  1. There you go, that's me.. I took maybe ten to fifteen minutes on this graphic, wasn't to difficult to do. Comments are appreciated.
  2. I have to go with Saint Michaels signature, it blends well and has some decent lighting to it. Also the effects on it are pretty cool, I think the image could use a bit more contrast though.. Or well, a lot more contrast. I just don't like Truefusion's signature, I'm not trying to bash him but I just don't like the way it looks. Seems to plain and simple for me, no effects really and the text is simple.Saint Michael: 3TrueFusion: 1
  3. The new layout looks pretty cool, much better then what you had previously, lol.
  4. I usually just do photo manipulations with pictures of people, this time I decided to try and make one with a landscape. I added the car, ray of light, and just gave it that dark eerie feeling.
  5. I think forums are good to have. It's a place where you can meet up with new people and chat with them, get support or help if your having troubles. Sure there's always that pedophile or two but hey, there will always be them. I don't think they are a waste of time, that's just a stupid question. If I had to guess why they were created, um.. I'd guess.. So people can get fast support on questions they might have or so people can just go around and talk with others. Yes, they are much MUCH better then guestbooks, no brainer. I know lots of good forums, I visit quite often. Firstly there's Xisto here, they offer great webhosting for just a couple of posts on their forums.. More then fair exchange in my opinion. I know a couple of general chat and graphic forums that are nice to go to. Also I have a Star Wars role-playing game that's fun cause you can pretty much let your imagination run wild. As for your last question, for meeting new people and for support.
  6. I remember when I unwrapped my Nintendo 64 on a late Christmas Eve night, I fell in love with it right then and there. For the time being, the graphics of the system were excellent and there were quite a few good games for the system (Ex. Mario 64, Zelda Games, Mario Kart etc.). I also liked the design of the controller, it was something new and different from the regular SNES controller I was use to. However like stated above, the bad thing was the joystick wouldn't stay new and nice for very long. Especially if you really used it a lot and liked messing around with it. I think I went through three to four controllers. I'm diffently a fan of the Nintendo 64 platform and think it really did help and revolutionized gaming at the time. Also, cartridges pawn! Cd's get scratched up to easily, sure they won't get scratched up if you take care of the properly, but who wants to do that?
  7. The outcome looks pretty cool, nice job on the tutorial! I hope to try it out sometime and hopefully get a good result as well. Thanks for posting it up.
  8. Haha, that's a nice render you did. Edges look smooth and I like the fact that you rendered out the center.
  9. Even though userbars have been whored out your tutorial is pretty good loooking. Seems to be very well detailed and is sure to help some people out who are new to userbars. Also, just as a note for those who like to do userbars, using the font visitor BRK1 at size 10 looks really good on userbars. Nice job on the tutorial sylenzed.nuke and I hope you make some more to post up. Thanks for posting htis one.
  10. I think if you didn't cover up the sides of the Spiderman as much as you did and you could see him a bit more it would be better. However the tutorial is excellent and the ending result looks excellent as well. Nice job on it and I hope to see you post some more tutorials up soon.
  11. The outcome is pretty smexy and unique.. I like it. I may have to try this next time I do a large piece or just a signature in photoshop. Thanks for posting it up.
  12. The ending result is a bit er, wierd? It kinda looks like a leg with tentacles to me,lol.
  13. Happy birthday to Xisto! 3 years, that's quite a while. Im' sure that Xisto will keep growing as the years go on and become the best free web hosting one could ask for.
  14. I use to use phpbb on my site but I just had to many hassles with it. The easymod isn't so easy and rarely works for it. I've only successfully installed EasyMod once before and it did no good, I can't remember what I did but I think I got the same error as you. If I can remmeber I'll be sure to let you know.
  15. The layout you used is pretty sweet but yeah, like nol said it lacks a good title and content. I'm sure your just starting it now so I'm not to concerned about them. Sites looking pretty cool.
  16. Tutorial Name: Jack Sparrow Signature Created by: ~Xtreme~ Program used: Adobe Photoshop Notes: A friend of mine made this tutorial a while ago and said I could repost it. I think its a good tutorial and helps those who are still getting new to photoshop. This tutorial is copyrighted to him and shouldn't be reposted by others unless you have his permission. Today, you will be learning how to make a signature like this one. 1) First start off by making a new document. I will be using 340x125 and place yoru stock in your empty canvas. Resze if needed. The left side of mine was a bit plain so I copied part of my stock and moved it. 2) Now make a new layer and go to: Image > Apply Image Now take your smudge brush and smudge around the outside of your main focal point. Now set this layer to lighten at 100% opacity. 3) Next make a new layer and do apply image again. Then use the following filter: Filter > Distort > Ocean Ripple Play with the settings and erase parts covering your character. Set this layer to lighten and between 40-50 opacity. 4) Make a new layer adn apply image again. This time just smudge around until you like it, just not over your character. Leave this layer on normal and 100% opacity. 5) Now take a c4d and put it in one of hte bottom corners and blur it. Then duplicate that layer and move the c4d to the opposite corner. Leave both of these layers on normal and 100% opacity. 6) Next take a nice effect c4d and wave it. Place it where you think it looks best and erase parts of it. 7) Now add a black and white gradient map. Set it to multiply and around 40% opacity. Then add a purple and orange gradient map and set this one to soft light around 30% opacity. 8) Okay, now make a new layer and take out your splatter brushes. Pick two colors that go with your signature, brush on your signature with both colors. 9) Lets add some lighting now. Make a new layer and take a 100px soft brush and brush white where you want your lighting to be. Lower the opacity until it looks good. 10) Now add a ccolor balance and I used the following settings: 6 -2 12 11) Now take your rectangle marquee tool and with it, set it to a fixed size. Make the size 10 width and whatever the height of your signature is. Select a good part of your signature and go to: Edit > Copy Merged Now paste it three times and on each layer go to: Filter > Distort > Wave Hit randomize until you like it and place these three layers near your character, now blur each one of the layers a little bit. 12) Make a new layer and apply image one last time. Now go to: Filter > Blur > Guassian Blur > Around 2 px. Set this layer to lighten and erase parts that don't look good. 13) Now add a couple of photo filters, some text, and a border. Then you are finished. This is a pretty neat and easy filter tutorial for signature. Hopefully it will help people out.
  17. Tutorial Name: Avatar Tutorial Created by: W.B Yates Program used: Adobe Photoshop Notes: A friend of mine made this tutorial a while ago and said I could repost it. I think its a good tutorial and helps those who are still getting new to photoshop. This tutorial is copyrighted to her and shouldn't be reposted by others unless you have his permission. Its really helpful for learning how to make avatars. In this tutorial you will be learning to make an avatar like the following. http://forums.xisto.com/no_longer_exists/404.png 1) Okay, to start off, get your stock and sharpen it once. Then take your blur tool at 25% and go over the skin. 2) Next take any texture. I chose the one above and put it under hte stock layer and then set the stock layer to soft light. Then go to the texture layer and erase the part that covers your focal point. 3) Now get another texture andp ut it on top of the stock layer and erase everything over the focal point. Then just set it to soft light. 4) Now get a purple gradient like the one above and place it on the top. Set hte purple gradient to soft light. 5) Now get a orange gradient like the one above and set it to linear dodge at 25% 6) Now get a pink gradient like the one above and set it to soft light. 7) Now get a yellow gradient liket he one above and set it to multiply at 20% 8) So its looking pretty good but now were only half way done. Now you have to make a new layer and go to: Image > Apply Image Set this layer to screen and lowe rhte opacity down to 50% 9) Fill a new layer with #093756 and set it to exclusion. 10) Now get a pink gradient like the one above and set it to soft light. Duplicate that same layer and lower the opacity to 25%. 11) Now remember that time you applied the image? Well go back down and duplicate that layer and move it to the top. Now duplicate that lyaer and change the setting to soft light and move the opacity to 100%. 12) Now get a starry texture like this one and put it on top. Set this to screen. Now duplicate it and go to: Edit > Trasnform > Vertical and then Image > Rotate Canvas > Horizontal 13) Now take your rectangle marquee and go around the focal point in a long rectangle. Make a new layer and go to: Image > Apply Image Put a 1 pixel stroke around it in white. Now you can move it somewhere on the side the face is on. 14) For now hide the rectangle layer and make a new layer underneath the rectangle layer. Apply the image in that layer and go to: Edit > Transform > Horizontal 15) Take your rectangle marquee out and make two rectangles on the top and bottom with a color from the avatar so far. 16) Now using white make vertical marquees but not covering your stocks face. *Note: This should all be under the hidden layer 17) So now you can uncover your hidden layer and go above it and make a new layer. Make a white border around the enitre avatar. 18) Now rotate the canvas so the white rectangles are horizontal and not vertical. Go to your font and click Ctrl+T for the font pop-up. The font should be put to "Times New Roman". Make the size 2 and in the box beside AV should have 800. Then at the bottom click the TT icon and the icon that looks like a T with a 1 beside it. Now just start typing. You should have one line of tiny text on each white part. 19) With the canvas still rotated type whatever you want in "Anglo Text" at 36 wtih the AV set at 200. All the icons you had selected before should be unselected. The text should be mjore on the opposite side that the box was on. Now hide the "Anglo Text" and make another layer. Apply the layer and unhide the "Anglo Text". Now on the new applied layer press Ctrl+G. With your cursor tool move hte layer until you get a cool design on the text that you like. 20) This is the final step. Take this texture or any other light texture and set it to lighten. I erased that part that interfered with the focal point. VOILA! The avatar is done! I hope you learned from it and enjoye dit. I'd like you to remember you don't have to follow this tutorial to a T mixing it up and using different opacity's and settings is a good idea. If you need any help with it just stop by Gemz Shining Forums and send me a pm! I've done this tutorial before and its not as hard as it may seem to look to be. The only tough part is the text which you don't really need to follow. I think this is going to help a lot of those who are new to photoshop and avatars.
  18. Tutorial Name: Mario Signature Created by: Tidus Program used: Adobe Photoshop Notes: A friend of mine made this tutorial a while ago and said I could repost it. I think its a good tutorial and helps those who are still getting new to photoshop. This tutorial is copyrighted to him and shouldn't be reposted by others unless you have his permission. Tidus's Second Tutorial This is the ending result that you should get after you have completed this tutorial. 1) Okay, the first step is open a new document thats 385x115. You can use whatever size you want but I prefer using this size. Fill the layer with black. 2) Next step, I made a new layer and filled it with black again and I did the following: Filter > Render > Lens Flare and got this. 3) My next step that I did was that I took out my render and resized it to a good size for my signature. I placed it in a good direction then I took out a chalk brush and added the the following settings: Size Jitter - 100 Roundness Jitter - 100 Angel Jitter - 100 Minimum Roundnexx - 5 Scattering Scatter - 118 Count - 1 Count Jitter - 10 I just smudged the edges lightly and this is my outcome so far. 4) Next I added the original render layer on top like so. 5) Next I added a nice color c4d render and changed the blending mode to screen. *Hint: Try find a nice flow for your c4d and erase parts you don't like. 6) Then add another c4d render on screen and erase parts you don't like. 7) Then I added a nice green c4d and set it to linear dodge. 8) Next I made a new layer and took out a hard round brush. Then I just made circles over the signature were places looked empty, then I took out my smudge tool with the settings from earlier. Then smudge them a little then I used the following filter: Filter > Distort > Wave and then Filter > Distort > Ripple Then I set the layer to soft light or you can use overlay. Then I dupliced that layer and moved it around some. 9) For the next step I added a gradient map. I used harmonies one gradient map then set it to multiply. I then added another gradient map of the same harmonies one gradient and set that one to soft light. *Note: I used the first gradient in the harmonies gradients its the pastel lookin one. Then I added anot her gradient map, this time black and white. I set it to multiply and lowered the opacity to around 50% then added a brightness and contrast layer. My outcome: 10) Next I mabde a new layer and took out a soft brush. Then I just brushed some white where I wanted some light and set that layer to soft light. 11) For my next step I made a new layer then went to: Image > Apply Image Then I use a gaussian blur at about 2 px. then set this layer to lighten and erased a little over the face. 12) For my next setp I did another new layer. Image > Apply Image and then Filter > Sharpen > Sharpen and then Edit > Fade Sharpen Fade it to 100% then I erased parts that looked to sharp. 13) The final steps just involve adding text and a border. Then you are finished. Here's my final result: I hope everyone enjoys this tutorial and that it helps some people out.
  19. That's a nice list you compiled delivi, nice job on it. There are some useful links that will be helpful.
  20. Thats a pretty nice tutorial and a good ending result. Nice job on it, I might try it out for a form for my website.
  21. That Dumbledore guy got my vote. I like the render and the odd colors and background used. Ridwan's border is horrid and I don't like the placement of the text.
  22. I burrowed this game from a friend and its a pretty sweet game. I have it on the Playstation two. It seems to have a decent storyline and easy to get into, controls are fairly simple to remember. The game also has some cool creatures, weapons, and effects in it. Only thing I don't like about the game is that there is no co-op mode for it, only multiplayer where you face off against each other. I'm personally a co-op gamer and was a bit sad lol when I couldn't find a co-op section for me and a friend. Other then that though, its a fairly good game. Has anyone else played it before?
