again to all of u who chose windows, their programs can run on a mac. and just because you havent ever used mac doesnt mean windows is more organized! windows is only good because ik that if i get a virus, its on this, not my mac.and i macs, you dont need as much speed or ram, with 1.8ghz and 512 of ran, i can run faster than my windows with 3.3ghz and 1.2gb of ram.also, nol, i grew up with windows and hated every minute of it, i had so many problems. it does not matter at all what you grow up with, i started macs because they looked cool, and now my main reason is because of their functionality. so just cuz u grew up with windows, does not mean that you have to choose windows, its completely the opposite. growing up with a problematic os would and did make me switch. now i use linux windows and mac, all for different jobs.people say mac isnt organized because they have never used it. so try using one and get away from the pc. your just familiar with the pc, not the mac. windows is far less organized than a mac.

well, if your looking for starting a hosting business, i would suggest going to a major hosting retailer, i use rifehost, and buying a reseller account. its slightly more expensive, but u get everything you need and sell domains. its worth it if you have an already popular site or are willing to commit time and money to get your name out there! buy if you want to set up one at your house, that will get more expensive. to be appealing, you need the most high-tech equipment. i will tell you right now, server stations can go for $5k and thats just the server, not to mention the whole web site that you would have to script. then you have to get a special account from your isp, something like up to 10gb/s, depending on your popularity. my suggestion, stick with a re-seller account and make it easy on yourself. wait, there is one more option, renting a server or two. that, again, is costly, but cheaper than buying your own. and you still have to setup the website, which i guaruntee that unless you are amazing and php, jsp, and html, will be a pain in the *bottom*. i would definately suggest starting out by doing a re-seller account, learning more about the languages, earning more and saving, then create your own hosting business. it will be more profitable if you do it that way, because once you know what you need and how to set it up, a hosting business can be extremely profitable. take, for example, rifehost. they offer free hosting for posts (like Xisto), normal domains, re-seller accounts and much more. i would check them out at http://forums.xisto.com/no_longer_exists/ one last thing, incase you were wondering, posting for hosting is effective if you have a high traffic website because you make your money from the chances that someone will <- snipped -> so to do this, sign up for google adsense or the equivalent, sign up for google adwords, and submit your site to multiple search engines, and you should have a very profitable hosting site within a year (yes it will take that long even with a re-seller account because you must build a reputation, get users, and get your name out there) I hope that helped.}}

mac is by far the most superior to all os' out there. end of discussion. the features and support are unbeatable. and as for what tripleh13 said, you can get any program on windows to work with mac, its a little thing called bootcamp.What people dont get is that the only reason more people use windows is because OS X is for macs only, windows has deals with a billion companies (and i bet those companies would get out of those deals in an instant and sign with mac) for software and hardware and making the computer. because of all of their deals, windows was able to become successful. it was a cheap out of the box thing...Hwever, when building your own computer, windows is completely rediculous. for being able to buy the os, i am not going to pay $500 just to use a computer. so i would recommend linux there. although the downside to mac is the OS X is for macs only, it is still by far greater than both os'.For a week i was having a huge problem with my pc, so i had to rely on my make, and boy did it come through for me. the only reason i do not use my mac all the time is that i am not paying for all the software again, and i dont want to transfer it and maybe get a corrupt file on there. i would rather screw up my cheap pc than my expensive, nice, good looking mac.Price. its not even close to a debate, if your cheap and can get by with windows, then do it, i really dont care if you do. mac is more expensive, but offers better everything. my experience with mac is unhithered.And because of all of that, i offically choose mac as my offical os.

wow, i thought i had a fast internet connection. i have dsl, normaly 60-70kbs for download and much faster upload. but some people are in mbs so i feel dwarfed!

im somewhat glad i did tho, because now its pretty much empty of crap and i can start over. and boy do i love flash drives!

i would say to get a crack for flash, but that is wrong...ish. but flash would be the way to go if you are new or doing complex things. or just like the UI.

i fixed it, it involved corrut files. all is now good!

thats what i had to do. and boy did that take a dam long time. after much frustration, although good support, dell tech support finally just said i had to wipe my drive because of corrupt files and start over. i wasnt that mad seeing as how i already knew i was gonna have to do that, so i saved my important stuff to my flash drive and did so.

i would suggest buying a very large flash drive or an external hard drive then connecting one of the 2, as i see it, those are the most effective and time saving options.

i figured it out, i had some corrupt files on my comp. and it only took about 2 days of technical support from dell, however, i had to wipe my drive so that kinda sucked, but i did have my important stuff on my flash drive, so i am somewhat happy!

I agree with almost everything here that shoots down windows. they monopolize everything. although they are cheap and pretty much the most common os, that does not make them the greatest by any means. infact, i believe that almost every os trumps them because windows is too easy that a monkey could learn it, and with ease comes painfully long steps for users who know what they are doing. by elimiating that, and making the user learn, an os maker gains an advantage in all the peoples minds who actually know what they are doing.Take OS X, for instance. they were the first, and by far stil the greatest, but the only reason windows is ahead is because it was built for people who didnt know what the hell they were doing. its a completely new-user related os. and because it attracted people for being so, software companies went with windows for the most money. however, now OS X is coming back and linux is not far behind...And with linux, its an overall great os. perfect for stable users who know what they are doing. although it takes time to learn because most people are adjusted to windows, it becomes easy with use, just as windows did when you first used it (although for me, it came naturally)And because of all of that, windows was able to gather a crowd, monopolize, and dominate everything...yes everything...

alright, i have an update now. last night, started from the modem up and connected every cable to my laptop, let it run aim, closed the window, and after 5 min, it never restarted, proving that it is something wrong with my internet card on my desktop. i contacted dell custom support, and luckily my system is still under support, and today i am going to call and hopefully i will get a replacement part.

as a web designer also, although i joined an already existing company (my friends) they just had the initials of their first names, which got them KC Design. its a nice name and its short. so something like A. Villa Design or Al V. Design AV Design maybe. just look at available domain names.

i dont really know what the problem is, but like every 3 minutes my internet connects stops, then goes back up after like 3 secs. i am not sure if a cable might be faulty, my modem or one of my routers is bad. here is the stuff i usedsl provider-->modem-->dynex router-->2 computers and another router-->my wireless router-->my computer and laptopi am not sure what the problem is, seeing as just yesterday it was fine. but before that sometimes it would go out, but not as often, just like 1-2 times a week and i would have to restart my router. but now it turns on and off all the time leading me to believe that the ethernet cable may be faulty or something is wrong with the router or the modem.

OS X is my favorite os because of its looks. the functionality of it is amazing, and i comes with all that software that for windows would cost a fortune. it has so many useful programs that no matter what you do, there is a program for you. another plus is you dont really need virus software which can save you money. also, macs can run windows coded programs through bootcamp, which is a huge plus in my book.

yea, the internet is enormous, but right now i feel i have explored everything, eventhough i know i am nowhere close. what i do everyday is code, im, check facebook, email, maybe game. then im done and bored till i think of something.

so then my next concern is if i will have enough space on my hard drive. i only have 12gb left. i can clear some space but is 12gb enough. maybe what i need is help on partitioning it so i can have the shared part and then the windows and linux parts.
