Favorite Os? What is your Favorite Operating system

I like Ubuntu the best. Its a free Linux distro available from shipit.ubuntu.com.Kubuntu, a sister/brother project, is good too. But a bit slower. -
I wanted to use Linux for a long time. But not having used any other OS than Windows I didn't know what to do. None of my friends know anything about computers to give any instructions. So, I went to Google. Their I found many distros - both cheap and free. What impressed me most was Ubuntu. Not only because of its user-friendly-ness but also because you can get it delivered right at your doorstep free. From: https://blog.canonical.com/2011/04/05/shipit-comes-to-an-end/ It has great community support and can be used as a dual boot with Windows. You can access all your Windows content in Ubuntu and even run Windows software with Wine. All Ubuntu software are freeware. A main thing you will need with Ubuntu is an internet connection as all software will have to be downloaded. Note: Ubuntu supports most dial-up connections and modems now.

The Best Media Player Which is your best media player?

I have been using Winamp for a long time. Main reason being it can be skinned very easily. This was very important for me as I wanted to stand against Bill Gates by modding my Windows XP. But, now I am using Linux which does not run Winamp. So, I like VLC Player now. (Will try xmms player too - heard lot about it). -
I learnt my C++ from books. Introduction to Object Oriented Programming with C++ by Robert Lafore is the easiest one (in my opinion). It takes you to the OOP level very quickly. Unlike other books I have read, it made OOP really easy to understand and practice.
