  1. The site looks wonderful, but I don?t like the colour scheme. As i said to you before, it brings back feelings of the dreaded annoying parked domains. But looking at the design it is nearly the exact of an classic parked domains layout. The site would look a lot better, if the header graphic could be changed and the blues could be made a tiny bit darker. And the logo at the top left should be changed. This is just my opinions, others might be different.
  2. Ok first of all, i have read through all the Firefox tune-up tutorials on the site, and none of them have mentioned on how to make Firefox load faster like IE. So i thought i should make a easy tutorial on it. REAL EASY WAY: Download Firetune: FIRETUNE And you will know what to do, just muck around with the software?s settings. COMPLICATED BUT TECHNICAL WAY: And second of all, all those who are still using IE (Microsoft's infamous Internet Explorer) get Firefox. Why you may ask, read this: FIREFOX vs. IE. Have you ever noticed on how fast IE loads compared to Firefox? That is because XP preloads IE on its start-up. After some research i found that Firefox developers have chosen not to tie up system resources before they really need it, but if you want it to load fast it is possible to achieve that by doing the same thing as what IE does. 1. Put your Firefox shortcut onto you start menu. Easier way of doing this is if you have a shortcut on your desktop drag it onto you start button on your button left. 2. Right click on the shortcut in the start menu and then 'Properties'. Find the target section which should contain something similar [ "C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox\firefox.exe" ] , add '/Prefetch:1' next to the address (without the inverted commas). SO the target box should contain what is in the square brackets as follows [ "C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox\firefox.exe" /Prefetch:1 ] Now by doing this Windows XP should preload Firefox on its start-up, so Firefox loads as fast as IE. --- I thought about making a tutorial on changing the about:config settings but seeing all the tutorials already available, my topic may be considered spamming. Notice from BuffaloHELP: Additional articles on making your Firefox run/load faster: Speed up Firefox & Make Firefox run faster & Make Firefox faster & Firefox tricks to boot faster
  3. Just somethign that i recently noticed, when i installed the Tranformation pack, the process explorer.exe took a hell of a lot of ram. about 100mb at times. I'm not sure if it is caused by the transformatuon pack or not, but it went away when i changed back to the classic windows appereance.Usually Themes and Appereance changes do slow down the perfomance but i never seen it to that extent. (This was on other computer, a crusty one)
  4. Just a quick note to dilipdaniel and others with doubt. 'Longhorn' was a code name for Vista. Before we knew 'Vista' Microsoft refered to the new Windows as Windows Longhorn.
  5. haha Xisto wont let you down, well i move to their paid hosting now, and everythings going smoothly =)Edit: had to remove site address, as supercamel mentions below
  6. Remember Pac-man? The old school computer game, where you had to go around eating cookies while avoiding the ghosts, well it is back. I saw this on a TV show here, and i decided to do a bit of research on it. The game is back in virtual reality At Singapore?s Nanyang Technological University, they?re already playing tomorrow?s computer games. Using a wearable computer and headset the real world around you becomes a virtual gaming experience. In the game they have developed, you are in the real world with animation embed within it, so you run around eating the animated cookies..and avoid the ghosts which are real people! It is very sus, looks boring. But imagine if that?s what they have created now what will be coming out in a few decades? http://www.beyond.com.au/
  7. (If you mean sessions as a user) nar...when you do it..it affects the System folder, it changes the system files to change the GUI. There is only one SYstem folder not a seperate for each user. But you can change the theme on user to user. Like have your Dad's usings Windows XP, Your mums using Classic Windows and yours using one of the Vista Packs. Also when you change it it changes the boot screen and the log on screen.SOmething else i want to mention, i tried Vista Transformation back of a Chinese OEM XP computer, and it screwed it up. But the problem was easy to fix, i just had to find another chinese version of explorer.exe and replace it on the screwed comp.If you do use the Vista Transformation Pack, use a program like Style XP to change the bootscreen to a better version.
  8. talking about copying Xisto, you would be surprised on how many low level cheap rip of sites that have copied Xisto. I haven been to few websites, which offer free web-hosting if you make several posts and so on. OpaQue should sue them, make money that a way .I did more research there was this guy who started a similar forum like this, well not with hosting, just a forum it was on GTA Vic City Mods/Hacks. And a organization bought it for 40K. This was on a blog, codenamevice.co.uk . Imagine, a simple forum with busy traffic made 40K, Xisto owns 2 VERY busy forums. A profit making web hosting site. And upcoming Banner Exchange projects. If OpaQue does sell it, and if some one does buy it. He would be a bit wealthier than he is now. A bit more than a bit. But as everyone said, OpaQue would never let us down.
  9. OK, first of all i dont want OpaQue to sell Xisto. And i know he wont. This just came into my mind while reading a recent topic by OpaQe.How much would Xisto be worth? When sold, considering the advertisements and the size of the community, how much would it be worth?I'm no businessman and i have no idea or even a guess how much the business would be worth.
  10. This is the funniest to me Do you mind if i use these on my site?
  11. Oh, let?s get this straight; I'm not a huge fan of the game. I just play it for the sake, and i like busting crimes.I saw a poster in the game saying True Crimes: Streets of LA 'The Movie' fall 2007 in True Crimes New YorkTo find that poster, load or start a game (True Crime NY City, so this should be in the main office. Go out of the building using the main door, not the elevator. Go out, and walk right few blocks now you would be in the main area of Wall Street. Look around HIGH; you should see a poster saying That TRUE CRIM STREETS OF LA, THE MOVIE IS COMING OUT FALL 2007.As i said before I'm not a huge fan of the game, but I'm not saying it is a crap game, it is alright above standards. But yes, I'm looking forward to the movie. Wonder if they are going to base it on the game's storyline.
  12. I find it is a lot easier to use Google, all you have to do is go to google.com, add the search terms and BAM there you go Google dos its magic tricks and gives you the results. Where as in Scroogle, you have to go to scroogle.com, then <- snipped -> Scraper, and then search. That?s one extra step. I'm kind of a lazy man. I don?t mind the ads that Google puts on. Sometime it is entertains, and most I don?t notice them. And also Google you have to option to "Cached - Similar pages" which some times is useful. There are probably more, but you get the idea.The only thing i like about Scroogle is that, it displays all the results on one page. I like that, but if Google does that. And there was a term which has thousands of quires it might take a very long time to load, and a very long page.Also I don?t like the layout design. It basically drives me off the sight. Where as Google?s layout looks very simple and professional. Plus they change the images every so often, like now for the FIFA World Cup, this keeps me wanting to go on Google to see if they have changed the images.So no, I don?t use Scroogle.}
  13. I think Nintendo Wii is goind to be the same. They are based on having fun, not hardcore gamers like us. It is designed for use by the whole family. I personally want to give it a go. Bot that i will buy it or anything, I'm more of a HARDCORE gamer. Only like the professional games. But Nintendo Wii will give a good feel of what you are playing.Have a look at the E3 video. on gamespot.com/ It is about 130mb but it is worth it.
  14. I have already made a topic, on it.Yeah or you can alsowii.nintendo.com/
  15. Yeah i'll give it a go, but i'm a bit scared at the moment. I just read some reviews on Vista Transformation Pack. And some of them said that when they tried uninstalling it they had problem. And it wrecked their computer. And they had to reinstall windows. So i'm a bit Conscious about it. If you already triede it and it worked good. Plaese post back about it.
  16. I remember the day when you first got Photoshop, i was know as daman back then, we were talking on MSN and you got all excited over it. You showed me few sites like good-tutorials.com and so on, and look at you now, you have improved a lot. you are a big kid now and you have to leave. I will hopefully continue chatting with you on MSN, i tried everything, i know you name but i just cant find you phone number , you gave me clues but yep.It is sad to see you leave SM, hope your studies goes well. And you get a good job for what you love doing, GFX. , Anyways mike Adios Amigos
  17. You could try google videos, but yeah i dont want to go into depth it is illegal
  18. lets go buy some grog and celebrate, dammit i'm too young. Anyways, lets all go to Saint michaels house to celebrate, so whats your address ? I have been here for a year and 2 months i think. yeah something like that. I joined t17 4 days before my birthday.Someone should make a Invision skin for Xisto's birthday. Change the look for that day, and change it back. Only some problems. The time zone, dont you just hate it.HAPPY BRITHDAY
  19. Here is an image, it took me a lot of effort to untwist my webcam, and take a picture. I used a torch to lit it up. I couldnt find my camera
  20. It is not colour coded, there are just five holes, and the RCA (the yellow, red, and white cables) cables dont fit into them. So yeah, i searched everywhere on the net, i found similar threads to this one, buy with no reply. I thought Xisto people are smart so i made a topic here.
  21. i think Windows Vista Beta is going to be like Widnows Live Messenger Beta, i got it, and it look really cool. But after few months it wouldnt work and asked me to update. I did, and they changed everything i didnt like the new look. The same might happen to Vista Beta.
  22. I have to agree with Chez, I did like Halo 1 better than Halo 2, just in the campaign section. I do enjoy playing Halo 2 multiplayer and in live and System link ups.I can wait, the trailer they showed at the E3 wasn?t very good, as in they didn?t give you enough detail. I heard they are going to releasing it on the same date as when the Play Station 3 comes out. It is a great marketing strategy.I can wait, and yeah I?m a Halo Fan so I enter the thread
  23. Yeah this is what i was asking about. Thank you, I found this tutorial very useful: http://forums.xisto.com/no_longer_exists/ That was what i was asking, and the other bit the screen resolution, for example, this site Invision Forums, when you view this on a monitor of 1600 x 1200, and 800 x 600, they both look the same. The header goes from the full left to full right. But when you view sites, like Google (just as an example that everyone would know, plus they dont tend to make it like that). The size looks different on each monitor. I would like to know if there is a script which makes the size bigger according to the screen resolution. One more thing i looked at the tutorial closely, it requires Dreamweaver, i do have itbut i do most of my coding at school, and they dont have it, is tehre any other tutorial which dosnet use Dream weaver?
  24. On the back of my monitor there is a second input selection. It has R G B HD VD on it. What is it? Can my xbox or any other devices be connected to it?
  25. And it also adjusts to Screen Resolution (this dosent matter, but if you know can you please tell me)
