How to Reduce Spams Let us help fight spams.
lesmizzie replied to iGuest's topic in Websites and Web Designing
Those are some great guidelines. Darn it, I did not know that if I unsubscribed that they would sell my e-mail address to other companies! That really stinks. I hate spam just like I hate junk postal mail. I wish it were illegal (or is it illegal?? I hope it is). Thanks for the great tips! -
Yeah, that is a concern. I have an ipod and I bought this leather case that protects it (although I should have bought it earlier since now it has cosmetic scratches on the back!). The reason why I bought the ipod is because it has so much storage and it's compatible with my computer (it's hard to find mp3 players that work on macs).

Stop Spam Harvesters add a Honey Pot to your site
lesmizzie replied to NilsC's topic in Websites and Web Designing
To those confused, I think this is what the system does: There are programs that go to random websites and pick out email addresses. The honeybot code apparently gets the address of the company that is trying to snag email addresses in order to spam unsuspecting people. The honeybot reports these addresses in order to stop the companies from doing this. I hate spam. I get at least twenty spam messages every few hours, and it is very annoying and it slows down production. I think that this is an ingenious way to fight spam! -
I know I am going to sound really stupid, but when there are two monitors, can you do different things on each monitor or do the monitors mirror each other? My guess would be that you would have two monitors so that you can use one for a different function that the other, but I have never heard of someone using more than one monitor on a computer. Can someone please explain? Thanks! Sorry for my ignorance!

This actually happened to my dad the other day- his computer went into the "safe mode" and then died all together. He took some memory from an old dead computer and installed it in his computer, and his computer started up again and worked even faster. Perhaps you do not have enough memory on your computer and need an upgrade. That is why my dad's freaked out and shut down until it was fed more memory. I hope this helps.

I personally hate Internet Explorer because, in my opinion, it has many problems. I think there are too many bugs in the program. Also, whenever I use it on the other computer (it's not on my personal computer), it also closes on me and I have to start everything all over again. It might just be me, though.

Firefox Wants To Shut Itself Down Randomly
lesmizzie replied to miCRoSCoPiC^eaRthLinG's topic in Software
That has actually happened to me a couple of times, which is annoying. It says something like "Safari has unexpectedly quit." Safari doesn't do that. I noticed it occurs more frequently when I use the PC, though. On the Mac it hardly ever does this. It may be a glitch in the program or maybe the computer just gets tired of keeping it open. -
I love Firefox because of its general layout and user friendliness. I think the worst browser I have seen is the one that AOL users must use... it is very annoying and in my opinion hard to deal with. It also does not allow you to go to the sites of their competitors. I also like Safari (the Apple browser) because it is very fast and also has a nice, user-friendly layout. When a website won't work on Firefox, I use Safari!!!

Video Editing Software Is there one that will edit frames
lesmizzie replied to jackpinerepublic's topic in Software
I believe that you can actually do this in iMovie. It's a program that Apple offers, and it is actually a very good program to use to edit movies that you make. I know that a lot of professionals use it when they enter film festivals and contests. Maybe you should try it. -
Did you end up using that program? I would like to be able to edit PDF files but I don't want to download a program unless I know it will work, because sometimes those free programs are hard to deal with and hard to remove from your computer. Does anyone use this program? I would like to see a review if anyone has actually used it.

You should probably restart the program and try it again. The program was probably overwhelmed by the mass amount of fonts that you downloaded. Can you tell me what GIMP is? Is it a font downloading program or something like that? Sorry, I've never heard of it before!

I am not quite sure what you mean, but I will try to answer your question to the best of my ability. If you make a word document and insert a photo or drawing into the document, you can then go to "save as" and convert it to a PDF file (at least this is how I do it on my Mac). I am not quite sure if you want just the photo as a PDF, but that does not make much sense and I will assume that is not the case. If a photo is saved in a PDF file, it is part of the PDF file and you do not need to save another copy of the photo on the server. Does anyone else have suggestions to help him/her?

I hope that nanotechnology will help us instead of hurt us. For instance, maybe if they put nano cameras into the bloodstream or any other places in the body, maybe cancer can be detected at an earlier time. Problems of the body would be more easily found, such as tumors to the liver and other such organs that you cannot see from the outside. I think that nanotechnology is fascinating. I hope that it helps the medical field and is used more in the future.

You can check Apple's website, but I believe the iPod minis (which are coloured) are around $200. If you are talking about the iPod Photo (with the picture in the back), then those are around $300+. I have a 40GB iPod that I bought with my Christmas job money, but it's white. Are you talking about the covers to put on the iPods? Those range from $20-$30 or more, depending on the company that you are dealing with. I hope this helped.

I am sorry, but I do not really understand what this post is about. What is "ripping" a DVD? Do you mean copying it to your computer or something like that? That seems like it would take up a lot of memory. Can you explain this a little more?
