  1. I did mean what I said, which would have meant the Michelin runners would lose time driving slow around the outside of the corner. Given the fact that part of the conditions to placing a chicane on the track was that they [the Michelin drivers] were to start at the back of the starting grid and also not collect any points for the race where ever they finished, I don't think it would've made much difference. The idea was to have something that resembled a race, and not just six cars on the track.Anyway, it is all over and in the past now. The next race is on this weekend [back in Europe, I imagine] and it will be interesting to see what has transpired in Formula One since the Indy debacle.
  2. Although all the talk is about whether Formula 1 will return to the Indy track. There have been rumblings around F1 for quite a while even to the extent that only Ferrari have signed up with the FIA to continue racing for the years to come. Where as the other teams, especially manufacture teams [like BMW, Mercedes, Renault] are looking into a 'breakaway' racing league after being disgruntled with how FIA is running the whole F1 'show'. Also the FIA are trying to cut costs even further, which could also include going back to one single tyre manufacturer, which then asks the question if this debacle may have hurt Michelin in the future. As for putting out a yellow flag, I'm not sure that would be a better option than a chicane as it would hold up the other Bridgstone runners just as much. I was thinking they could have placed a line along the middle of that turn 13 and let the Bridgestone runners take the racing line in the inside/bottom of the curve and the Michelins could drive slow around the outside/top of the curve and they would've all merged together nicely into the main straight.
  3. I did watch the US F1 race and was very disappointed about what all happened. A lot of the blame for what happened should go squarely on the guys at Michelin for bringing tyres to the race that were obviously not upto the standard of racing on such a circuit. As you say Shadow, they tried to fly over some new tyres to race on, but this goes against the new rules by the FIA that the drivers must race with the same tyres that they qualified with. Michelin said that it would let the 14 drivers race, if they could slow the cars down though that turn (#13). Those teams tried to get a chicane placed there but the FIA would not allow it either. So some of the blame can go to FIA and Bernie Ecclestone for not trying to come to some agreement to allow the Michelin drivers to race, but the fingers should really be pointed at Michelin for bringing the wrong tyres. The situation was almost laughable when the two Ferraris (the only two 'real' racing cars of the remaining six that started) nearly collided during the middle of the race who were in 1st and 2nd place by a clear margin over the other four drivers.
  4. Although I admit I have no idea how the 'hosting credit system' works, could it not be possible to work it in with users editing posts. For example, if a user edits his post by deleting parts of the post, they have the corresponding difference of post length taken off their hosting credits. This could also be scaled so that if the post length has only changed slightly [eg. fixing typographical errors] that there is no penalty of points, whereas if a user tries to 'cheat the system' by making wholesale changes [as Dooga mentions above], there could be a greater penalty added. On the other hand, if a user wishes to add more infornation to a post, to avoid abuse, there would be no change their hosting credits. Pros: Users can edit their own posts and will not get any benefit of hosting credits. Will create a much nicer looking board without double posts or moderator notices. Cons: Having no knowledge of the workings of the credits system, this idea could be difficult to implement. I have 'tinkered around' with previous versions of Invision, and would gladly help if required.
  5. Or we will never be compatible.
  6. Plus, this jacket looks real cool.
  7. I can see the point of trying to run a 'business' here, that these posts may cause insecurity in members or prospective signups. But, I think posts like these would be somewhat beneficial to other users. I agree that all members should know the rules of keeping your hosting active by reading the ToS and other documentation on Xisto - You have to accept the rules before signing up, but how many people actually read them?? When I signed up, I found some of the documentation to be repetitive and also contradictory on some points. I'm not sure if things have been updated since then though. I wondered myself what all the fuss is about getting your account suspended, so [just for fun] I haven't posted much lately and today I find my account has been suspended. Along with my negative credit amount, there is the following information. The last two statements seem to be conflicting, but I assume that I need the 4 credits before the 'system' will consider resuming my hosting account, but I am allowed to go under that [more than 3] by the time the 'system' actually restores my account [at least one hour upto a few hours later].
  8. My favourite foods would have to be pasta and anything with cheese. Hmmm... pasta in cheese sauce... Hmmm. Also - nuts like peanuts, cashews, etc...
  9. Freaker - You are right about the media coverage of the Corby case. There has been a lot said about how Schapelle is a young, attractive female which is getting her a lot of news coverage. Like you say, compared to other people that have been caught in the past for similar crimes, there is a huge imbalance. But you have to remember, that there will be greater coverage of Corby due to her conceived innocence here in Australia.Re: 'Bali Nine'. I really think my life, your life or anyone else's life is definately worth more than AU$10,000. A very stupid idea, indeed.
  10. Off the topic slightly, but still about drug smuggling...I see the so called 'Bali Nine' made the news again today, where a few of the accused were forced to re-enact the alleged scenario of trying to smuggle heroin out of Indonesia at the Bali International Airport. What are other user's thoughts on these people? It seems to me, that they are guilty of the crime with video footage being taken with packages being removed from thier bodies by the police. Should they face the death sentence by the Indonesians? I'm leaning towards that they should. Given the climate of the Corby case being almost at it's peak at the time of the nine being arrested - I think it is quite clearly a stupid thing to do, notwithstanding that it is illegal and down-right stupid to smuggle drugs in the first place.
  11. I'm glad someone came along and backed me up... :PI do believe the the 50,000+ blocks is just a warning to tell you if you are running out of storage on the Xbox hard drive. I have heard stories of people filling up thier hard drive by ripping music CDs to the Xbox, although it would have to be 'quite a lot' of CDs so I have heard.
  12. As I mentioned somewhere else around here before, the WindowName portion of the open call should only contain alphanumeric characters (A-Z,0-9) or underscores (_). eg. "edit_av" should be changed to either "edit av", "editAv" or similar... Also, as Tyssen and MarCrush suggest, the comma separated list of WindowFeatures must not contain any spaces between options. Notice from Rejected: Changed "edit av" to "edit_av"
  13. I'm not quite sure what you guys are all on about??? The current (original) Xbox only has a 8 Gb hard drive. Although, as eluded to, you can replace the hard drive with a larger one which requires some amount of modification to your Xbox. Note: Modding your Xbox voids your warranty, and also gets into a 'grey area' where it is not condoned by Microsoft and considered illegal. Don't get confused with the 50,000+ blocks of storage that is stated under the Memory menu on your Xbox console (I never learned how many 'blocks' make 1 Gb). And yes, the Xbox 360 will reportedly be shipped with a 20 Gb hard drive.
  14. Errmmm... Back on topic. I did make a post over in the Australian section ( http://forums.xisto.com/topic/22251-schapelle-corby-drug-smuggling-to-indonesia/ - I didn't think it warranted a news report), but I can raise some other issues that I didn't touch on over on my other post. I doubt that airport baggage handlers are being used by 'organised crime gangs' to transfer illegal drugs. I'd guess that it would be small, one-off, 'friend of a friend' type of deals going on through those means. Having said that, it is quite disturbing that baggage handlers are interfering with traveller's luggage. There was a story a couple months ago about a sacked Qantas baggage handler who took a camel suit out of someone's luggage, then proceeded to wear the suit around the tarmac, who was then spotted by the owner of the camel suit while he was still boarding his flight. [ Here's a link I found on the camel suit... ]. And I wonder why people give me funny looks when I travel with large padlocks on my luggage . With this kind of past history, it is a real wonder why baggage tampering wasn't taken into account by the three Indonesian judges who sentenced Schapelle Corby - but I guess we need an Indonesian law 'expert' to find out why the judges came up with the result the did. By the way, John_M, I'm sure you are sorry for all that mumble jumble...
  15. For the record (HmmZ ), http://php.net/manual/en/ref.image.php has all the information on using the GD library functions in PHP to create, manipulate and save images.
  16. I haven't been following the 'plight' of Schapelle Corby too closely. But we see today that she has been convicted by an Indonesian judge of smuggling drugs into Indonesia and sentenced to 20 years in jail plus a fine is to be paid.I know most Australian's feel that she is innocent, that the drugs were planted - most likely by baggage handlers, but I will say that until we get some decent facts about the case - I will not make a judgement myself if she is guilty or not. We must also remember that the Indonesian way of law is quite different to ours here in Australia. Obviously - with the evidence that has been given, you would not get an anonymous guilty verdict from a panel of jury members.Another complaint of mine, is the constant media scrutiny and apparent 'media exclusives' to the case. It's just news... not like it is a football game or something???Anyway, what do others think about the trial and the 'whole Corby saga'?
  17. I'm sure ther would be a better way of doing this, but I have an answer for you using JavaScript. Your suggested 'Page B' would contain the following <script> tag, where "a.html" is the path to your suggested 'Page A'. <script language="JavaScript1.2" type="text/javascript"><!--function NextPage(choice) { document.FormB.inputValue.value = choice; openWin = window.open("a.html", "Page_A", ""); }//--></script>then, your 'links' on Page B would be buttons in a form, where the text you want entered on the next page is in the onClick event. eg. Input for Choice 1. <form name="FormB"> <input type="hidden" name="inputValue" value=""> <p><input type="button" name="choice_1" value="This is 'Choice 1'" onClick="NextPage('Input for Choice 1')"> <p><input type="button" name="choice_2" value="This is 'Choice 2'" onClick="NextPage('Input for Choice 2')"> </form> Now over on 'Page A', place the following script, where F1 is the name of the input field (which is in the form named FormA, as shown below). <script language="JavaScript1.2" type="text/javascript"><!--function fillField() { document.FormA.F1.value = window.opener.document.FormB.inputValue.value;}//--></script>... and then you will need to add an OnLoad event to the <body> tag of Page A to transfer the value <body onLoad="fillField()"> <form name="FormA"> <p><input type="text" name="F1"> <p><input type="text" name="F2"> </form> </body> I hope this helps and solves the idea that you are trying to explain.
  18. I think what you are missing is the <script> tags as Tyssen mentioned above and you should also add the 'window' part to call the open window like all the other examples other members have given. eg. popUpWin = window.open(); Also, the opened window name ('GunBound Tactics: Screenshots') should only contain alphanumeric characters (A-Z, 0-9) or underscores (_). Although, I doubt that would be causing the problem. Notice from snlildude87: Edited
  19. Are you suggesting that, because my web hosting account was created on the first day of April, it does not count as a full calender month? Very odd indeed. According to Awstats - I had at least one visitor to my hosted website for each and every day of April, with the first visitor [of course, being me] was logged at 8am on April 1st. Personally, I would call that a full calender month of logged statistics.
  20. Yes - Topsy Turvy to put it mildly, I'd say. The Adelaide Crows giving the Saints a 'poleaxing', Richmond winning over Brisbane and Collingwood coming over the top of your (Tyssen) West Coast Eagles, all gives me zero points for tipping this round. Sometime I wonder why I even bother...What about Richmond though? I think they are having too much of those caffeine tablets that are all the rage at the moment On a serious note though, I don't think that 'elite' athletes like footballers should be taking beneficial supplements (like the aforementioned caffeine tablets).
  21. We are starting to make some sort of a communtiy here - Great! I'm sure there are plenty of other Australians around here on Trap 17, but it seems a bit difficult to attract the attention of this special 'Australian' section. Anyways, welcome aboard Tyssen.
  22. I have had my website hosted here at Xisto for a month and a half [including the whole calender month of April], where I also do not have access to the Analog or Webalizer stats via cPanel and get the same messages that eXtreme mentioned in the original post. However I am not too worried about it, as Awstats works fine and displays very good detailed reports from my hosted website. I'm just hinting that needing a full month to log may not be the answer, whereas it may be because of other factors.
  23. I voted for 2 or 3 hours as that is roughly my average daily useage of the computer - somewhere between two or three hours. Only about half for being on the internet, and the other half for doing work related stuff. None of this time is for playing PC games [that's why I have an Xbox...].
  24. I don't watch Rove Live very often - but that is because I don't watch much TV anymore. But when I do catch it, I do like the What The? and My Charader segments [the same as Fuchelle]. Mainly because of some of the funny stuff people send in to What The? are either really wierd or not that funny but Rove manages to talk it up a bit. Where My Charader is just a big laugh as it is all spontaneous and generally degrades into no-one paying attention to the game, where everyone is laughing at the poor person trying to do the silly actions...
