I prefer nvidia. I have them myself. PciE card and it work like a charm. I have never had any problems with it overheating or getting errors and nvidia most always comes with a free game and come tools.

Well I like em.But I feel like an idiot asking this because I know what a vector image is I believe. I thought a vector image was one where there are no pixels involved. Which actually isn't possible with monitors. Is that right? But what does a vector image actually mean?

Well since I try to design everything myself I get my inspiration from other people. When I am browsing the web and I come across a site that strikes interest I ask myself "What made me stop and look at this" and "What can I do to make this same effect but make it my own". I will go to photoshop. I make most of my templates there. I find it easy to make something beautiful in that and also make it functional. Learn some new CSS and make it pretty.My style, or the style I like, is simplicity. Glossy images and a straight to the point style. I can not stand websites where I can not find what I need in a few clicks. Pictures are also a must.So all-in-all I get my design ideas from a fusion of other peoples designs and a spice of my own to make something wonderful.

I made the images universal so they only load once through-out the site. I made the news section on the top left a link to the news page. I removed all the un-needed slices/images. Added a black gradient to the background!took me a bit and some problems along the way but I improved it my my view. thanks for all of your suggestions.Any ones I passed up or any other suggestions?I also got done wit editing the forums color scheme. It now matches the website scheme to a tee. Or as good as I could get it. Now all I have left to do is change the color of the logo at the top.

Alright guys,Thanks for the nice comments.I know the largest issue is the images. One thing I am thinking about doing to reduce it is making less of them, or coarse, and maybe trying to bring down the size (kb wise) by turning down the colors.As for the forums. I will end up changing the style to a orange and black. I have it already made but I have to edit it so I don't lose my mods.I will try to bring down the size of my banner(you guys mean memory wise right?), does anyone know the easiest way to do this with a png? I tried making it a gif and removing the matte but it just doesn't look the same.Again thanks for the comments.I will post back when I can get around to changing it up more.

Well at my house we have the net on a comp. I made for my parents upstairs. Well I have been bugging them about putting it down in my room and they finally agreed. So I had to gather some equipment right?So for my parents computer it is so old it doesn\'t have a on board nic. So I had to find one from my comp. part stash downstairs and copy down some model numbers. Install the nic...SO MANY CORDS! Then find the drivers...Took forever! We were using usb to connect it before from the modem.Two short ethernet cables!*check*One fifty foot ethernet cable!*check*Router!Er....WAIT!I thought I had a router so this is where the story begins!I set-up the network correctly in a star topology.Ethernet cable from modem to \"router\"Ethernet cable from \"router\" to Parents computer.Ethernet cable from \"router\" to my computer.Ok....well the net would on the parents but not mine. We reset to modem repaired our connections, then mine would work then not hers.Lol that was fine with me but she didn\'t like that.For four hours straight I was trying to trouble shoot.Well, finally windows decided to tell me that there was a IP conflict with another system on my network....er...WTH!Well now I was catching onto our problem!What I actually had was a workgroup hub, not a router. Hubs/switches can connect computers and share resources. But a hub cannot assign seperate IP addresses to different computers on the network. Hence my problem. So I had to order one last night. $20.50 was the cheapest one I could find with some good reviews.So I just thought I would share this lovely information with you guys!Oh, and by the way. When I am on my parents computer and surfing the net is seems soooo slow! We have highspeed and it bugged me! Well if ends up it is my parents computer slowing it down. On their computer it is connected and 10mb/s mine says 100mb/s. Pretty good difference!I am not complaining. I don\'t want to install another nic.Fun times eh?

Those are some really good sites. Some of them I won\'t use just for the fact that I might not use CSS in certain sites, or something like that. But the search sim and the checkers are really good. Thanks for the great info!

Well I have always been confused on the answer to this. The fact is that DSL is a \"direct\" line from the company. If you live close to the company then you are in luck, if you aren\'t then it is not a good option. Cable and broadband. I really don\'t know the difference I think they both use a cable line though. But with cable there are different speeds that can be purchased through your provider. Faster is more expensive of coarse. But if I were to chose between those two at their highest speed at the same distance from the company, that cable wins.I don\'t know this for sure though. Thanks for letting put my penny in.

Well I say call her. But maybe not a movie. A coffee date or something. Get to know her and from that little meeting you should be able to tell if you like her any at all. If you do then make another date. Maybe this one a movie. Who knows but if you don't like this girl don't do anything stupid. Call her back and try to tell her that. If you don't she might just end up getting mad and egging your car! lol. But seriously. If you don't get stuff like this often you may like the outcome.Try it out!

Well I found out how to fix it through google searching.When I uninstalled the mod. I went back to the lang_main.php file and deleted what I added in. Well in that file you can not send any information before the session is started (Line 6 I believe)When I deleted the text it left blank lines at the bottom thus changing the line numbering. All I had to do was get rid of the blank lines.This is also true with any other errors similar to mine.So for future reference direct people with a similar error here.Thanks for trying to help guys! (It was a sidebar mod btw)

I tried to install a mod. Did it successfully but didn't like the end result. So I went through the install backwards and reverted everything back to how they were. Now I am getting this error. It appears at the top of the page above everything. I went back into the lang_main.php and made sure everything was how it was. I couldn't find anything wrong. I don't know if it has anything to do with the mod. It shouldn't, I just thought I would mention that it happened after that. Anyone know how to fix this error? I tried changing the permission on the file. Didn't help anything. Thanks

One is one I think everyone is getting. I tried to submit a support request but it says I have to define a language. I click the button and I get a WHW error or something. Then it redirects me back to the main page. Then at the bottom of the sumbit request page is says that this feature has not been set up by a admin yet. I think everyone is getting this one. If so please say you are or if I am alone. This one I just got on my forums and it is the first time I have gotten it. I don't know if it was just a error or if it is related to the above one. Sorry if this is redundant.

I agree cPanel X was good. But I would rather not get mySQL errors as much as I have been getting them. Whatever they can do to fix that I welcome it. Even if it means going back in Cpanels.

Well this problem has been solved after countless hair pulling moments!Here is what I did to fix it for anyone else with the problem.Opened my forum database in phpmyadmin. did a search for "damendaman" since my old host was "damendaman.my-php.net"Then I found all of them and replaced them with my new host!Thanks for all of your guys help!

Well darn!Now it seems whenever I click the link to the ACP it goes to my old forums ACP...because I still didn't take it down. But it says it is going to direct to the right way when I hover over the link....Anyone think that it is something in the old forum's database that I copied that left the old links the same or something?

AWESOME!Thanks a bunch.All I did was delete the old database and users. Made a new database and a new user. Put in all of the info and it worked. Another thing I did was leave the domain localhost. This shouldn't matter because it is on my account.Thanks again!!

*edit*Ok well the original problem has been solved.I have installed phpBB2 on my new how here. Transfered all of the database files over. On my new forums all of the old posts and everything shows up right.The problem is when I click the "Go to administration panel" at the bottom it links me to log into my ACP on my old forums. It changes the url and all. If I hover over the link it says that it will be directed to the right way, the way I want, but it doesn't.Does anyone know anyway to fix this?

I am moving my phpBB2 forums from my old host, my-php.net, to this one. I have full access to my old forums. I was wanting help on this to make sure nothing goes wrong. My forum members and I can not risk having to lose all of our current information.So what I am thinking I have to do is.Export my forums mySQL database with phpmyadmin.Import it into my database here on this host.Move the forum directory to this sites ftp account.Change the root directory in my forum settings.I know there has to be some things I have to change right? Some files or other settings? I really need to be sure of this before I go messing around.Thanks
