after all of the pain... you will feel SO refreshed and most of all STRONG mentally and physically, then you realize just how great it is to be alive and well and you enjoy the great things in life with that much more passion and strength.
  2. if your one of those people like me who work on different computers everyday (be it school, work, home, library, etc.), then you should be entrigued by the variety of software available for installation and execution off of a removeable or portable drive at portable apps's website (just google it). everythings free, and it is all portalbe, very useful software, even not so useful stuff (but who doesnt like to screw around everyonce in a while on a computer with cool programs?!?). its very cool, you start off with a "start menu" for your flash--- you just let your flash auto run, and it pulls up a start menu just for your drive... with all of your programs and docs and stuff. just download and follow the instructions on the site, they are VERY good! now your set, you can get firefox portable for those people who want to take their internet bookmarks with them or for those stupid website blocks on the work or school computers, you can get around them with this! you can also get games, anti virius, wordprocessing, media players (these are TEN MILLION times better than windows media player or other similar programs! they will play ANYTHING!!) you can even get a trial of "mac on a stick" which is an older version of the mac operating system on your flash!! so go to portableapps.com and enjoy!!
  3. If you have ever wanted to sync your personal calendar to your ipod, but either dont use/have microsoft outlook, or just dont like either of them, (like me) then there is actually a way to sync almost any desktop calendar to your ipod using google calendar as a "stepping stone". Basically gcal has a built in feature that will sync your desktop calendar to google... this is normally useful if you want to be able to view your calendar anywhere you have internet and want to make changes and have them take place on your normal calendar. but for our purposes, you want to sync to gcal and then enable the calendar for sharing through ical (youll find out how to do that in the "settings" section of your google calendar) when you enable sharing through ical, you have to be willing to accept the fact that your calendar will be listed on the google search pages if some one happens to stumble apon your url... but for most people, this is not a problem and nobody will probabily ever stumble apon your url anyway because its so long and complicated, that you'd have to get pretty lucky if you ask me!! anyway, when ical is enabled, it will give you the url for your calendar-- save this, you'll need it later. now your going to want to download a small desktop program called "spongecell" (google it!).. sponge cell comes with free trial of their calendar program but we are already hooked up so we dont need that but you do need to sign up for an account (it is free though) so that you have a user name and password..., so once you download, (the coool thing is that it can be installed on a portable drive also if you want to sync from different computers) you want to go to settings, and erase the url for their calendar in the top field, and put your ical url that you saved earlier in to the box for other calendar types on the bottom of the screen. whollla! now all you do is connet the ipod, the program will recognize the ipod drive name (did i mention that you need to have disk use enabled on the ipod) and hit sync and the program will get a copy of your ical off-line and sync it to your ipod! presto! now just update the calendar when you need and hit sync and there you go!
  4. I recently purchased an ipod nano and I have to say that it is an awesome upgrade from the one gig mp3 player that I used to have! I am very happy with the whole iTunes set up and its funny but that and the safari download that came with it, has convinced me to buy a mac book which is on its way as I type! Anyway, I got my ipod and suddenly my little brother and sister, and parents were hogging it so they all ended up purchasing a cheaper conventional mp3 players (sansa 140 or something like that) the problem was that the mp3 players were only compatible with windows media player, which we all know is a useless program and a severe wast of time! so I began looking into getting them to work with itunes and im finding out that it doesn't officialy work, which is crap!! first of all, windows media player and iTunes dont play nicely on the same computer (they fight over default player, AND music files!) and second of all, media player just doesnt work worth a hoot! so I came across a little plug in for itunes that requires the.NET framework and then installs in minutes called "iTunes Agent" (just google it!).... this program is AWESOME, it will convert any mp3 player to work with playlists in itunes! the documentation says only select brands of mp3 players, but as long as you know how to use the device manager in windows to convert from UMS ( the format for portable media players that doesnt work anyway most of the time) to MSC, which is basically a removable drive like a flash drive, then you can convert and use itunes agent to identify, sync and maintain your different mp3 players! and dont worry, if your not computer savvy and dont feel comfortable reformatting, just google it and you'll find alot of help! the possibilities to mp3 players is endless and you'll save alot of money if you dont want to buy and ipod, but still want to use the best media player on the net!
  5. so I recently downloaded firefox portable for my flash drive. I have to say that I was never a fan of firefox... I run windows, but use safari and I really like it, one of the major reasons I didnt like firefox was because of the way it displayed my website... It basically destroyed it!!! anyway, recently I was looking for a portable browser for my flash drive.... and all I could find for free was firefox! so i got it and scepticaly ran it for the first time.... by the way, at first it didnt come up, so i forgot about and opened safari, and like 5 minutes later it finally opened! what a piece of crap!!! anyway, i close it and am about to delete it when i come across a fix for the flash that will speed it up and sure enough firefox suddenly is quicker... later im screwing around with it and discover the add ons and plugins, and i got to say it is pretty cool..... I even got a skin to make it look like safari!! so long story short, this new firefox portable is pretty awesome, you can save your bookmarks and other data on your flash and if your school or work computer has internet blocks, you can just browse from your flash and get around all of that!!

  7. I posted a free hosting account request on the 27 of last month, I still haven't got a reply, when I go in and look at my request post I notice that EVERYONE before AND after me was at reviewed, and most of them accepted! Can anyone please tell me why mine seems to have been skipped!?!? I've been really anxious to get my website up and running on the web, but it seems i've been completely ignored in the process! Im starting to wonder why i'm wasting my time here!
  8. I sure am glad that the patriots were embarrased in the superbowl... it was very rewarding to me to see a team who claims to be the best, but seems to need to cheat and beat on all of the little teams in the league, just for the fun of it, to see them go down so dramatically. to me it was better to go undefeated all the way through the regular and post seasons and lose in the big game than it would have been if they'de been beat by the Dolphins! I know this topic is going to stirr up alot of different opinions, but i wanna hear them! so bring ' em on! -- who else hates the patrionts???
  9. googlemail is a free email server with unlimited inbox space.. .all you do is sign up for it from the google search engine page, once signed up you can set your settings to an IMAP server. it works VERY well and is very easy to connect to from microsoft outlook and other external programs, it is even advertised to be compatible with blackberrries, iphones and most other cellphones with internet access. -- hope that helped!
  10. if you subscribe to google for an account, they will provide unlimited storage space because of an awesome feature which lets you archive all of your messages rather than deleting them... you simply move them from your inbox to the archive folder. that and its FREE! you just signup for the account and instantly have access to googlemail and tons of other google services like adsense, adwords, and blogger. really cool
  11. I agree with HIIT (high intensity interval training) -- it makes sense because it forces your body to constantly adapt to new contidions. thats one of the most basic principals of exercise... change up the rutine, so the body is constantly forced to adapt and overcome, then once it does get used to something, you change it and force it to exert more energy to adapt again--- only for you to change it up again! there fore it makes sense that HIIT would burn way more fat and calories than regular cardio... there was also a similar study that suggested that HIIT would better preserve lean muscle than regular cardio, which is very good for those of you out there looking to put on every ounce of muscle possible!
  12. with your fitness, you have to learn to read your own body language.... let your body tell you when you have had enough. If you think your exausted, thats just you hard breathing getting to your head! dont let pain or soreness stop you from working even harder- when its time to stop, you should be both mentally AND physically sure. I know all of that sounds confusing, but its sort of an aquired feeling... it comes with expirience and the lessions learned from screwing up... when you learn your body, and its limits, then you can begin to push beyond those limits and you begin to discover that those limits weren't your limits at all, only that your true limit is much higher than you probabily imagined!

  14. A good website can be anything you enjoy or it can offer a needed public service. the cool thing is that you can earn money either way if you know the way to go (google adsense seems to be pretty good) really all you have to do is make you site appealing to the audience you want to reach.... take advantage of todays technology, there's HTML, XML, XHTML, Javascript, CSS, DHTML, PHP, SSI, CGI, Pearl, Ajax, gAjax, C++, and ALOT of other programming languages that can be used on the modern web.... also there's millions of sites that offer help or even courses for free to learn any or all of these programming languages. Its funny, alot of the time, if you want something online, if you search enough, you'll find that all you have to do is ask! and its possible to get alot for free! Google is a company who offers alot of webdesign help for free, as well as many helpful services and tools to help you succeed. along with these free tools comes free ware you can find on sites such as sourceforge.net, and others, who offer freeware such as FTP programs, HTML and XML validators and editors, and other useful programs like that personally the best text editor that can be used to write or edit almost all of the programming languages involved is Notepad++, which is also free ware and is AWESOME. really all you have to do to be successful in webdesign is to expiriment and learn!
  15. I dont see why it would be a bad idea, but only if you've got a relative small or medium size of data to store.... really all you would have to do is email or attach to an email the data you want to store to your self, and then just archive the email, afterall, gmail does give you unlimited space to archive your messages anyway!
