1. I have not defined an exact way to give the percentage...

Depends on:

1. The number of posts you make

2. no of posts/topics you read

3. No of profiles you go through :P

4. Total hours you are in Xisto -- Very important

5. The help you do to other members

6. no of shouts

and may be lots of other things also...

2. @zamaliphe

yours is a good story. But a small suggestion from me...

after 2 years latter i now know what Linux is
and when ever windows fills Linux wins

even in removing windows virus

even in formating hard drives

even when you need free tools you cant find in windows

Linux wins

but the main Linux problems is

computer games

Do take care of your formatting when you post.

will i was verge femaler with the dosso i know what the command line is
but as you can emagin i trayed every command i know

dir cd etc...
afew commands only work

Also its very important to give some care to the spellings. Otherwise yours is a good post.
This will help others in many ways... be it when they search or when they read or to suggest yours to others.

3. I thought i should add some more details on this. This would change our lives so much...

WiTricity, a portmanteau for wireless electricity, is a term coined initially by Dave Gerding in 2005 and used by a MIT research team led by prof. Marin Soljačić in 2007,[1][2] to describe the ability to provide electrical energy to remote objects without wires. WiTricity is based on strong coupling between electromagnetic resonant objects to transfer energy wirelessly between them. The system consists of WiTricity transmitters and receivers that contain magnetic loop antennas critically tuned to the same frequency. As WiTricity operates in the electromagnetic near-field, the receiving devices must be no more than about a quarter wavelength from the transmitter, that is a few meters at the frequency of a few MHz used by the system. In their first paper, the group also simulated GHz dielectric resonators.

More about this in the below wikipedia link.

4. Google users in the San Francisco Bay Area will notice today that we "turned the lights out" on the Google.com homepage as a gesture to raise awareness of a citywide energy conservation event called Lights Out San Francisco.
On Saturday, October 20, 2007, Lights Out San Francisco invites the entire city of San Francisco to install one compact fluorescent light bulb (CFL) and turn off all lights for one hour, from 8:00 pm to 9:00 pm PDT. According to estimates, turning the lights out in San Francisco for even one hour could save as much as 15 percent of the energy consumed on an average Saturday night.

Given our company's commitment to environmental awareness and energy efficiency, we strongly support the Lights Out campaign, and have darkened our homepage today to help spread awareness of what we hope will be a highly successful citywide event.

6. Answer to question 1

1. keep 2 pointers

2. Initially first one points to first element and second one points to the next

3. Calculate the total.

4. If this total < required total, move the second pointer alone to the next one and continue

else if this total> required total, move the first pointer alone to the next one and continue

5. Continue this process until the total equals required total.

Note:

* This can be used in a similar way to find the first 2 elements that differs by a given number

* It works for set with negative numbers also

Please come up with any case that could fail.

PS: Solution suggested by one of my friends.

7. How many of you people are addicted to Xisto and its forums??

Its only been few days i have joined... but i am already addicted enough to Xisto and its forum. Spending hours together in the site. Are you addicted... if your addicted whats the percentage??

My addiction percentage is -- 78%

8. Do not listen to anyone for using the forums... That will restrict your imagination...Go ahead and experiment everything.... If you do mistakes Admins/Moderators will let you know... you can correct.Else you are doing the right thing.... No harm in experimenting. That is what iam doing all the days from my joining date...I would also like to mention the support given by the people here... 9. Question 1

Reply the solutions if you have any so that we can discuss...

Given an array of n elements (containing only positive numbers) and sum, X. Find the first two elements in the array that sum upto X

eg: Array of elements - {2, 3,1000, 200, 51, 88, 29, 49, 65, 40, 98, 12, 3}

Sum - 100.

The answer for the above sample is 51, 49.

There are other possiblities also, but the first two numbers summing upto the given sum, 100 should be taken.

How will you do this with minimal space and time complexities?

Question 2

Given two nodes of a binary tree (implemented in a linked list without a parent pointer) and a head pointer, find out the common ancestor of the two nodes with minimal space and time complexities...

Not necessary for an perfect answer...any answer will be appreciated...

Many posts will refine the solution more. Thanks.

Question 3

Given two nodes of a Binary Search Tree (implemented using linked list without a parent pointer) and the head pointer, find out the common ancestor of the two nodes with minimal space and time complexities...

All answers will be greatly appreciated...

Question 4

This was asked in an interview with GOOGLE.

Given an array (dont consider the data type of the element) of 2n elements with first n integer elements and next n character elements.

i1 i2 i3 ....in c1 c2 c3 ....cn

Write an in-place algorithm to rearrange these elements in the following order.

i1 c1 i2 c2 i3 c3....incn.

in-place algorithm means that the memory used in the algorithm other than the input array should not be dependent on the size of the input.... Also keep this in mind -- Time and space complexity.

10. Any of you guys facing this New Folder.exe virus ??

New Folder.exe Virus

It just creates an empty exe files (looks like a folder with the name of the parent folder)... it just spreads itself with all the thumbdrives and other shared memory. Will occupy your harddisks space so much...

remedies welcome...

SSVICHOST.EXE

This is another virus that disables cmd prompt, task manager, regedit, msconfig and other important system functionalities. It also slows the system drastically by running other applications in the background.

Help me please.... these two drives me mad....

Norton and Avg do not detect this virus. One solution works...like booting windows in safe mode and deleting all the viruses... but it comes again when some drive is inserted.

Help!! Help!!

11. Louis braille and Helen keller will be some of the few persons who will be happy with the advancement in technologies now.

"Artificial Cornea Saves Eyesight".

This is the news article i studied recently. Advancements like this make things better. So definitely there is hope for those having problems with eye sight. Though awareness with respect to "Eye Donation" is spreading, the ratio of donors to people who need them is in a mismatch.

post-50968-1193063073_thumb.jpg"Scientists have developed an artificial cornea. The first implants have already been tested in rabbits' eyes -- with promising results. If further tests are successful, the technology will be tried on humans in 2008. (Credit: Image courtesy of Fraunhofer-Gesellschaft) "

12. Have you been searching for some free and opensource tools....for your mac system.

I have found one recently.

http://opensourcemac.org/

All necessary tools from A-Z are available for download...

whats the catch? they are all free and open.

About the website

Open Source Mac is a simple list of the best free and open source software for Mac OS X. We aren't trying to be a comprehensive listing of every open-source mac app, instead we want to showcase the best, most important, and easiest to use. This page should be a handy reference and a useful tool for getting more people to start using free and open-source software. If you think we're missing any great apps, please let us know.

Also all softwares are categorized accordingly. I don think they have missed any category... if at all you see something missing do let us know.

Now started to add some of my own websites.

I have already read some article regarding showing your websites to googlebot.
This ones of yours is good. Thanks again.

Anyone have any idea how to prevent google from indexing your site??
Below is my extract from my blog -- this will help prevent google from indexing your site.

Have you ever wondered how google indexes all the pages of your website and how it is displayed...??
Its done with the help of googlebot.

Can I have something hidden from google?
Yes...you can very well do it.

Consider a page varalu.html. If I dont want this page to be indexed and reflected in any of the google results include the below line in red in the page inside the head tag.

15. Both good and bad.... Some may really do what they have to...But it may create some materialistic attitude towards getting a baby.Possibility of getting things done in a hurry for the want of prizes...Rather the government can give offers in other things for babies. that will reduce the burden on parents. What is this scheme is introduced in India and China??The world will drown, economy in these countries will go down and there will be no place to stand. We have to start civilization in the moon and look for mars for our next generation...

16. Can you explain more on this??I have more doubts on this.. like how is it possible...because when i requested for the hosting...i have it under a particular domain name... then how is it possible to host another service.Oh.. may be you can redirect in the domain Registrars cpanel??ya... you can put the files in the hosting service and set redirect instructions from the domain...Let me know... thanks.

17. Congrats on your success joer.i felt the same way when my invitation was approved. but a word of caution..still there is a long way to go. Its always they way you keep the forum clean and neat. I would say getting approved for free hosting is just the initial step...And also after hearing about t17, i had so many doubts.... FREE???NO ADS??but they are doing exactly that... and i am happy that i am one of them and also experiencing it....Cool idea and cool service... Xisto is one of the best hosting service....When compared to free...it is the best.

18. oh... the first mistake you did ... you shouldn't have posted this in this forum. If you want to do something go ahead and do it man.... Don think too much. Also do not worry to express what you feel... not an advice... suggestion.So...go ahead... and stop listening to what others feel and say...Do not miss the day... Because there is nothing you are going to lose...There is no harm in saying that you like someone...So.. i would recommend to go ahead.

19. Hey its just very hard to restrict myself with only 3 movies... ok... i will post what i have...

note: The order is not based on my liking... i like all of them so much.

Life is Beautifu
This movie i watched after some recommendation from my friends. After watching the movies i recommended to atleast 200-300 of my friends. This movie is more than awesome and just great... The characterization and expressions are more than very good...

The Godfather
This i think is one of the movies that i have crossed the threshold limit of 50(number of times i have watched...). i just cant believe make-up can change a person so much... The way Al Pacino looks in the first part and in the last part when he dies... wha... the make-up is worth some mention.. And this i like so much... Al Pacinos action when his daughter gets shot ..when he cries aloud.. he is the best.

Lord of the Rings
I have watched this movie atleast 60-70 times, but still not bored. worth 11 oscars...

Forest Gump
Tom Hanks is one of the best.

Terminal
the real situation when you think is un-bearable... But... no words man... awesome movie...

The pursuit of happyness

Gladiator
Russel Crowe is one of the best...

The Matrix
I still cant believe those brothers were able to get an idea like this... Awesome man awesome. They were the beginning for some of the great movies that followed.... What i like in Matrix?? concept, colors, dialogues, actions, reactions, accessories, costumes, guns, machines... of course the red women, Neo, trinity and the others.
Forgot to mention morpheus

Departed
nice Movie... I like the drop kick murphy album so much.... i am going to play that now... :P

ok...time to move... there are still more movies... that i like...

Notting hill (nice romance)...
Troy
Remember the Titanz
The prestige
The Patriot
Titanic
Ben Hur
Apocalypto
The Gods Must Be Crazy (all of them...)
