  1. I know there is the 'blink' property under text-decoration in CSS.eg. <a style="text-decoration: blink;">This text link should blink</a>But, this not implemented in some browsers. I know it does work in Firefox, therefore should work in other modern Mozilla-based browsers but I couldn't get any text blinking in my version of Internet Explorer 6.
  2. I don't know if there are any other Formula One racing fans hiding around these boards... But, I'm starting a current thread anyway. The third round in Bahrain saw the debut of the new season Ferrari, which was a very disappointing result for them. Michael Schumacher failed to finish the race and Barrichello managed to 'limp' to the end but out of the points paying positions. The lack of results from Ferrari and the rise of other teams like Renault and Toyota are making the 2005 season look very interesting and very worth watching (in my opinion anyway). It's just good to see that Ferrari are not having it all their way as the previous years but also interesting that the BAR Honda team are not getting enough reliability out of their cars.
  3. I don't think there is much of a 'big deal' about Gmail anymore. As someone previous eluded to, after a year of operation the amount of accounts has spread quite rapidly, so that even me (a bloke in 'outback' Australia) even has a Gmail account.I prefer the Gmail over Hotmail for all my junk email like registering to websites (no, not pornography...) because it is real easy to use. There are not loads of images or buttons and it has that basic look about it like Google in general. Also, I really like that there are no ads on the main inbox page so it loads fast, plus on each email there is only three text Google Ads on a sidebar. I hardly notice them most of the time - they are fairly small in comparison to your email displayed.I'm not too worried about the huge amount of storage offered but it is always handy to know that you don't have to keep deleting old messages all the time.
  4. I think I max out at 60 words per minute (the last time I checked). That is using the 'ten-finger' method, where I am only looking at the keyboard and hardly ever looking at the screen except to check what I have typed at the end of a paragraph or two. I know it is not the best method of typing but it is good enough for the amount of work that I do.
  5. I quite easily get sweaty hands while playing games like Halo 2 but never all over the body. Just this Easter, I went to a Xbox LAN and played Xbox games (Halo, Halo 2, PGR2 mainly) for nearly 12 hours straight with only a break for some pizza. Even playing for that long, doesn't get me worked up in a sweat.Daman: Do those 'air-flow' controllers actually prevent your hands from sweating? Do they run on batteries or are they powered from the Xbox?
  6. I only have an Xbox. I'm obviously no 'hard-core gamer' like all you other folk. The only reason I bought an Xbox was when it came a time where I had to upgrade my PC to play the latest games. It was either play a lot of money on upgrading PC or buy an Xbox which was fairly cheap and pay a bit more for games. As a result, I still have a a very low-spec PC that I no longer play games on.
  7. I have a question. Do you have to pay to use Google Adsense? I looked around the website a while ago and couldn't find an answer. Nowhere did it say you have to pay money to sign up but there was also nowhere saying that it was a free service.I'm looking at getting a top-level domain ".com" for the re-launch of my website but I am not so sure I would generate enough 'ad-clicking' traffic to cover the costs, as my website is more personal orientated rather than about one dedicated topic.
  8. I have to say that Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic was a good game.I had never played a 'RPG style' game before, and I won this game at an Xbox LAN. I thought, "I'll give it a go" because it didn't cost me anything and if I didn't like it, I'd give to a friend or something. After the first hour, I thought the gameplay was a bit slow and nearly gave up, but I gained some determination and played on. Only then to become totally engrossed in the game and playing for several hours on end [including all night].SW:KOTOR certainly gave me a different view of the RPG genre. Although it didn't convert me, I no longer think of RPG's as a waste of time, wandering around talking to and/or killing other people.
  9. The PC version of Halo came out a fair while after the initial Xbox release in 2001, so it hasn't been that long ago (Around three years, I'd guess). Lukasz, over here you will find the dedicated Halo forum - Halo subforum on Xisto. You will find all the talk about Halo/Halo 2 for Xbox and Halo CE for PC there...
  10. I think what DXDX was trying to say was that, Microsoft 'supposedly' wants to release Halo 3 at the same time as Sony launches the new PlayStation3.Also, it would be pretty safe to say that by that time, Halo 3 would be released on the next-generation Xbox (Xbox 2, Xenon, whatever it will be called).

    Music Program

If you have Audacity, then you can try to remove vocals by following the instructions on the Audacity FAQ page here - [ Audacity FAQ ]. Look at 'Can I remove the vocals from a recording?'. I had a quick go at two .wav tracks I have, and it worked okay. Not quite 100% removal of the vocals [very faint in background], but it also removed some other instruments as well. It does depend on the track you are working with though. Also, I looked up the WavePad FAQ [ link ], and it says that it does not remove vocals from music recordings
  12. My top five Xbox games, in no particular order...- Burnout 3- Project Gotham Racing 2- Halo- Cel Damage- Halo 2I'm a bit of a racing fan but I really had squeeze Halo 2 in the top five, having to leave out Midtown Madness 3.
  13. Erm, yes. I was wrong with what I posted. Thanks, cse I was thinking of the standard division operator /, instead of the modulo operator.if ( (sum/100000) >= 1 ) is true, then sum is too bigif ( (sum/100000) < 0.1 ) is true, then sum is too smallSorry about any inconvenience caused.
  14. I really have to agree with GottferDamnt. It really is a waste of time comparing different games over different gaming systems given the machine hardware [CPU, RAM, graphics] and the controls [Xbox controller or the PC keyboard/mouse combo]. I have not played Half life 2 on the PC, but all reviews I have read say that it is very good. Halo 2 on the Xbox, which I have played, is a good game also, but I think it has a few downfalls compared with the original Halo and other Xbox titles. How someone would compare the two, I would not know. Out of interest, maddog39, how do you prove that Half Life 2 is 'better' than Halo 2?
  15. I would really like post on this comment by stevey, mainly because I believe it is wrong. The Xbox was released over a year later than the PS2, which means it would have superior hardware/software [although the same can't be said for the GameCube]. After a little bit of Googling, it was easily found that the hardware side of the Xbox was far superior to the PS2 in all departments. CPU, graphics, audio, storage [Xbox has hard drive], and other stuff like the built-in ethernet port. The only thing the PS2 could have over the Xbox would be that the DVD Movie playing doesn't require an additional purchase. The remainder of your post stating that the PS2 has more games due to its earlier release etc., are valid points also given that since the Xbox launch, a large majority of games are playable on both the PS2 and Xbox.
  16. I can't give you the code for it off the top of my head without trying it myself, but you could do this... You have e = (sum % 100000);. If e >= 1 then sum is six or more digits, If e < 0.1 then sum is only four or less digits. Just a couple of if statements should do the trick. Hope that helps...
  17. Im glad that I'm allowed to put up a shop front. Here it is... . It's not the world's best, but it is my entry. I do hope some others are submitted as it is a lovely little idea - Well done. I s'pose I could do another one but I'd need some ideas...
  18. Although I'm new here, I am going to try and ressurect this forum section devoted to Australia. I've been around the forums and seen plenty of Aussies, so c'mon guys... I would like to start off about the TV coverage of Princess Mary's visit to Australia. I don't like the fact that she took upto 5 minutes or more of news coverage every night [adding that Crown Prince Frederick hardly ever got a mention]. Don't get me wrong, I think it's great that she has come back down under to visit, but Denmark is her home now - She no longer has Australian citizenship. Why make such a song and dance about it?? Prince Charles hardly got a mention when he visited, but of course, "no-one likes the royals anymore". Also the footy is back for 2005, both AFL and NRL. I'm a AFL man myself, being a southerner [Go Crows....]. Whaddya reck'n mate?
  19. The Xbox version of XIII controlled fairly well, but the cel-shaded graphics and comic book style were the best part of the game. BOOOOM!... AHHHHHH!!!!I haven't seen anywhere myself that there might be a sequel to XIII, but I do have a mate that knows a lot more about the gaming industry. He was saying something about that there should be a sequel to XIII but hadn't seen anything either.Personally, I don't think there would be one [well, they can't call it XIII 2 or XVI... ] but the 'to be continued' ending was rather odd indeed. A bit like the Halo 2 ending actually...
  20. Xbox LANs [XLANs] are the best thing out. As someone mentioned above, it is a lot more fun kicking someones *bottom* that is sitting right next to you, rather than playing over Xbox Live. I've been playing with a group of mates with Halo, Ghost Recon, PGR2 and now Halo 2 - and it just keeps on getting better. All you need is a mate with some networking gear/cables and everyone brings thier Xbox + TV. Piece o' cake.
  21. I wouldn't mind making a shop front. But, is it open to any member of Xisto.com?I'm only new, but I'm hoping to move my website to over here...[server issues...]Sheep out.
  22. I have heard several names for the next-generation Xbox - Xbox 2, Xenon, Nextbox, Xbox360, just to name a few...I know there wont be a definite name chosen until further down the production process, but does anyone have a favourite? I'm leaning more to something like Nextbox, as I think Xbox 2 or Xenon wouldn't cut it in the gaming arena.
