  1. There seems to be quite a bit of misunderstanding with the price of the iPhone that Apple have presented. It costs $199 for a 4GB 3G version IF you take a contract with a telecommunications company of which only AT&T, T-Mobile and O2 are avaliable otherwise you can't get one. Only a 30% of the devices are unlocked to work for any network provider. It will also take quite a long time before you can buy it without a contract...
  2. I personally love Gmail. Its spam filter has always been every accurate for me and there are NO ads on their site either which is great. Live mail and Yahoo are pretty cluttered up in their interfaces. I also like Gmail since I can skin it using a Firefox extension called FireBug. Currently, however, I am using the RoundCube Webmail client to manage all my e-mail accounts, it's excellent! Just have a look at their website (Link) if your interested.
  3. Wow! The amount of detail in that vector is astonishing and you did it in only 40 hours?! You could put that into a photograph and not know whether it's fake. Did you use a graphics tablet to help draw the shapes? I have been considering getting one recently.I usually don't go vectors but I also ended up doing a vexel (a worked vector) image for my art class as well. ;)Congragulations on your perfect grade, you really have some talent and experience! I would give you 40 out of 20 if I could. I think that a shadow under the car wouldn't look too nice unless he added a background as well to make it look real.
  4. R-Studio (Link) is one of the best tools around to recover deleted/lost data. I have used it before to recover some of my school work - my final art exams were taking place and my Photoshop files just disappeared on my USB memory stick and in only 5 minutes I managed get the file back for submission! Secondly, I highly recommend that you use Acronis for backups since I have used it for about 5 years and it just keeps getting better.
  5. The sense referred to as your 6th sense is usually the ability to feel the presence of objects and moving things in the environment. It can take place due to a sense of heat or sound but recently scientists have proven that the brain produces enough electrical activity and considering it is highly sensitive it can possibly detect the presence of other objects nearby. For example, when you are near someone and they start to laugh it can make you laugh as well - not necessarily because it's funny but because our brains can communicate enough to induce the other person to laugh . It has not been proven to work 100% of the time and there is not much evidence to back it up even now so it is not regarded as an official sense. I do however believe it exists since I can feel things coming somethings but I would not take that too far personally for my own safety - seeing ghosts is ridiculous nonsense! No one has ever managed to provide concrete evidence to show that ghosts exist.
  6. New online services have been set up that transit your message from their station using a form on their website. You can just Google Search for "free SMS over internet" or something else of the kind . One of the reliable services I have found is text4free.net. They can send SMS on a huge range of providers and even have a online provider checker - when you send an SMS you need to know the network provider of the recipient and the online checker can do this for you! They also allow you to send pictures, videos and music files. Their website also allows you to use their simple form for your personal use as well provided that you keep a link back to them.
  7. Wow! Thanks for the enlightenment. I have used JavaScript before but there are just so many operators which provide quite a huge number of possibilities and can dramatically increase the functionality of your website. However quite a lot of people don't trust Java since it can be used in wrong and harmful ways. Nonetheless, I recommend that people check out the W3Schools website to help learn java as it is an well crafted resource for beginners. After you start to get the hang of it you'll wish that you learned it earlier.
  8. The process of web design has changed quite bit now - for the good that is. Graphics designers usually create layouts and designs in photoshop. Then these templates are cut into pieces to be put into DIV tags usually in XHTML and the design details done in CSS. It is quite a lengthy process however it does allow you to think out side of the box and then try to make the design work but artists never want to think about functionality - they prefer having no boundaries. This makes the job of coders difficult but after spending some time thinking you can usually figure out how it would go together. I haven't come across any design that I have seem which I have have thought to be impossible - you just need to think logically. Here is a website of 39 services that turn Photoshopped designs to XHTML and CSS - link. If you are struggling and need help dont be afraid to send me a PM.
  9. I am willing to help, you can just PM me the files. I have am relatively new here but I do have 5 years of actual work experience as a graphics designer. I have a fluent at HTML (its not great for web design), XHTML, CSS, PHP, AJAX (Javascript) and designing Web 2.0 styles. ASP .NET is quite old now and I dont recommend it to anyone for web design. AJAX backed websites with liquid % layouts in XHTML and CSS usually look far more professional and they do make a more beautiful interface for you visitors.
  10. If you have a HDTV I highly suggest that you invest in a PlayStation 3 since the graphics are just awesome! I have been playing Need for Speed Pro Street recently and its almost like watching live television. The Blu-Ray reader is quite a sweet factor if you have a nice TV. I have seen on TV that the price in Europe has dropped from 600 euros to 400 euros. The Xbox 360 does have good graphics although the physics engine of the PS3 is just amazing. The main divide and pull factor for an Xbox 360 is that Microsoft have made some must-have game exclusive such as Halo 3.
  11. The iPhone 2.0 is very a deal however it is $199 WITH a contract that bonds you to AT&T which only operates in the US. I'm not sure whether they are any Europian carriers that will agree to such contracts with Apple , of course some carrier will supply it since it sells . I have heard though that it can't make sure of video calling on the 3G network it supports. The camera I must admit is also kind of weak in comparison to most new phones but it is indeed for everyone. Its a great phone but its far away from my HTC Touch Diamond (I could have bought an iPhone) since its not a PDA phone and I cant use C, C++ and .NET to create software - I am a programmer. Then again, the iPhone is not made as a PDA phone but Apple keeps on rolling out one innovation after another.
  12. I have a new HTC Touch Diamond. Its a PDA Phone with Windows Mobile 6.1 Professional that has been uppated by HTC using their HTC TouchFlo 3D navigation which is extremely finger friendly. With most PDAs you have to use the stylus to carry out most tasks although this makes it very easy to use, it has a stylus as well. Lots of people have complained or looked down at its low battery rating however I can assure you this is no issue - I dont have to recharge for 3 days. I usually keep the screen off when I am not using it and the high speed USB cable can recharge you phone at the same time as connecting it to the PC. Even though it lacks an expansion slot it still has 4.2 GB total space . Its a great phone and I have also been brief on its features. Its also worth its price (525 euros with Route66) since most PDAs start from around 300-400 euros.
