  1. No, the date just tells you by when you must pay the invoice. Since you've already paid (Status: Paid), there is nothing to think about.
  2. BuffaloHELP answered your question, but here's a more detailed explanation. There are several options for buying a domain. You can buy a domain along with a hosting account. When starting an order, you will be asked whether you want to register a new domain, transfer an old one to Xisto (you won't be needing this), use a domain registered somewhere else or use a subdomain. If you choose the first option, a new domain will be registered and linked to your account automatically. If you decide to use a previously registered domain, it will again be linked with your account automatically, but you will have to change its nameservers to NS.COMPUTINGHOST.COM and NS2.COMPUTINGHOST.COM at your registrar. Finally, if you decide to use a subdomain, you will have to park the domain you want to use, while also changing the nameservers as mention above. All things considered, the easiest way would be to accumulate enough money for both a hosting account and a domain, and then order both simultaneously through Xisto - Support.
  3. Astahost has only those "restrictions" that you would encounter when using a paid hosting plan, because Xisto is based on (Xisto - Web Hosting's) paid hosting plans Therefore, the mail() function is available for use.
  4. I would just like to add why it is necessary to use text-align: center. If you tried creating a layout with that line of CSS code, everything would look fine in Opera and Firefox, which is how it should work. However, in IE, it would not. That's why you have to add text-align: center, which, oddly enough, helps. Why oddly enough? Well, the name says it all - text-align, not div-align. After all, it's Microsoft we are talking about and their lack of respect for WWW standards.

I was talking about the new Credits System, but I misunderstood your question - I was saying that Xisto will continue providing hosting services based on myCENTs indefinitely, but the same doesn't go for the old Credits System. I am not sure for how long it will operate, but you safest bet would be to transfer.

Domain as in https://www.1and1.com/website-builder, i.e. a top-level domain name (com, net, org etc.), so you won't be able to use Google Mail's service if you use a subdomain. But don't worry - the "offer" isn't limited. It is how things will work from now on, so you can take your time accumulating myCENTs.
  7. You can't build a web site through cPanel - it is used to manage your domains, subdomains, databases and, most important of all, your files (through the File Manager). You need to build the web site on your own computer by creating HTML files (I am guessing that you don't know PHP) which you will then upload to your hosting account, into the folder public_html, the folder people see when they type in your site's URL.
  8. I don't think it counts as a database your account uses, because it is something concerning MySQL itself.
  9. Try installing newer driver versions - my Windows regularly restarts due to bad graphics card driver. Well, not really bad, they just seem to work in an odd way on my configuration...
  10. It does take some time for your myCENTs to increment, though it is still unclear how often this happens.
  11. As I said, you need another colour, orange + gray is too strong. The corners also seem to me a bit strong, if that's even a good way to describe it. If you can achieve just by clicking some buttons in Dreamweaver, it's not good enough To tell you the truth, I would consider paying you to create me a web site if I had seen your previous work (which you will, of course, display). But bare this in mind - I might know that coding has nothing to do with design, but "simple" people have it connected in their heads :PAnother thing - do you really need the sidebar? Since it is a personal web site, I don't see what could be put there. Maybe that's a habit, for a web site to have a sidebar But in this case, I think you would just spend time thinking how you could use it. If you alreadt have a clear idea in your head, then I'm sorry
  12. As you said it yourself, it is hard for a coder to create a good piece of web design. Being a web developer myself, I have always tried to refuse offers that would require me to employ my designing skills, as they are practically non-existent. There were times when this could not be avoided, but that's not the topic here... First of all, I don't think this design would be representative for a web developer. While design itself is not your area of expertise, web is, so your site shouldn't be far from those of web designers when it comes to its "looks". The thing I like the most about your design is the curve next to the letter "S" - I think it could be turned into a proper logo. On the other hand, the font used for "Shadowx coding" simply doesn't satisfy me, it's somewhat unprofessional. The same goes for the font used in the menu ("Impact", perhaps?). Furthermore, if you are to use these fonts for text (i.e. not as a part of an image), you will have problems with people who don't have them installed. For example, I am using Linux, and therefore do not have most of the standard Windows fonts. I wouldn't even have Arial/Verdana/Tahoma if I hadn't installed them Also, it's not a good idea to use many different fonts - three as a maximum, and that should be if they are similar. If you haven't already dealt with the issue of typography, you will be surprised to find out how much effort people put into choosing the right combination of fonts The colours are good, but you might want to add another colour that would complement orange. This was the web site is monotonous. Now that I'm on that topic, I prefer the gradient used in the second file. I like the rollover box from a coder's point of view, but it definitely need to be designed differently. Also, the solution for the bottom part of the web site is too simple. True, it might be difficult to say when there is no content, but it resembles a site created with a WYSIWYG tool too closely. Of course, I am not saying I could do any better - this would probably be the best I've got But that's why I'll leave the design of my portfolio (yet to come) to a (semi-)professional in the field. Maybe the one you are working with? It's just that I went through a lot of well-designed (and "ill-designed") web sites so I have learnt not to appreciate my own web design skill. I'll just stick to what I'm good at If you really have no other option, try using a web site you like as a basis, and then changing its parts to suit your needs. Some might call it theft, but if you change it enough, and perhaps contact the original author too see if it's fine to use it in that way, I think there should be no problem. I'll end this post with a link to a designer's web site that I regularly go back to, just to admire the simple yet beautiful design http://www.adrianpelletier.com/
  13. It will not be converted right away, just like it takes some time to get myCENTs after posting. But when the process does occur, your myCENTs will be deducted (-100) and you will get $1. I think it is also forum-specific, but you will be able to find out as soon as you earn something at Xisto
  14. myCENTs is kind of what you have in the wallet at the moment, and myEarning is your bank account You get myCENTs when posting, which gets turned into myEarnings after you reach 100 cents (you get $1.00 for that). The new "points", myCENTs, are a replacement for credits, so the latter is of no importance whatsoever anymore. Feel free to ignore what is written on the front page - though I think credits still matter if you haven't switched to a Xisto - Support hosting plan. Xisto and Xisto are, as you know, two different forums, and as such they have separate myCENTs systems. If you post here only myCENTs at Xisto will increase - the same goes for Xisto. However, if everything was registered with the same e-mail address, those cents will (when converted to dollars) will all go into you Xisto - Support account. So, if you acquire 200 myCENTS here and 100 at Xisto, you will end up with $3 on your account.
  15. It's just a rank that indicates how many posts you have on the forum. Obviously, with more than 50 posts you become "Member [Level 1]". But don't worry, your rank doesn't actually affect anything, it could easily be non-existent.
  16. I think you need to post at least five posts for the myCENTs thing to kick in - I got mine displayed only after doing so.
  17. I think I remember someone mentioning that the Credits System gives more point to new members, in order for them to quickly accumulate the necessary amount of credits, but don't take my word for it.
  18. I stopped using Xisto's hosting services (which is the same package Xisto offers) some time ago, but I think you can park more than one domain. Parked domains are used when you want a domain to do the same thing as your main domain - point to public_html. If you, however, want a domain to point to a subdirectory of public_html (e.g. because of a completely different web site), that would be an add-on domain, which is also available. So yes, it is possible. As far as I know, all Xisto users have the same IP address, which is the address of their server (GAMMA, isn't it?). It wasn't possible to have a dedicated address before, but with the new Credit System a dedicated IP address is one of the things you can buy
  19. So, you're here for the same reasons I started posting at Xisto two days ago Welcome
  20. It's all being done automatically, you just have to wait. If you myCENT earnings are over 100, but don't get transfered in 24h, there is probably a problem - just so you know.
  21. I just got this mail from the Credits System at Xisto: That would make it 24 hours max, so you probably have some other problem. I saw your post in the "E-mail change" topic, so I take it you didn't change anything manually?
  22. Not only meaningless - impossible. If you want the page to be displayed properly, all the information (e.g. HTML/CSS, images) must be sent to the visitor's browser, and therefore the visitor's computer. You can try any script to prevent "theft" but it always comes to the fact that everything is given to the user the moment he opens a page of your web site.
  23. Isn't that how every programmer starts? Sure, there is a small number of people who think to themselves "Programming is well-payed, I think I'll do it for a living", but programmers are usually the ones who found it fun at the begining - and still do I started programming at an age of 14, not because I was made to do so, but because it was interesting. The code was ugly, the programs were practically useless, but it suited me.Now everything has reached a completely different level. I still do programming for a hobby, but besides that I also work on paid projects, and I also plan on studying computer science. I fell sorry for those who do what they don't actually enjoy, and I sincerely hope I won't be one of them ten years from now. I'm enjoying programming and don't consider myself odd - why would you do?
  24. What does the line 81 in that file contain?
  25. Credits are going away and not coming back, but myCENTs and a system that is essentially connected to Xisto - Web Hosting gives you even more options than the current one. You are not limited by what Xisto offers - instead, you can use the money you earn by hosting to by services offered at Xisto - Web Hosting. And, fortunately, one of them is a domain name ~edit~ Ah, beaten to it...
