  1. I think you guys go about business the wrong way, especially in how you think."I don't think that business will get you anywhere these days"... throw that out of your vocabulary. I didn't get where I am now because I felt I couldn't compete, that's the whole point of business is competing. I may have not been able to get them the best prices, but I made up for it with the best service, that was my strongest selling point. Just be positive about it, don't ever feel negative about it. Anything is possible, and it all starts with how you make it possible. You would have to refer to your local countries law on fair trading and consumer guarantee. You must abide by the fair trading and consumer guarantee. So that's the level of support you'll have to live up to. Faulty goods etc, would most likely be solved with a return to base/manufacture/supplier warranty. There's quite a lot involved. Since I feel you're only doing this as to make money under the table and not for a business, avoiding tax etc... Your support should be in terms of what your supplier offers as to which parts you used etc and how long they are covered for. You must abide by your warranty, or as M^E pointed out, you can strike up deals with other companies who can handle your support, you'll just be required to pay them a fee, etc.Software issues do not need to be solved by you, and can be referred onto the support of that software vendor unless however, the computer never worked in the first place with the software. As for hardware, they should return the machine to you, and you can either fix it yourself, or send the faulty parts back to the supplier/base/manufacturer for fixing, in which they can fix it or replace it with the same or equivalent. You can't however send the whole machine to them, unless you bought everything from them, so you will need to take part of the responsibility in fixing the machine yourself, at your own costs. Support is where a lot of money goes too and it's not a good thing for the company, so try to make sure you won't have to go down that line of giving support (impossible I know) but you're better off making sure everything is done to 120% or more when you've built those computers. It's a good thing that software is taken off your burden though, since just having that would get you tied down.Cheers,MC
  2. cyph3r Working in an internal network, the name Library is just that name of the machine. Every computer requires an IP address to be part of a network. Every computer also requires a name, I'm not sure if names can conflict on a computer either, so most likely they'd be different. If I called named my computer Master, I know I have many ways of being able to access it. If I'm on the computer Master and I have a webserver, I could use LOCALHOST/ (which is a name already set up to point to your loopback/your own computer) I could use http://forums.xisto.com/no_longer_exists/ (which is that loopback IP) I could use http://forums.xisto.com/no_longer_exists/ (the name I gave my computer) I could use it's network's IP (the IP assigned to my network card). On the internet, I could use it's external IP to access it (a static/dynamic IP I have on the web), or I could use it's domain name (which requires it to have a DNS entry which just points to it's external IP address). They have chosen to use the computer's name. This would only work in internal networks. They could have just given you it's IP and it'd work the same way but what's easier to remember? You just have to realise that http://forums.xisto.com/no_longer_exists/ is not an address on the web, but a name used internally. Cheers, MC
  3. Perfect Dark for Nintendo 64 was amazing for me too. I loved that weapon where you could shoot through the walls and see them through the walls. Cheap but very fun indeed XDI hope there are amazing guns like that again in this version of it. I hope I can get that awesome feeling as I play it for the first time as I had for the one on Nintendo 64. I was truly amazed on this game and Golden Eye 007 on how they were back them. I hope to kill as much people as I can on it
  4. Well, as soon as I get the new computer (or "revamped" computer) I can play this game, who has it, I think its a really awesome game, friggin beautiful.Oh and if you didnt know, you can get heaps of good mods for the game. They're at Massassi, really good mods, and if you still have the good old Dark Forces 2 (I know what you're thinking and its not like that), your in for a treat, they still have the DBZ: The Destruction is Real mod, ****ing awesome lol
  5. OK, I was very bored today, so I thought: Let's go to the city and buy 1 or 2 games for PSP/PS2...I actually only wanted to buy Fifa 2006 for PSP, but then I saw Budokai Tenkaichi! Well, I decided to buy it and it's much more fun than Budokai3!! The attacks aren't that good as in Budokai3 but the fact that you have TONS and I mean TONS of characters and stages makes the game much better lol. Every Char has a Favourite, Finisher and Super Finisher Attack! Like Goku has the Kaioken as his Favourite Attack, KameHameHa as his Finisher and the Spiritbomb as his Super Finisher Attack. There are also many versions of different chars, for example: So far I've unlocked 4 versions of Vegeta: Normal, Saiyan Saga, Super Saiyan and Super Vegeta!! Each o0f them has his own, individual attacks!! Just wanted to say that this game is definatly a good buy if your a beat em up or a dbz fan. It's of course not as good as Tekken or Soul Calibur but it's still a pretty cool game...
  6. I gotta go with Final Fantasy. I've been playing it since I was born XD I also think highly of Ultima Quest of the Avatar on Nintendo. That game I was raised on too. Man, I need to go buy that game again because I never beat it since I was too young to understand what to do. I should be able to beat it this time, and do all those virtues and stuff. Ownage.
  7. Neopets is one of the most creative and unique sites I have seen. With the introduction of Neoquest II, neopets is allowing players to better understand how a computer processes information. There is still a lot of casino type gaming on the site, though, which may or may not be healthy for children ~ or even adults ~ Keno, Poker, Slots, Etc. We don't really need to start children gambling so early * Update - Australia just passed a law related to this topic.* The skill games, the action/adventure - type games and similar activities are appropriate. Perhaps the neoschools will continue the computer lessons begun in Neoquest II? Many users would benefit from learning how to troubleshoot basic software problems. If you find yourself spending many hours a day on this site or any site, maybe you need to vary your activities. Like, do something besides sit at your computer!!! If you find yourself needing to gain millions of nps for expensive weapons, etc., and dominate and defeat opponent after opponent in the two player battledome, there is definitely room to find meaning in your life in other ways ~ A word to the wise. Also, many battledome items are way overpriced and are being downgraded rather often. Don't let yourself get caught up in a rat race to keep up with all the Joneses. There is no reason why a person should need to spend millions of neopoints in order to buy good battledome weapons.
  8. wow it looks very nice i writed my name Gamool and it is very cool thanks man for the link /legacy
  9. do you know how i can show the video of my webcam on my website so that people visiting my website can see the video. I want to be able to show constant video or just a picture that changes every time you refresh the page.
  10. i also agree with what you guys are saying but you have to admit if you had the option of seeing a movie for free, would you pick a movie with a leading actor who you liked or would you pick the movie of an unkown actor?
  11. Well the imfamous apple corporation has come out with the video iPod the past week and i was wondering if anyone has purchased it yet? 300$ is a lot of money and you wanna make sure its worth it. Personally i just bought a iPod mini and the battery broke the second day. But one thing i do like about apple is that they have great customer support. They are going to fix it for free and if not pssible they said they would refund my money. SO its just some thoughts to think about before you purchase the new iPod. Does anyone know of any new features of the video iPod that are not in previous generations? (besides the fact it can play videos DUHHH!!)
  12. Have you heard of neopets.com? It is a fun gaming site with all sorts of stuff to earn virtual money that isnt worth anything but gives you an idea of what its like to make money. so it you haven't checked it out then do so! hi my name is dumpster7 and i am here to answer any of your questions that deal with neopets. i have been playing neopets for 52 or 53 months now and i have accumulated over a milion np a day. My username on neopets is also dumpster7 so if you want to neomail me then please do so. i have a gelert, a eeyrie and a blumaroo but i use the lab ray so often that they usually change every month. So my website on Xisto is also about neopets but it is currently suspended untill i get enough credits. ill tell you right now that the easiest way to make neopoints is to invest in stocks that are priced at 15 np a share and then wait a month till the price goes to 40 and sell al your shares. i did it and i made exactly one million np. I even have the screenshot to prove it. One really good stock is bb . currently the priice is up so you shouldnt buy it. but just wait till it goes down to 15-20 and buy shares like crazy cause when the price goes up to 40 again you will double and maybe even triple your money. BUT BEWARE YOU SHOULD BE PATIENT AND WAIT TILL THE PRICE GOES DOWN DO NOT SELL UNTILL THE PRICE IS AT 38-40. believe it or not i am currently creating a podcast (FOR ALL OF YOU WITH AN iPOD) so that people can listen to my tips as well as hear recent news about neopets and learn more about recent additions to my website and new ways of making neopoints. If you have any questions then please neomail me my username is dumpster7 or send me a PM on Xisto. ok this is about the lost desert plot so if your interested then listen up! What you missed is this. We can now go in & read the scrolls. But you dont learn anything by doing that. Also, you can go talk to the foreman (who is level 2, 5,20) who is now a chef. Then go talk to the lady in the temple gift shop. Then go equip the bottle she gives you to your pet, take that pet to the battledome & fight the spirit. After fighting the spirit (win or lose) uneqip the bottle, and take it back to the temple gift shop. The lady will give you a tshirt. Take that to the chef. He gives you a useless crystal. I put mine in my box for safekeeping. We dont know if it will be like the sand, totally useless, or come in handy for something else later. Well, first off, we get to read the scrolls. Tho so far they dont do anything. 2nd. you can get a "useless crystal" by going to talk to the chef on the 2nd floor. 3rd. go to the temple gift shop & talk to that shopkeeper. She give you a bottle. 4th. go equip that bottle, fight the spirit in the battledome & get it filled w/ black smoke or whatever it is. 5th. go BACK to the temple shop. 6th. take the tshirt she then gives you back to the chef. he gives you the useless crystal. If you make a mistake you can erase the line using the .... ERASER .... (located just under the dotted star). It is quite simple and fun to to make your map, although it will take several hours to map all the Tomb. Soon as you enter the Tomb, make a note of the 5 doors/ corridors that you see (note their shape, colour and the hieroglpyh above the door). Next click on the arrows either side of the door and map all the doors you see in your first line. When you have completed the first line, enter into an empty corridor to the second line of doors and repeat the process. Note where the corridor leads to and try to find the correct corridor back to the line you just came from and then you can link them with a connecting line. Then try another corridor and gradually work your way deeper into the Tomb until your map is complete. If you enter into a library, you will find 4 scrolls to read, but this will lock you out the Tomb for 12 hours. 13. I should think you know a thing or two about security, ViriiGuy, if I was to judge by your name . And indeed, every browser has cons as sure as it has pros. The question always is whether the pros outweight the cons.It seems there is global consensus that Microsoft's I.E. is the worst thing that ever happened to humankind - arguably, other than Windows itself . No, I'm not an anti-Microsoft fanatic, even if I sometimes sound like one.And I agree that FireFox has many security risks as well. I suppose it's an undesirable, yet inevitable side-effect of being so readily extensible.I personally use Opera. It's a superbly powerful browser, integrating many features in a uniquely small package. Opera's Web community, similar to FireFox's, is a dynamic one, that allows quick feedback and promotes enhancement. I'm still testing Opera, though, and I think there's a thing or two I'm going to contact Opera's developers about. But all in all, I simply love it.FireFox is quite promising, too. I believe Mozilla has a good chance of making something really good with it, given a little time. It's a little heavier on system resources than Opera and IE, but I don't suppose it's detectable on modern computers.I'm not sure if we should make an elaborate discussion and comparison in here, but if others join in, then I'll be glad to talk it out.
  14. Hello, Stream, and welcome to Xisto. I hope you have a good time here. But please keep in mind that Xisto isn't using this forum as an advertisement farm and it doesn't really benefit much from our submissions... at least, not in a direct economical sense. So you really don't have to simply make new posts just to increase your hosting points. I'm not saying you are, but if someone takes a look at this post, and considers the facts that FireFox has been around for a while and people know about it and have been discussing it habitually, and that this is only your 4th post, that's the impression they'll probably get.I know I haven't been a member here for too long myself, but I feel like I have only made meaningful posts. Again, I'm not saying yours isn't. . Anyway, here's a friendly reminder: In the future, make a quick search about the subject you intend to talk about. If you see another thread that talks about it, then you can join in, you don't have to make a new thread. And if not, hey, go ahead and let us all discuss it.I apologize if I sounded too rude or harsh. It's just that I've seen too many immature threads being thrown in here simply to increase the hosting points, that I'm afraid I became hypersensitive to decent posts as well. Have fun, and thanks for your contribution!
  15. I suppose I can understand where you guys are coming from. As someone who doesn't like those abbreviated terms much, I share some of your sentiments. But if I don't like something, does that mean it's a bad thing? Is everyone using these acronyms an imbecile? Does my employinga form of speach agreed upon as the mainstream qualify me for condemning other forms made for convenience, effeciency in certain circumstances, or whatever?Well, I suppose these could be viewed as somewhat philosophical concepts, so there's no real need to go into an exhausting discussion about them, since this sure will sidetrack the thread. I just thought they were worth the brief mention. I personally don't have a big problem with acronyms. I don't frequently use them, since my writing style doesn't normally require them. But if I'm talking to a friend, in a chat room, or to a person who's comfortable with them, then I would certainly use them, although perhaps sporadically.Andway, maybe we can something out of this thread other than simply expressing our opinions, which is certainly a decent goal in itself . How about those of us who use acronyms tell us why they do, and those who don't the same. Yes, I know that's what we've been doing. The new thing is, since I'm sure there would fanatics on either camp, why don't we discuss ways which we think might help either spread or eliminate the use of acronyms (depending on your stand)? It might be interesting, might it not?
  16. Here are my results: good software man. Here is a full guide, many might find it usefull. http://forums.xisto.com/no_longer_exists/ Thanks for sharing.
  17. Wow I haven't played Grand Theft Auto 2 in ages ! Those were amazing days playing that game from the top view with a tank and stuff. Oh man, downloading now. I wished these games would be ported over to consoles, even remade to the 3rd persion view now of possible. It would be amazing. Also, I love that one song that goes like 'It doesn't matter, when you get there, the funs just started on the side of the road.' Anyone know the name of that song? <3
  18. I can certainly understand how GoogleWhacking gets addictive. The search for "THE ONE," as Gorman calls it, is so freakishly hard, but I trust it's worth it when you see that one single result! I'm currently downloading the videos you guys mentioned; the Jay Leno interview, the Gorman tour, and the comedy piece. I'm using Shareaza, a P2P FileSharing program, but there seems to be a very few sources for these files, so it might take a day or two before I get them all. Expect another post when I see them.
  19. Try this man / It is an old site, but worth viewing again.Havnt heard about spywares on this one.
  20. Simply put, DVD-R, DVD+R, and the like are different DVD formats. Think of it as the PAL, Secam, and NTSC of DVDs . If that doesn't ring any bells, either, then never mind. It's no big deal anyway. As to your problem, unfortunately I don't think I can be of much help, since I still don't have enough information. So my best advice to you is, wait a couple of days, maybe someone in here knows what to do and will tell you about a solution. If nobody answers, then maybe you should just get your DVD to a repair shop. I don't think it'd cost too much, since I don't believe it's a big problem in the first place, and secondly because DVDs have become so cheap these days, so how expensive could fixing one get??!!Good luck, man.
  21. Sorry for double-posting, but I forgot to include the URL of the Bazooka tool. Here it is... http://www.kephyr.com/spywarescanner/index.html I wish a moderator could merge the two posts, and fix the hosting count. Sorry again for the inconvenience!
  22. I've tried a good number of anti-spyware programs, and my personal favourite is a small tool called Bazooka. Yes, it's not point-and-click like the other, higher-profile software but I have yet to see a spyware, adware, or trojan that it doesn't detect. The catch is that you have to eliminate the malware yourself. When Bazooka catches a malware on your system, it points you to its deletion instructions, which are detailed and organized so that anyone - not necessarily a techie - can do them. The morale of this story is: if you want a comprehensive malware removal software, and if you're not intimidated by playing around your registry and doing things yourself, then go get Bazooka. But if you don't have the urge or the time, then by all means, install BOTH AdAware and SpySweeper. The emphasis here is on BOTH. You'll get exceptionally decent results.
  23. Well, Pat, it depends on many factors, really. For example, you haven't told us which formats does your DVD-ROM support (e.g. DVD-R, DVD+R). I admit this shouldn't make a difference, when I deal with a problem, I like to know all about it.Also, have you tried different DVDs, ones that had been working before? Did you install some new software after which your DVD-ROM started acting up? Just try to supply us with as much information as you can.I don't think your drive is dying on you. You said it played a regular CD just fine, didn't you? This greatly reduces the chances of drive failure; although this may have to do with the laser beam itself. But I really can't tell you anything for sure without more information. So I'll be around and hopefully I might be able to help.
  24. Lovely motto, Saiyan! Thanks for dropping by, man. I've seen your name around in the little time I spent here. Glad to know I'm making friends already.
  25. Yeah Virii, it's another step. And personally, I HATE other steps, since I'm so freakishly lazy. But I suppose this Website is not meant as a permanent thing, it's just - like you said - cute. Some sort of an entertaining trick. But about them bringing Google more traffic?? Lol, it's like an indian teaching Budha about Nirvana.
