Our Morbid Lullaby It is a song i wrote for my band...
PingGolferS59 replied to fireofgoths's topic in Art & Creativity
I like your song I think is had a lot of meaning behind it and the listener can tell what you are trying to get off of the song. Here is a final I wrote for world at war tell me what you think of itThe statement Citizens can act as historians, is very true. I think everyone in the world can be a historian in some kind of way. In World War I Sgt. York was a thirty year old out of Tennessee who was drafted when we declared war on Germany. So he and the regiment were on their way and they got lose because the map was in French and they ended up right behind enemy lines. Germans turned the machine guns at their own people. They ended up killing some Americans but York?s commander told him to take out the machine and he did saving American lives from being killed. Sgt. York was just doing what he was told and ended up saving lives and it went down in history and he was awarded for his bravery. In World War II people that had nothing to do with the fighting at all ended up saving over 340,000 soldiers. When Germany and England were fighting at Dunkirk it was looking bad for the British and fisherman all over the see came to the rescuer to help save the soldiers. They didn?t have to do that but they did because it was the good thing to do. They risked their life to save soldiers and I think everyone should be glad for them because they helped save soldiers that helped us through out World War I and World War II.Robert McNamara who was the Secretary of Defense during The Vietnam War made that documentary of what he went through during the war. The movie educated the people who watched it and also let them see a side of McNamara most people never seen. He acted as a historian because he did things in Vietnam that made the outcome they way it was. There were some things he didn?t want to do but he did anyways. So Citizens can act as historians and they always will. There will be people in the world that will do things that have an impact on something whether is it a good thing or a bad thing.Black Jack Pershing was an individual who did great harm in World War I. When Wilson declared war on Germany Pershing was a General and he was appointed Commander in Chief of AEF. The battle of Meuse-Argonne was the only U.S. major battle. The United States won the battle and the Germans retreated. Their navy also quit and when the navy quits the soldiers quit and when the soldiers quit people quit. So Black Jack Pershing was an individual who did great good for us anyways he did great harms for the Germans. In World War II Oppenheimer was the scientist who led the Manhattan Project. He helped create the atomic bomb and he will go down in history for that. Oppenheimer did great good for us not too much for Japan. After both bombs were dropped the total count of people dead 120,00 and 100,00 injured. The bombs destroyed the town?s military centers and transportation centers. Oppenheimer helped us defeat the Japanese in World War II by getting the atomic bomb developed quickly.William Westmoreland who was the General who commanded Vietnam in June 1964. He wanted to send more troops to Vietnam and developing strategies in Vietnam. President Johnson disapproved of this and after Westmoreland stopped the Vietnamese TET Offensive William was replaced by General Creighton Abrams. When he returned to the U.S. he was appointed Chief of Staff of the U.S. army. So the statement individuals can do great harm and great good is true and it will be forever.Governments can do great harm and great good just like individuals. The Germany Army who was led by Kaiser Wilhelm. The German government did great harm through out the World War I and World II. The Germans wanted to take over Europe so they were attacking innocent countries just to have more territory trying to expand we call this imperialism. No one could stop the Germans the French tried to take Berlin and it was the worst day In French history. In four days 40,000 French were killed. Later on the Germans would be defeated, as we all know. After World War I Hitler was appointed Chancellor and he blamed the Jews for losing the war. So Hitler and his Nazi Party started the Final Solution, which was the Holocaust. The Holocaust is the systematic killing of over 6 million Jews and Gypsies. The put Jews in concentration camps and killed them just to get rid of them. Now if that isn?t great harm than none of us know what it is. A government that did Great good in my eyes was Ronald Reagan and His Administration. He helped end the cold war and stop Communism. Now there is still Communism around but not as much as there would be if the Soviet Union didn?t turn towards Democracy. After Vietnam the U.S. had a bad military because Jimmy Carter didn?t really care about the military he focused more on Human Rights. So when Reagan came in to Presidency he made the military very strong. So governments can do great harm and great good just like individuals. -
That poem was lame....Well here is something I want share I wrote this for my history class in Highschool...Take a LookThe year is 1939 and small towns are overrun by the Nazi Germans, using their fighting tactic, the blitzkrieg. Hitler continued to do this for the next two years, Town after town, country after country until he controlled all non-neutral countries in Europe. In 1942 the United States and Great Britain forces were fighting in North Africa and Sicily poised for an attack on Italy. General Eisenhower was commanding the troops in North Africa and they were fighting the Africa Korps, a corps commanded by commander Marshal Erwin Rommel. April 1942, Operation ?Round? was adopted but the operation plans had been delayed because the armies were already participating in Operation ?Torch?. Operation ?Torch? was the invasion of North Africa. In December 1943 at the ?big three? conference in Tehran, May 1944 was set as the date of the European invasion. Before those plans were already being made by the COSSAC (Chief of Staff Supreme Allied Commander. COSSAC?s first plan for the invasion was know as Operation ?Overlord? which was an attack along the Normandy coast. Operation ?Overlord? was three divisions and two airborne brigades, followed by eleven more divisions to capture Europe. The capturing of a beachhead for troop landing was the single most important task of the operation. This task was required to have success of overcoming the strong German defenses. On most of the beachheads Hitler had set up the Atlantic Wall. The Atlantic Wall was reinforced with massive concrete boxes filled with machine guns. The beaches were also heavily covered with hedgehogs, Belgian gat, log ramps, and wooden posts. The beach that the allies were going to invade was under the command of German Field Marshall Erwin Rommel. The allies were also getting ready for their operation one of their first changes was to widen the invasion from three to five beaches to increase the number of land and airborne divisions to right. The next was to obtain command of the strategic air forces and use them to destroy the Germans ability to move their troops. The bombing was known as the Transportation Plan. The Transportation Plan was carried out by more than 11,00 fighters and bombers which dropped 195,000 tons of bombs. The bombs were dropped on railroad networks, German airfields, radar centers, military bases, and artillery batteries to make the way for the allied troops. The selection site of the invasion was very critical but it was the allies? biggest advantage because it made the German forces has to guess on where they would invade first. Factors that helped pick which site they would choose were the weather and the tides were the biggest factors. June 6, 1944 the allied forces had reached the channel known as the ?Piccadilly Circus?. From there, ten channels were being marked and mine-swept by the 225 American, British, and Canadian minesweepers, Both of the two channels leading up to the five beaches. When the allied forces were moving forward the German defenses couldn?t see the allied forces because they had destroyed many radar stations. The allied forces also dropped metallic ribbons in the air that made German radar signals bounce around. Just after 0100 the first air borne and glider troops landed in Normandy. Only eighteen American Pathfinders landed where they were supposed. But most of the pathfinders did manage to set up their Eureka sets, ADF radios, and other beacons to help guide the paratroopers. This was necessary because it was going to be the biggest drop ever of paratroopers almost 20,400 allied paratroopers were dropped. When the paratroopers landed this did manage to capture the most critical of their tasks. Which included bridges across the rivers to cut off German support. Just before the sunrise the beaches of Utah, Omaha, Gold, and Juno, and Sword became a nightmare for German defenders. The air and naval pre invasion had opened fire. Shell after shell was fired from battleships, cruisers, and destroyers. At H-hour the first troops of the US 4TH Division came ashore at Utah beach. Just about 15 minutes after H-hour more bulldozer tanks were landed and combat engineers came ashore as well. Mostly all of the troops were in the wrong place. But all in all, the landing was a success. The first problem was that the currents had lead ships aside to the wrong sectors but this wasn?t bad because the Germans less heavily defended it. Once everything has landed at Utah beach all three exits leading to the beach were secure. Utah was open and operating and the allied forces began to push inland. Omaha beach was by far the most bloodiest beach in the entire invasion. One reason is because the bombing on the beach was too short and too late. Another reason is the weak Ost battalion troops had been replaced by battle-seasoned troops of the 352nd battalion. Another problem was the Germans using the machine guns in the pillboxes were highly accurate and they were killing and wounding hundreds of allied troops. The Germans began running out of ammo and they were being attacked at all directions and slowly surrendered. The Omaha beach was saved a total of 2.500 died on D-Day, though 10,000 dead had been forecast. Most of the D-Day task that had been set mostly fell short but the allied forces managed to pull though and beat the German forces. The success of the allies on D-Day was attributed to the luck they had. The Germans never really had a plan of attack before June 6. Most people said that the success was attributed to the individuals they took matters in their own hands and made decisions. We will never forget the veterans the fought in World War II and they will always be remembered.

This is a paper I wrote from one of my high school classes. It's about drug testing in school and whether it should be permitted. I said that it shouldn't.Testing for drugs is something that the United States has been cracking down on since the mid 1980?s. Since all of this we have resorted to drug testing as a prime source to decrease the problem of drug use. When we first started drug testing in schools or anywhere else at the matter the drug use rate has gone up. This is because tests do not work and people would rather take the chance of getting caught to use illegal drugs. Drug testing in high schools should not be permitted because they are not fully accurate, they are ineffective, and they are way too costly for the government to afford. Drug testing is not fully accurate and it could lead to a lot or students getting in caught for something they did or didn?t do. ?Another potential problem is the results of drug testing are not necessarily reliable. Despite careful testing and analytical procedures, false negative and false positive results are possible? (Drug Testing in 3). Some students can get off from getting caught by flushing their system with large amounts of water and diuretics (Drug Testing in 3). All of these show why drug testing is not accurate because the subject can avoid testing positive and the tests can show up whichever way. ?Most testing is done through a urinalysis, in which a person?s urine is examined in a laboratory for the presence of drugs. That system does not always indicate whether a person is a drug user? (Drug Testing 3). In conclusion drug testing is not accurate because the tests are reliable, the subject can wash their system out, and the urinal system is not always truthful. Testing students is not effective there are studies out there that have tested one school and when the results come in the percentages of drug use are just the same as a school that did not test. Drug testing in schools has shown no sign of slowing down the students drug use (Winter A1). Testing does not change a students mind about drug use if they want to continue using drugs they will do as they please. ?Regardless of the schools? motivations, it is clear that drug testing raises a number of complex issues? (Drug Testing 1). Drug testing is a good idea but it is too much for schools to handle. The students will not be as comfortable with the faculty members because they know they are using illegal drugs. The drug testing programs that schools would have would not be as effective as the military or the workplace has (Congress 1). So all this would just be a waste of everyone?s time because it would not be useful. All in all drug testing is not effective because the percentages do not change on schools that do test, it would make to many issues with the faculty members and students, and it would not work 100 percent because they would not have the best drug testing program. Drug testing throughout Michigan and high schools across the country would cost way too much. ?School should not implement a drug testing program until they?re proven to work,? he added. ?They?re too expensive. It?s like having experimental surgery that?s never been shown to work? (Winter A1). There are other ways to approach the drug use problem with out invading a student?s privacy and using a lot of money. The school can put on skits or plays that teach the students about drug use and what it could lead to. ?Many prevention programs in school dryly talk about consequences of drug use, use scare tactics such as mock alcohol related fatality skits, or show samples of drugs that only peak students? interest in ?learning more? about them? (Study Shows NP). In conclusion drug testing is just too expensive schools need to find another way to lower the drug use in the school if it is out of hand. ?If students are attending school on Monday mornings ?hungover? from marijuana use it should be evident from their physical appearance or demeanour? (Drug Testing In 2). This all proves why drug testing is too expensive and that there are different approaches to lower the drug use rate in schools across the country. Drug testing throughout Michigan and the country would cost too much, it?s ineffective and it is never truly accurate. Testing students is not worth all the hassle and the stress that would be brought on by it. In recent polls they have showed that drug testing has no sign of slowing down drug use.

Thats dumb no one could even play that because it's so small....And why would they come out with a gameboy after they came out with the DS which is like a gameboy but way better...I just don't get it they will be wasting money not gaining because no one will buy it. The only hands that could fit into is a 5 year old or younger and their parents probably don't let them play video games. So I think it's stupid that they would come out with that after they came out with the DS that sold well and is a good handheld system.

I'llbe getting and xbox 360 right when it comes out.....As for the PS3 I'm not sure if I play it and I like it i'd think about it...But xbox is way better in the gaming department because they stepped the level up for gaming consoles so they wont come out with the peice of junk that no on wants to play. I don't get how people are already calling it junk when they haven't even played it or experienced the xbox live play on it as well. So I know I will be getting this as soon as possible.

PingGolferS59 replied to Megaman's topic in Computer Gaming
Hello,I think the hardrive is removable and it will costs an extra 100 bucks for it if you want your xbox 360 to come with one so the total would then be 400$ man thats a lot of money on a system...and the design isnt ugly I think it looks very awesome and better than the xbox The designers for it stepped up for this one and they did a good job I think. -
Midnight Club 3: Dub Edition Didnt live up to the hype
PingGolferS59 replied to universal's topic in Computer Gaming
Hello,I like it. I agree that it isn't as good as need for speed underground 2, but it's still a good game. I like all the cars in it how you can get the classic cars with the new cars and then the S.U.V's. I wish need for speed underground 2 would have had some american muscle brought into the game it would have made it more interesting. All in all I think it is worth renting I dont know about buying but some people may like the game and want to buy it. This is something you have to explore for yourself. -
Halo 2 New multiplayer maps now available
PingGolferS59 replied to Iron Eagle's topic in Computer Gaming
Yea the new maps are sweet I like them a lot I think some of the levels are better than ones in the game. But for those people who do not have xbox live they can get the levels later on. Microsoft/Bungie are releasing a game sorta not really a game but a disc that has the levels on them that only xbox livers can get right now. They are releasing it in June. June will be a great month for xbox with the release of this and Grand Theft Auto San Andreas. -
Driver 3 sucks big time I have never really like the driver games I think they are grand theft auto wanna be's. And in the first one ever you would get pulled over for going like 5 over thats so stupid. and the gameplay and graphics in the game arent really that good. So driver needs to stop coming out because not very many bought it compared to other games becuase its not fun....

This is a paper I did on the rescuers down under for my sociology class and why disney is really not good for kids if you watch the movies carefullyThe Rescuers: Down Under Disney is one of the most popular movie production companies in the world. They mostly make little kid movies but they do make movies that age in the early teens. Disney is so popular it is hard to find one kid that has not ever seen a Disney movie in their life. When parents let their kids watch a movie they really don?t think about the message that is being sent to the kids, they just think that it?s a cartoon how bad could it be. With Disney being so popular they play a big role in the development with kids these days. When children are little their minds are like a sponge so it isn?t very bright to show them anything bad. Now once I think about it most of the Disney movies that I have seen have had something in it that kids shouldn?t know about. So one movie that I wanted to analyze was The Rescuers Down Under. Rescuers down under starts out with the main character named Cody. Cody is an adventurous boy who likes to do the right thing. There is an eagle that is trapped and he wants to go save the eagle. He ends up saving the eagle. The eagles name is Faloo and she gives Cody a feather for saving her. He eventually runs into a poacher who wants to catch the Faloo to receive money. When Cody is leaving the poacher (McLeach) sees the feather the bird gave him. McLeach already killed the father now he wants Faloo. Cody will not tell where she is so the poacher kidnaps him. When Cody is kidnapped McLeach tortures him so he will speak where she is. These two mice are called to save Cody because they are detectives and their names are Bianca and Bernard. McLeach throws knives at the boy to scare him and make him tell but Cody doesn?t break. McLeach eventually finds out where the eagle is. So when McLeach captures the eagle he wants to kill Cody by feeding him to the alligators so it looks like an accident. When Cody is hanging over the water Bernard and Bianca save Faloo and Cody. The poacher and his salamander get pushed into the alligator invested water. Eventually Cody and Faloo are saved and that is the end of the movie. There are some bad things in this movie that kids should not be seeing or hearing. First it shows kidnapping which no kid needs to be introduced to this at this young of an age. McLeach also tortures Cody by throwing knives at him to make him speak up. Then when McLeach gets what he wants he tries killing the boy. This is a cartoon movie there doesn?t need to be any killing in a rated G movie. Jonah who is the salamander always does stupid stuff and he gets yelled at but when he gets yelled at by McLeach he swears and no kid needs to hear any of this because then they will remember it and say it and that could lead to bad things. Disney made this movie to attract little kids, which it did because when I was little I loved this movie but I really didn?t know all of this stuff. There is gun use in this movie and other weapons. All the behavior that McLeach does is not appropriate for kids and never will be.In comparison to the United States it is kind of the same. We have kidnappings and we do use guns to kill things and a lot of people swear in the U.S. This movie and a lot of other Disney movies are agents of socialization. When children watch these movies they pick up on them just like they do with things in everyday life. Sometimes the influence may not be good at all. After analyzing The Rescuers Down Under I realize this really isn?t a good movie for little kids to watch but parents show them to kids because they think Disney movies are good for children. Some of these movies are educational but some aren?t. Some are educational in a good way and some are in a bad way.
