  1. My aunty used to work with children wiuth disabilities. I don't think I ever could, I'm not against disabled people but it would just be so sad being around them all the time. Having said that, most of them hate for you to feel sorry for them.Autistic children are normally really gifted in one area, but lack knowledge in others. the most common case is being very gifted in maths. I know an autistic person who could tell you any sum in a batter of seconds, just ask him 546 X 812 and he could do it like that *clicks fingers*It must be hard to work with people like that, but I admire the people who do, especially those who do it as volountary work.
  2. I had heard this once before, and I was surprised to find it actually worked.I don't know how it works because your supposed to try anbd carry the dream on, but in actual fact the dream only happens within the 1st 10 seconds of the dream. Your dream may seem to last ages, but its just your mind playing tricks, when you go into a deep sleep, about 20-30 seconds after you fall asleep, then the dream ends, and your mind is just blank until you awake.I dunno how it works, but it does.Thanks.
  3. I believe that dreams are warnings of what is to come (if you can nterpret them correctly) I often have dreams about falling, and waking up just as you are about to hit the bottom. I actually got bored one day and (This is how sad I am) I looked it up on google, to see what it meant. During this google search I found many sites about teeth falling out, this is a common dream and teeth represent friends apparantly. Above is a complete copy+paste from the website I found (Dreammoods.com) http://www.dreammoods.com/404.htm I hope thats helped. Notice from jlhaslip: Quote tags added. Copy and Paste is not allowed. 4. Dreaming The Future Many people believe that dreams are a warning of whats to come. I am one of these people. I believe that dreams are a sign, if you can interpret them correctly, you can know what to expect. I didn't used to be a believer, but strange things have happened to me, in the last 2 years or so, that have totally changed my opinion. Many people probably won't believe me on this, but I'm going to tell you a 100% true story about a dream I had, and what heppened. (This was about a year ago) I had a strange dream, I saw my grandad gardening, and he saw me, and started walking towards me. As he was walking towards me, he fell and got his foot caught in a hole, he couldn't move his foot. I thought this dream was a little odd, I had a talk with my mum about it, she convinced me that it was just my imagination, but then 2 weeks later, my grandad had his leg amputated. I remember my grandma coming up to us and telling us that he had been taken to hospital and is having his leg taken off, me and my mum instantly remembered the dream and looked at each othing in shock and dis belief. Eventually, we decided that there was no way this was real, and that perhaps it was a co-incidence... That was untill about a month later. I had another dream, it started out with my grandad with his leg stuck in the hole, the same way the last one had ended. As I reached out to him, to try and help him get out of the hole, he slipped and fell in the hole, and he couldn't get out. After I woke up, I was really scared, I wondered whether the last dream had been a warning, and this one too. I spoke with my mum about it, and she said that I was just being silly, but I could see in her eyes that she was worried. What should happen 2 weeks later but my grandad fall down the stairs. He had died. Since then I've been having strange dreams such as this, but that one was by far the most significant. I'd love to know if anyone else has had any similar experiences. Thanks.
  5. I agree that the parents should educate their children as to the dangers of fast food, and should not give in as easily. But when they say obesity in young children, they don't just mean little tots. Anyone up to the age of 16 is still considered a child, and so teens often contribute widely to the number of obese children. At this age the parents cannot be to blame, it is reccomended that you give teenagers freedom, and let them go out. If this happens, the parents cannot be blamed for giving in to their children when it comes to fast foods, because they are not there to be asked. It would be great if they taught children from a young age about the dangers of fast foods, maybe a topic in science. This would make children think about what they are eating before cramming it into their mouths.
  6. I have the same problem, no matter how much I eat I can never get full! Luckily, I have an extremly fast metabolism, so I never gain weight either. I never stop eating, it drives my mum mad, even as we speak im eating a bowl of Weatabix. There are a few solutions to stop you being hungry all the time. If you go into your local pharmacy you can pick up diet pills, that stop you feeling hungry. These should be used wisely though, as they can fool the body into thinking you don't need food when you do. You could also choose to eat healthy food, you still eat a lot but it won't do as much damage as eating junk food. I would not reccomend trying to stop this if you are a teen, or younger. just as Organized said, you grow till 21, and you should not gain weight if you eat till you are content- eat any more and you could put on wight, but just listen to your body. I choose to do neither, as I never put on weight anyway. I have never heard of anyone else with this same problem before, I really hate it when I eat so much, I just thank god for my fast metabolism, I eat loads and never put on wight. I'm one of those hateful people apparantly. Thanks.
  7. Im am certainly not considered fat, infact- you can see my ribcage even when I breathe out. I do, however have obese friends, and I think its terrible how everybody else looks down on them. One of them, for instance [i will not use the name] who is only 15 years old, and used to weigh 16 stone 9. He has lost a lot of weight since then, but he is still considered obese. Everybody in school makes fun of him, and to be honest, I don't think thats right. Having said that, I have a friend who used to be anorexic, and she used to be picked on a lot, people walking by used to pretend to vomit, I know it doesn't sound bad but when you think about it, she was going through a lot by being anorexic, it doens't help when people poke fun at you. Fat or skinny... What does it matter? People should put aside their differences and just get along. But then again, no world can ever be perfect, I suppose its one of those things that just can't be changed.. Well, thats my opinion, I'd like to see what the rest of you think, so keep posting. Thanks.
  8. Obesity in young children. Obesity seems to be a growing concern, particularly in England and America. Obesity in young children seems to be an even bigger concern. Some people beleive that it is the parents fault, for letting their children eat 'Junk food.' Some people think that the fast food industry is to blame, for advertising their foods without mentioning that it is in-fact an un-healthy option. But whose fault is it really? .:.Parents.:. I understand why people think that the parents could be to blame, they should be aware of the content in foods such as McDonalds, or Burger king. Because the kids may not be aware, the parents should be responsible for making sure that their children get the nutrition they need, and that they are healthy. But is it really the parents fault? When their children are out with friends, they may choose to go to a fast food restaraunt for dinner, the parents cannot be at fault if the children are out with friends, they cannot possibly keep their children in sight at all times, children need freedom (To a certain extent.) So lets explore the other possibilities. .:.Fast Food Industry.:. Many people blame the fast food industry. They should warn people in the adverts, that the food they produce is of high fat/salt content. Children today aren't aware of the dangers of junk food. They don't necessarily choose to eat junk food because it tastes nicer, but more the way it is promoted. Children see eating as a social occasion; and children see the contradiction between what is promoted in theory and what adults provide in practice. Children do not see it as their role to be interested in health; children do not see messages about future health as personally relevant or credible; fruit, vegetables and confectionery have very different meanings for children; children actively seek ways to exercise their own choices with regard to food. .:.The Children.:. Whilst most people believe that it is the parents, or the fast food industry that are to blame, there are a few who beleive it is the childrens fault. It should be their responsibility to check what they are eating, and be aware of the risks. Most children are aware of the risks, but then choose to have the food anyway. The fast food industry provide the food, btu don't we all have the power to say 'No'? Aren't we all responsible for our own health? We are not obliged to buy the food, just because it is there. The fast food industry only produce the food, but this does not mean that the children MUST gorge themselves. Obesity is a growing concern, and there are many theories as to why the numbers of obese children are growing. There is no real answer to this dabat, but I would love for this topic to turn into a debate, and we can hear different views from different people. Thank you.
