My overclock... Prolink GeForce 2ti 64 - 250/400 @ 275/470 Sapphire x800GTO 256 - don't remember stock @ 590/1300 Intel Celeron D330 2660(133x20) + Asus p5p800 @ 3800 AMD 64 3200+ 2000 Venice + GB(nf 430+6100+int video) @ 2660

My case is always open and Fan is powered off. Cooler is Zalman 9700Pro and CPU is Amd 64 3200+@2660 Venice. Mostly I use pc for internet and office work, so it doesn't heat a lot. But when i had system with Prescott CPu, it was terrible. Temperature flew upp to 60-65 degreese and noise was terrible(stock cooler).

As for me, if i have to buy PC, i would do it with C2D 4500 + p35 or Amd 4200-4400 + g690. Anyway +2Gn Ram. :oBut IMHO Core is better for gaming.

I bought few weeks ago Acer 4920G(Core 2 Duo T5450 / 1.66 GHz - Centrino Duo - RAM 2 GB - HDD 160 GB - DVD?RW (?R DL) / DVD-RAM - Mobility Radeon X2400, WLAN : 802.11a/b/g - Vista Home Premium - 14.1" 1280 x 800). But it doesn't have bluetooth. It is rather fast in games and just for work. Price is 1000-1300$(i've got it for 800$).

Who knows when it will appear in sale?

As for me, i don't try linux. it not forme. But i have 3 OS on my HD: 2 XP - 1 main and second is reserve; Vista - for experiments and some games.

As for me, i use Light Alloy for video, Except for DVD. Open Offis used some time, but it worked slower, than MS Off 2003.
