My favorite Bands:Dragon Force: Pure, unbridled power mixed with both speed and melody to create an almost orgasmic sound. Songs to check out: The Flame of Youth, Operation Ground and Pound, Valley of the Damned. Sonate Arctica: Recently, I've taken a real liking to these guys. They're really the pinnacle of melodic power metal, with clean vocals and piano melodies, but theres a good number of songs where Tonny Kakko can hold an amazing scream. Songs to check out: Broken, Full moon, The power of One. Bal-Sagoth: Sublime Symphonic blackened death metal. They have a very epic sound, with keyboards that create a grandiose like that of war trumpets. Songs(long titles ahead) "And lo, When the Imperium Marches against Gul-Kothoth, Then Dark Sorceries Shall Enshroud The Citadel Of The Obsedian Crown", "The Dark Liege of Chaos is Unleashed at the Ensourcelled Shrine of A'Zura Kai(The Spleadour of a Thousand Swords Gleaming beneath the Blazon of the Hyperborean Empire part ll)"Slayer: Best Slash band. All I have to say on this subject. Songs: Sound of Heaven, Raining Blood, Seasons in the Abyss.Sex Pistols: The epitome of raw, rebellious punk. This is the stuff posers claim to like, but they can't stand it. Songs: Anarchy in the UK, God save the Queen. Manowar: The finest hairy-chested, primal power metal. An epically technically bass plays over Eric Adams, who can hit the high, operatic notes that would make Freddy Mecury spin in his grave.

Even if he was more innocent than other people in Iraq, even if he killed one person, his deserved to be executed. A life for a life, seems fair to me. I think Suddam was guilty. No matter what the media brainwashes us with, I still have my own opinions.

I do not believe that UFO's have visited earth either. Everyone's trying to get famous these days. Some people make things up. Others do think they have seen something, but are just mistaken. I think the programs on these things are quite interesting, but I still think its all false. I do believe there is other life out there. They say the universe is infinite, how couldnt there by other life.

I decided that I would like to change the skin on my forum, which uses Invision Power Board. When ever I try and import a .xml file for my skin images, it dosent work. It dosent make the image files in the directory forums/style_images/Skin_name_image. It only add the directory of the name of the skin. Does anyone know what the problem may be, and how I could fix it?

One Of The World Biggest Spammers Going To Jail
Carson replied to Saint_Michael's topic in General Discussion
I dont think anyone should go to Jail for spamming. It may be a crime, but, it's not exactly a serious offense. You'd think the police would have something better to do than catch someone who spams people. It sounds silly to me. I'm not for spamming at all. I don't know why people would waste their time on something so stupid. I think that a very large fine would do, but not jail time. -
Well, I think that there are no Circles in nature. Because they have to be perfect, they can only be formed by a computer.

I used to think 110mb.com was great. But in the end, it almost destroyed my forum. I had to get away as soon as possible. Thats when I found Xisto.com. 110mb.com is good, but just don't run a forum on it. Seriously.

I also think it depends on what you need it for. But overall, I would say desktop. You may not be able to move them around as much, but you can do so much more with them. Although, I think both would be useful, for when you need to take your computer some where. Hmm...desktops for me.

Welcome zergber!I'm Carson. You like making games? I use Xisto to host a forum for developing games. See ya round. Hope you enjoy your stay on the forums.

I wish i was able to code my own forum software...I paid for an IPB license, and in my opinion it is expensive, but offers things that you would never get with free software. And they have been around for a long time too, and are quite professional. If you want better, you have to pay for it, I guess. It does depend on the person and their goals. A business or service, such as Xisto, would pay for forum software, and someone just messing around, like many do, would just make a free one.

Welcome Carnage! Xisto is a great service. I am reasonably new myself, and I can tell you there are no complaints what so ever. Also, you can get involved with the community. Perhaps you could tell us a little more about yourself? Hope you enjoy your stay on the forums.

I apologize for the double post, but I have solved the problem. I moderator can now lock this topic. The problem was this line of code here: <li class="off"><a href="http://rmxpunlimited.trap17.com/">Home<span class="bottom">Home</span></a></li>After I removed that line, the menus show up fine. Visit my forum in IE, the menus work great. Infact, I think they were designed for IE, ironically. Thank you guys for all the support.
-
Ok, thank you for your replies, but i'm still a bit confused. Here is the HTML part for the menus, from my forum. And here's the link to my forum: http://forums.xisto.com/no_longer_exists/ I'm not really sure about any of this. Sorry, I am not very experienced. If it is easier, like I suggested before, if there is an alternate drop down menu for IPB that I could use, that would be easier to use.

I am not sure if this is the correct section, but this is related to HTML. I have some menus at the top of my forum, which work perfectly in Firefox. But my members started complaining that they were not working correctly, and when I tested it in Internet Explorer, I found that only two of the menus show up, and the others show up as plain text below. Here is a screenshot of what the menus look like in the two browsers: I have thought of something though. The HTML i used for my menus was the only code I could find for to make some menus. But I noticed that this forum uses a different code, obviously, so if I knew how the menus were made on this forum, I could use them on mine and then the menus would come up properly for everyone. Thats only a suggestion... I really need to know how to fix this. According to the statistics of my forum, 47.6 % of the visitors use Internet Explorer. I will be losing members because of this. The main content is within the menus that do not show up. Can anyone help me?

It looks like no one knows how to do this. I figured it out on my own, and I will explain it here and hopefully this will help some people. In my case, I had a previously backed up database, so I had all the database tables uploaded. First of all, open PhpMyAdmin from your CPanel. In order to import data into your tables, by using a CSV file, you first must select the database, and then click on the table which you want to import the data into. Once you have selected the table, you will a row of tabs at the top. Click on the "Import" tab. Now click on the "Browse" button, and select the CSV file you want to import. In the "Format of imported file" box, the CSV radio button should already be selected. Depending on the layout of your CSV file, you may need to select the "CSV using LOAD DATA" radio button. There are other options inside the "Options for CSV import using LOAD DATA" which are Replace table data with file, Ignore duplicate rows. You should know if you need to select those or not. Then just click on the "Go" button, and the data in your CSV file should be imported into the table.

More Database problems...I need to know how to import CSV files into existing tables, in PhpMyAdmin. For example, I have a members table, which contains 220 members. Now, I have a CSV file which contains another 50 members, obtained after I last backed up my database(With 220 members). The data for the extra members have been exported in CSV form, so I need to import this data into the members table, to get the rest of the members. I also need to do this for a few other tables. I hope I can get some help with this. Thanks in advance.

I don't think I truly get inspired much. I think an effective game programmer is one that can run without inspiration. However, I don't think we are ever without it. I get a lot of inspiration from reading books though. I love to read, and I have read tons of books, all with different ideas and inspirations. Even characters actions in books gets you thinking. I also like to listen to music when scripting(Or game programming), although I really cant script and listen to music at the same time, it really is pointless.

Thank you for the welcomes.I just got hosted! The service is much better than I expected. I wish I found this site earlier. Thank you to all the Xisto staff! See you around the forums.

Actually, they do not have C-Panel. So I cannot make a back-up locally. I did find a program that may help me export my database though. It's called MyBackup, and it allows you to backup your database on your host locally. The only problem is, I cannot get the FTP settings to work properly, so I cannot use the program. Here is a screenshot of what the FTP settings box looks like: I think I can use my Xisto account's FTP settings for this, right? I use a subdomain with Xisto, so can anyone tell me the details that I need to enter? I have had no luck so far with what I've tried. It always comes up with the message: Thank you for the help.

Does This Sound Like A Virus? computer meltdown
Carson replied to Private_joy's topic in Security issues & Exploits
I would have thought you would have found more than that. One time, I found something like 80 viruses on my computer. My brother uses Linux for this reason, he cant be bothered wasting so much time with all the viruses you get on Windows. I do not have problems with viruses anymore since I installed this firewall. I use Zonealarm pro, and it has been good for me. I hope you've solved the problem. -
The car looks great so far. I would like to see what it looks like as you complete it further. I have a little bit of experience with 3d max, thanks for posting the link to the tutorial! I cant really say anything more about the screen shots at the moment, so keep us updated.
