you can probably hit a fn function key to play around with the screen display. You probably somehow hit a key that inverted it. If not, unscrew the keyboard and hinge cover and make sure the cable is seated properly. How hard did the keyboard get hit?

hmm..good thing im not using any of those antivirus programs. Sounds like more M$ crap with them having select compatibility. Luckily my Vista Ultimate upgraded with SP1 is at a point where everything works and I am not bothered by any of its discussed problems.

I always knew it was a good to eat fruits and vegetables! I don't think you should just eat these to try to diet. These are only a couple categories of the food pyramid. I see it as just meaning that its ok to pig out on this stuff. But just like anything else, you need a balance.

Firefox Firefox Firefox!! Like others have said, it is the best browser out there because of the customization abilities. It is open source and we all know that leads to better products. IE is just so plain since we are used to firefox these days. There is no way I can see IE ever being the dominant browser again.

i think they are neat. I think they are only good for certain applications however. They are real small and the ability to upgrade is very limited as well. They are pretty expensive as well.

why would anyone want to take away the ability to boot to safe mode lol. It is a vital tool in computer troubleshooting imho.

Your card my not support very advanced features. I don't know the specifics of your card but all the S3 cards ive seen are integrated into system boards, which are always limited in performance and features.

I do warranty work on dells and sometimes there are sometimes an extra slow on the bottom for a secondary battery. You can go to support.dell.com and should be able to pull up a manual for your model to help locate this. Sometimes ac adapters get shorts in them also. It is very common. Play with the connector but don't bend it too much. Sometimes you can find a sweet spot where the cord likes to be. If your computer detects your ac adapter and it still won't charge, you may need a new battery. Make sure you get a new one from Dell cause other brands aren't garanteed to be detected, thus being unable to charge.

This is a very good set of points to follow when trying to work on your body. I can personally agree with all those points. They do work, it is just very hard to stick to them!

I worked on one of these today. A very solid performer and all around laptop. It is definately a lot better than the newer models they are coming out with. The hinge covers are big and ugly and the antenna wiring is a pain to re-route.

I would get the Dell and a wireless N card for the future if possible. It wouldn't hurt to get a better processor. And unless your running a 64-bit OS, your not gonna see more than 3.5~ gigs, so 3gb is fine in my opinion. You won't know the difference between 3 and 4. Try to get a 3 year inhome warranty if it isn't too much of a difference. I do warranty work for dell and you never know when something might crap-out. Warranties are always something to not skimp on.

I know people that smoke cause it keeps them skinny (mostly girls). Also, some people may have innate oral fixations. If they can't chew on pens, they smoke. If they can't smoke, they bite their nails. I never touched the stuff and can't stand people who smoke. You can show me the finest girl in the world and if she smokes, I won't go near her. Just gross chemicals...
