Replying to iGuestReplying to iGuestSince this product is "free" from our ISP, I finally relented and decided to install it when the subscription ran out on the Trend Micro product I've been running for years. The PC runs OK, but the problems arise when I try to shut it down. I've done the normal shut down and walked away from the computer before going to bed at night. In the morning, it's still trying to shut down - it's done this numerous times. My only option is to power it off the old fashioned way - hold the power button. Once it's off, I power it back on - after POST, it takes 10-20 minutes to get to the logon screen. Between POST and logon screen, the screen is just black with no indication that anything is going on.I guess it's back to paying for Trend Micro.-reply by PaulKeywords: norton internet security reboot slowness

Hi Marked,Well, the code is basically everything in the source page. It's just XHTML, CSS and Javascript (jquery) combined with a few images for styling the dropdown and displaying in the preview. I didn't implement the form like submit for it but that's not hard at all.If there is a lot of interest in this, I may create something more flexible that should be able to fit most peoples needs as this was rather just a proof of concept to show it would be possible. Right now, I'm quite busy on other projects so if you do have problems, just leave a message and I'll try to help when I can.Things that would improve this is pre-loading images, liquid styling, degrading nicely when Javascript isn't available. Maybe can clean up the code even better so less elements are used, majority of the elements were just for styling so it'd look like a dropdown.Cheers,MC

Dell dvd-rw doesnDVD-Rom Doesn't Read DVDsMy Dell DVD-RW seems to only read certain dvd's. I burned a video to a blank dvd, put it in the drive and nothing happens. When I click the icon for the drive, the drive box comes up but there is no icon indicating the presence of the contents of the dvd. I'm not sure I explained this correctly, but that's basically it. 478 vs 775Intel Pentium 4 Socket 478 vs. 775nowadays y'all can get 478 motherboards with ddr2 and pcie, so fer a prescott chip it's just a matter of preference and longevity. Though 775 has quads now if yer buildin' a system from scratch. personally I'd choose 478 over 775 fer a prescott chip though, as the motherboard socket is heartier and less easily damaged. And as fer the 3.5ghz thing, I got a 3.4 478 prescott in one of these new biostar p4m900-m4 478 boards runnin at 3.73ghz right now on air coolin' with a nice scythe heatpipe cooler, and AS: 5. Idles 42c, 57c load. Runnin' 4 gigs of mushkin redline ddr2 800, and a radeon 4850. Not a value.Things are different with Kelvin scale. 0 is absolute value. There is no heat/electron movement/friction. I'm not sure if the heat is electron movement is linear to the "heat" increase, but I guess you could say that 400K is twice as 200K.

I get what every bodies saying... My code of conduct says nothing against the PDA. However, when one is relatively private AND it's after school... I still get called on it. After school my girlfriend gets picked up, so we wait out front for a while... Who's to say and why the hell do they need to say that it's totally wrong that I'm doing that? I understand in hallways, I understand in class, I understand in classrooms or bathrooms or anywhere else totally secluded may lead to bad things, so I understand the restriction there as well.. However in front of the school, after school hours, it doesn't disturb class, it doesn't affect the learning environment in any manner... It just saves us from having to walk off campus to get a quick couple of kisses in. They used the analogy "She's red and your blue, no purple... No PDA." I like challenging (and coming to a full understanding of) the rules, therefore I replied "So no holding hands?" I mean, a mother can kiss her son goodbye or hello, isn't that a Public Display of Affection, I understand it's platonic affection, still affection non-the-less. I also understand if one is getting handsy. Whereas hands are going PG+ places. But they show kissing (with tongue) in PG movies... And isn't (most) everyone in High school a teenager?
