High School WoesWhat Was Your Worst Heartbreak [true] Story?It all started in my first year of high school. There was this one boy, Josh, who I went to primary school with but I was never in the same class. In high school I was in his homegroup and every single one of his classes. It was like fate. We spent a lot of time together in class and we just clicked. We were great friends for a long time, he was different from the other boys, unusual, and I understood him. I was different too and he understood me. I fell in love with him. A bit of a stretch to say it was love when I was so young but you can just tell when it's true. He used to walk me to my car at the end of every day, and we always walked to class together. He used to stare at me and out of the blue he would tell me I have beautiful eyes. Sometimes he would stroke my hair. Heaps of people mistook us for a couple which flattered me. I decided to do some detective work to see if he felt the same way as me, namely, I got a friend to ask if he would ever go out with me. I was all pumped and convinced I would have a boyfriend when I heard back from my friend next. While I was walking to my car she came back to me and sadly said."He thinks you're more like a younger sister"I stormed into the back seat of the car and put on my well practised, perfected, impenetrable "everything's ok" face. When asked how my day was I coolly replied "Uneventful." As soon as I got home I bawled my eyes out. After that our friendship died. He lost interest and gradually we stopped speaking. At the time I thought I must have freaked him out by liking him in that way. Two years later he moved away. I never truly stopped loving him. Very recently I was talking on the phone to one of my girlfriends (a long term friend of Josh) exchanging boy stories, and I told her this one. She was extremely sympathetic towards me and offered to text him to tell him how much he hurt me and I agreed. "Yeah." I thought. "He was a complete bastard how he lead me on then snobbed me off. I'll never see him again. Why not?" She proceeded with texting him. He seemed clueless, saying things like "I don't recall that..." "I never knew she liked me..."It turns out that my so called FRIEND never asked him. He NEVER KNEW. What's more, he actually DID like me but thought I didn't like him when I started acting awkward. We could have been great together, but now it will never happen, since we've grown so apart. I will never forgive that girl for lying to me, and to this day I miss Josh dearly. The lesson? GT i8000 : how do I stop auto dial-up to internet/emailSamsung OmniaI have discovered that my phone is using up credit at a steady drip when the phone is in standby and not being used. This appears to be due to the phone being registered as attempting to use the internet and being billed 6p every 2 hours. I am assuming this is some sort of 'scan for new mail via dial-up - is there a way of limiting access to either 'only on request' or 'only via wi-fi' to ensure I have some credit for when I do need to make a call. I don't know why it's considered illegal. Some of Apple's clauses will not hold up as it go against Consumer Rights which overrides it, however testing their limits is not recommended as it's possible something could not be your right to do.I've jailbroken my iPhone, because I did not want to be locked into a network I didn't want to be with. I don't play into monopoly.I also wanted to run free software and use my phone how I expect it to work, not how they force you to use it. This whole idea of trapping people is ridiculous and I really wish Consumers expressed their rights this way.Remember, after jailbreaking your iPhone/iPod you lose their support, warranty, etc. Fair enough I believe.Cheers,MC

What sort of internet connection does she have Eggie?If it's dial up, you create on your computer a dial in server but I doubt this is what she has.If it's DSL, then it's not a cheap alternative but not hard either. You have to ask your Telco to install dry copper pair lines (in which a lot of Telco's will refuse to do it and say it's unavailable because of the things you can do, like giving away free internet to others all sharing off the one connection). Also you both need to be with the same Telco as well. There's different lines to ask for, the cheapest I know of is one that they use for an alarm, even if you don't have an alarm, just try to get it.That's not the expensive part, the expensive part would be getting a modem that sends/receives the signal over the dry copper pair (similar to how ISPs work with your phone line). However this setup makes for excellent LAN games between the two computers as you should be able to theoretically get the maximum speed of your line without being limited by the Telco nor be charged for bandwidth as you're in complete control of the line. Though you do have a monthly fee with it.Those are the options you can take, however if she's using a lot of GBs, then it's probably better to go for a better plan.Cheers,MC

39 Megapixel Camera: Is It Worth Is?39 Megapixel Camera: Is It Worth Is?Allright, let me start by saying this question could be answered far more easily if you had any photographic knowledge. There are three types of cameras that use NEGATIVE imagine that each larger than the other 35mm, mid format, and large format. Difference being in the amount of detail its negative can capture due to it;s size and the size of recording dots (so to speak to make connection between digital and film). The 10 to now 24mpx standard is more than enough for prints up too 1m wide. But in general they are meant to be used as amateur and enthusiast art cameras, also professional sports photography, photo journalism (due to their resistance to everything and portable size) etc. Mid and large format cameras capture far more detail than 35mm film, therefor best used for landscapes, portraits, architecture etc. I have also seen a lot of street photographers using them. They are not meant to be portable or to make any sense to passers by nor to make you look good (as one of the replyers said he would be ashamed... For what ever the reason that might be). I could go on and on about the size and why does it matter, but to put it bluntly for portraits you will get a far shallower depth of field due to sensor/negative size, for landscapes at prints of 2 or 3m wide (most likely art gallery prints or wealthy and dedicated enthusiasts) you will be able to count leafs on a tree with a 10mpx just enough camera you would get satisfying amount of detail but also a lot would be lost. This is just a blunt answer and I'm not proud of it, but you're on the internet use google on next few things if you really are interested: Medium format camera, Large format camera, depth of field in photography, large format camera lenses (you will find just how much these cameras aren;t meant for moving without knowing exactly what and where do you want to shoot). Even tho I concentrated most of my answer based on Lformat, think of Hassel 39mpx med format camera as what its name says something in the middle. It will capture a far greater amount of detail than a regular slr, and is as portable as one even tho a bit bulkier. cheers -reply by Streetg
