  1. I can already imagine a MiniUSB pendrive with 100-200 GB of data storage :)I really like those mini Thumb drives.. I keep buying them anywhere I find , in my city :)NEways.. I am also feeling like a looser. I just upgraded my system and chances are I wont be upgrading it for two years atleast .. :DI wish i had waited..And yes they are Two USB i guess anyone can clearly count the Connector pins at the bottom .. They are 10 Five for each USB..Hope its backward compatible though ..

  2. Are you sure its AVG.EXE ????? Coz even I am using Kaspersky 2009 and I dont see any by the name 'AVG.EXE'I can see an 'ALG.exe' and one 'AVP.EXE'the AVP.EXE is a process from Kaspersky.. Are you sure your antivirus is up to date .. ??I'll suggest you download a program called Daphne (google for it) and then run and see what process is using the CPU and where is it located ?Task Manager doesn't do that.. it wont show where the program is running from.. Daphne does that..If its from System or System32 folder inside windows it could be a Trojan/Virus

  3. @ SAINT MICHAEL - Its a server based authentication and the Rights are controlled by server ( like in any company ). I dont want to remove my record from any of the servers. Its just that I dont want other ppl to see what all computers I use. The "last user name" problem is fixed. Is there a way to delete the files or if possible not create the profile files at all on the system i LOG into :)Thanks all :)

  4. laniczech is right .. HTC does make some good phones.. I have just got a P3300. I believe you feel kind of free once you get a WinMo fone. I was using a Linux based phone earlier (MotoMing). It was great but just didn't have wifi and it needed a better battery. I can say if motorola improves on its battery , It can produce better phones :)

  5. Hey joeblogg.. I've had bad experiences with other phones also.. I like Motorola .. It makes pretty decent phones.. Its not as bad as Nokia whose customer support doesn't even answer calls.. And RAZR has a pretty decent Camera.. Guess you haven't seen the phones from Nokia in the same category.. That is what crap is.. NOKIA doesn't build up phones for reliability , they make phone's for cheating ppl, If it runs properly its your luck otherwise you are ought to run into bugs .. they don't even give you proper support.. and when you ask them what that is they'll probably say its a software bug and that you must have installed some third party application (this is the only reason they know)My friend once bought a 3650. It was a symbian based phone. It only worked for 2 days and after that It didn't even power up. We tried everything .. The Customer support kept telling us that its under repair.. Finally, One of their Big Service centre (after FOUR months) said that they cannot fix it since its some motherboard related issue and offered us 60 % of the money ( price at that time in market) :)I personally would have killed that b*****d but my friend chose not to. He decided to switch to SE and then later switched to a motorola which is still in working condition (after 4 yrs)Buy any Nokia phone and ask for a software update.. Atleast in My country they need around 20-30 days to do this job .. Which I guess I can do in about 20-30 minutes :) ..Its not like Motorola is making great phones but it does offer some decent customer support.. I had a Ming which I just sold (Although it was pretty good phone but the battery life was bad) NEways.. The point is You can never judge a Company by the way they sell their products , Its the after sales support and the customer support that defines it.. Now Nokia has all the illiterate ppl as far as my knowledge goes.. Since they doen't even talk to you properly and they even hang up on you :D

  6. Although Nokia makes only CRAP .. You can go for any phone with Symbian or Windows Mobile. It will have an option to add an Adobe Lite Edition.btw.. Java Versions of the Adobe reader softwares are not that friendly. They tend to get stuck (run out of memory or something ) if the file size it big like 8-9 MB.. LE doesn't

  7. I enjoyed it .. It was fun playing it.. But then in the end i realized its only the first in a three or more series. Its no fun to wait for a game. The second part is in production and will be available by the end of next year :DThis is bad. ppl at Ubisoft should work faster. Or may be they should hire me  I might help then I hope they release it on time and this one doesn't get delayed like Splinter Cell:conviction ^_^

8. hey gameratheart, first of all sorry for the late reply.. I was a bit busy with some project work NEways, I think the problem is with windows only.. I can offer three solutions 1.) I was working on a Vista based system and I found something Actually good about Vista. If you have a limited account and you try and access some feature that is beyond your limitations (like a drive) it will first try and get authentication rights for the drive automatically.. This is not there in Windows XP This is what I would suggest. Unshare all your drive. It might sound crazy but try it. And then make all the folders (probably except the ones that are for individual users) visible to everyone by changing the Security settings for each folders and allowing full control to 'Everyone'. (You have to disable simple file sharing options in folders option to do this)This might help solve the problem.2.) If above doesnt work You can try and switch back to SP2. It might be a permission related issue.3.)Switch to some other OS.. Try Vista

  9. Thanks Saint Michael :angry:I guess Windows 7 is worth the wait.. But at the same time I am hoping it has lesser bugs than Windows Vista(when it was released). Even the Ultimate version of Vista has a lot of bugs.. Two of my friends have Vista Ultimate - The strange thing is .. One who actually bought Vista Ultimate has a severe problem with it , Explorer keeps crashing every now and then; and the other who  DOWNLOADED ^_^ it has no problems .. :DNEways .. I hope Windows 7 doesn't have any flavors as with the Vista and is cheap .. I can't understand why Microsoft ppl price their products so ridiculously  even when their product has more bugs than actual useful programs

  10. MP4 is basically a container. You can define the various options for the type of Audio and Video in it. If you put something wrong, you end up with a screwed up file. NEways the problem with Earhart is , probably the screen size has been defined wrong or may be the fps speed is wrong. In any case if he uses a better tried option like Xilisoft or ImToo .. That might help. oh.. and for iPod it uses H.264 .. I guess. Pls correct me if I am wrong It could be that the converting software might have used a Divx or something else.. thats how it played on the iTunes and not on iPod

  11. whenever i put a dvd or cd in my dvd drive i can't view it. i can burn stuff to the dvd but i can't go onto the files like on my computer. its really anoying. i think usb's are way easier to use. if only you could plug them into the tv so you can watch movies from your usb on the tv.

This happened to me also.. Are you using Nero 8 with InCD ??

because InCD does these things.. NEways Try uninstalling your writting application and then check your DVD

    Hopefully it should work fine

  12. Great :lol:I am using MP150Works like a charm.. It wont clog but you might end up spending some extra on the cartridges .. One advice though.. Dont use the Refill option for this because of two reasons. 1.) It will affect your printing head if the INK is not made for this printer 2.) Printer might show you empty INK even if the INK is full (Happened to me initially and then i stopped going for the refills)AND IT DOES PRINT PHOTOS ^_^ INFACT GREAT PHOTOSI use it all the timeTry finding Canon Photo papers... I can't seem to find any over here. So i use desmat.. Happy Printing

  13. I believe this topic was made ages ago, and my issue with Vista installation was done. I am still using Windows XP Home Edition, so this thread can be closed now.
    -Sky

well.. Did you even try to check whether your system is compatible with Vista or NOT ??

Because it happened to me and my system was not compatible(Graphics Card) so I had to upgrade

    Thanks anyways

  14. I can't find the Ubuntu Live USB edition on the site. Is it supposed to be on the CD ?

I have ordered for the CD. It'll take around 3-4 weeks.

    btw

    -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

There's another Ubuntu flavor up for download Ubuntu Studio (http://ubuntustudio.org/

Guess it would be good if someone can try it and tell us if that can be installed on a pen-drive or not

  15. Hi , I need to know if theres a way to remove traces of a log-on from a system. OS is win XP. I tried googling and so far I know how to disable the Last Logon on the system. I am authorized to work on Any computer system but I don't want the other people to know where all I have worked. Whenever we log-in on a system a new personal settings, folders, etc are created for each user. Is there an option in XP where we can remove those. Pls reply.. Thanks

  16. Motorola E8 Rokr - as a modem

Connect To Internet Using Your Cell Phone

Alright Guys... I need some advice on this.. Please feel free to contact me. I am in the USA ofcourse. I have a current account with T-Mobile on a family plan of 700 mins. At the end of the month I am left over with tons of minutes being that I basically use my phone for text messaging. I hardly use it for calling and when I do, I basically call a bunch of Tmobile customers so my calls are automatically free between mobile to mobile.

So now the interesting part is... A Tmobile user said that Tmobile had internet service and you could use you phone as a modem with a data plan with the provider (as an addon). But I already have Broadband super fast internet at home, why pay alot more for wireless addon for more of the cost than DSL or Cable as an extra.

My MotoRokr being a modem, with that being said. I searched the internet for answers since I couldn't get a clearer answer than that. I did some research, and found that I could use my phone as a modem, but I would need three basic things, 1. USB DATA Cable, which is what I use to put music on my phone, pictures, videos and so forth, plus to charge it. 2. I had to download two files. RSDLite 3.1 or higher but try to avoid 4.1!! install it, and 3. Handset USB Driver and install it.

Make sure your phone is charged. In your phone go to Settings, Connections, USB Cable settings (change to MODEM). Plain and simple! Meaning, the USB cable will be used to connect to my cell/modem, instead as a charger or transfer cable.

Now having youself dial up service... Earthlink, AOL, Local dial up ISP's. Go in there and change modem settings to the CELLPHONE as a modem. Put in your ISP username and pw and telephone number you usually dial to go online.

In your computer.. You can just open your IE Browser, go into tools, internet options then chose Connections, make sure you have your cell as a modem listed in there. Once its set.. Your are ready to go online...

To go online using your cell, go thru Start, Connect to, chose the provider you use (that you edited using your cell/modem settings). And your done.

Now my only question is... And Tmobile couldnt give me a straight answer is... Me using my PHONE as a modem to connect to a LOCAL ISP number (dialup) is it only gonna charge me the MINUTES I'm using thru my cell phone to call that local number? or will it charge me for KB's downloaded?

And since I have free nights and weekneds, will it be free to use my phone as a modem during that time? Tmobile wanted me to get the InternetData add on plan for like $20 or $30.00 more as a Contract of so long!

I hooked up to Earthlink earlier using my Moto Rokr cell, my connection said it was at 961.6 kbps. Thats nearly 1mb per second? I went into chat, I was web browsing, course it wasnt as fast as DSL, but it beat my speed of dial up from a house phone line!

So Basically, my question is... Using my cell phone as a modem to go online, thru my DIAL UP INTERNET SERVICE PROVIDER, will it charge me other than just the minutes I am online? or will it charge me for the DATA download, even tho I'm not using Tmobile wireless internet?

And Second question is.. During my free nights and weekend minutes, will it be free? I guess, I'll ill just have to check it out myself to see. I'll have to try a prepaid Tmobile now that they have Pay by the Day, 1.00 a day, plus 10 cents a minute for calls out of the Tmobile network, and free NIGHTS starting at 7pm to 7am. Ill try and let yall know.. Contact me if you wanna discuss this with me.

If you are calling an outside number with your phone - basically using your phone as a modem to dial a number and then connect to internet, you will be charged for the call to the number. The call charges would depend upon the plan you are using. It can be a local call/ inter-state call depending upon the location of the server you've called. Basically a modem dial-up is what you are using. Difference is that you are using a mobile phone instead of dial-up phone.

There is another option. If you use a GPRS/EDGE from your phone to surf the internet. The speed would be slow but then you won't be charged for the call. Because now the traffic is not routed through the Normal call channel. Its using the GPRS path for internet.

Anyways, In your case I guess you will be charged depending upon the plan you are using.

your Local ISP charges would be additional IFF it charges you. I guess you must be already having an account thats why you were able to log in

I couldn't understand one thing. You said its giving you a speed of ~950 kbps .. I dont think its possible .. bcoz wireless Modems have a limitation of I guess 115 kbps .. Kindly correct me if I am wrong .

btw. . If you are getting that much speed .. NJoy ^_^

  17. Hi all, I need an Antivirus for My pen-drive that can run from my pen-drive and has option to update. If its able to boot an run that would be good, bcoz most of the viruses have dependencies on some dlls that get loaded during the start-up. On some of the PCs its not even allowing Command prompt I need to use this for my workplace. Most of the systems are getting infected because of all the different users using the system I even installed Avira Antivirus but since theres no internet over there, it couldn't update and Now the system is ruled by Viruses  I've even seen idiots disabling the antivirus and then using their pen-drives- accroding to them the system performance is improved by 50% I need this ASAP. So far I am not able to find any for the pen-drive Pls help Thanks

  18. After fighting with NewFolder.exe virus I decided that most of the antivirus are crap.I had bought Kaspersky but that also doesn't work sometimes.I am hoping a New Company to give a better Antivirus solution. Or may be ppl at NOD would improve their crappy engine (their 2.5 version was too good, dont know why the product degraded)

  19. hey Saitunes, Are you playing the audio coming from some source through some player ?I am sorry but couldn't understand the scenario properly.. If you are doing a mixing on the PC .. I've seen some metering add-ons for Virtual DJ If you are mixing the audio, outside PC, Like on a real turn-table, then pls tell me how you are playing on the PC ? I'll suggest something further if I get the scenario properly :lol:I can suggest you Sony Sound Forge as a post - processor. It contains the thing you are looking forLastly, If you are playing an audio file on PC. There is a plugin for WinAmp that Does the Job.If you can give me some idea on the connection/setup details I might help ^_^You might also consider some programmer to write this up for you. I am sure you'll find a friend who can do good Coding. Java / VB would do ..
