I am definately addicted to using the computer, i want to be a programmer when i grow up, so i use it a lot, dont think i dont have a life, but i use the computer a lot, and i think its going to be one of the jobs that is going to be really requiered in the future.

Well, first of, i agree that Bill Gates does nothing but get richer, he makes like $100 pero second or minute, i cant remember. It is still a lot, and he doesnt even do ANYTHING, for example, visual basic, a programming language that in a way Microsoft created, is not good at all, tons of flaws, but for some reason ppl still use it, although, we also have to admit that he knew how to make money.But with $40 billion, if i had that amount of money, i would invest a lot. He doesnt even need nearly as much, and then they are selling windows Xo for like $100 bucks or $200, its a rip off. but well thats business.

well, i dont know excactly what "Boot/ Display Fallback" means, but i am pretty shure that the 0 and 1's mean that it is on or off, if you know about binary youll understand, maybe if you figure out what "Boot/ Display Fallback" you might understand what the computer is doing, and might be able to fix it manualy, also like somepeople said: What is your OS!

I originaally used CuteFTP, but then at some point it stopped working, then I got WS Ftp pro, and dreamweaver MX, and i tryed connecting with both of them and it still gives me an error! What can i do, because it is really anoyi8ng having to load from the normal file manager.

HDD are not the most expensive things these days, you can probably get a 120gb if its in sale for $40-$50 bucks, but if you dont want/have that money, you can allways do what Galahad says, just put it on a friends pc and you can just scan the files with a virus software, although it is possible for an important update of windows to not install correctly and mess up a file in your sys that is neded to start the OS but, that another thing.

ok, well yesturday i was building my website and i had been in the pc for about 6 hours, well, i was using cuteftp to upload files, but now cutefto doesnt want to connect to my website for some reason this error appears: STATUS:> Getting listing ""... STATUS:> Resolving host name xcite.trap17.com... STATUS:> Host name xcite.trap17.com resolved: ip = x.x.x.x. STATUS:> Connecting to FTP server xcite.trap17.com:21 (ip = x.x.x.x)... STATUS:> Socket connected. Waiting for welcome message... ERROR:> Control connection closed. well i substituded the actual ip for the x's. but i was wondering if there was anything i could do about it.

Well the disk could be completely corrupted and you would have to reformat it and install the operating system again, but i dont think that is the case with your system. Well a way that i have done to xtract files from your pc, b/c something similar has happened to me. But well first you need, another HDD lets call it [2], and you need an operating system running on it,you need both HDD's plugged in into your computer, preferably the HDD[2] has to have the same OS as the other HDD, then run your OS from your HDD[2], then your OS will hopefully detect you other HDD, then you can probably access the files and copy them to your HDD[2] and then just re-install your OS in you HDD[1] and you can copy the files back from [2] to [1]!!Hope this works for you, if you have any problems, e-mail me or PM.

I was just wondering if anybody knew anything about Windows LongHorn, like when is it going to be released, because i do not want to buy a new computer processor if its not going to work well with windows LongHorn.

One thing to point out aboutthe two processors is that you see intel's processors usually run at a lot more higher speeds that the AMD, but if you use an AMD you can actually notice that the comuter will run smoother and faster, than with Intel.

Overclocking has two really big cons,[1] the problem with overheating, wich can be overcomed, [2] the computer works in cycles, and information is decoded in cylcles. Imagine a that you have a class that you have to attend to from 11am to 12pm, if you get there at 9am and leave at 10pm you got there too early, or if you get there at 1pm and leave at 2pm, you completely missed the class and the things that you were going to learn. One of the biggest problems for the people that do overclocking is that they might have a serious problem with their computer and they might not even kknow it. If you are overclocking your computer, you may notice that if you leave you computer on for long periods of time the computer will start overheating, losing information when transfered from the processor, to the different paarts in the hardware, it will run slow, there will be delays when opening and running programs, so therefroe forcing you to reboot. Well its not to scare you or to have yous top overclocking your machine, i have mine overclocked and it has been like that for about 8 months, and i havend noticed anything bad, but i might not know about a flaw that it might have.ps. any questiong, e-mail me or PM!

i personaly dont like those speakers, i have altec lansing, they are cheap, the sound is really good, and they came with a sub, so it is perfect, i also have never used dell speakers so i dont know how they sound.

Well i am currently running WinXP on my system, but i want to use linux at some point, but i have tried using linux in another computer, and i couldent get printer nor mouse to work just the keybord and it was a pain, i obiously dont know how to use it, but if someone could help me out, on how to learn about it.thanx

i used to be a fan of Kazaa, but one of my friends introduced me to limewire, and since then i dont even use kazaa any more, it has no spyware, and it is so much easier to search for things, but answering you question it does work with SP2 of windows.

I have Microsoft IntelliMouse Expplorer 2.0 it has a wireless keeybord and a wireless mouse. It is pretty cool, and i dont have to be close to the computer to type, SINCE IT IS WIRELESS!! haha, well but its pretty cool...

I think it pretty much depends on what you need, if you are going to be moving the computer to place to place, then go for the laptop, but you have to take in mind that you have to charge it, and that becomes a big problem sometimes. If i was you i would go for a desktop, because you can store more things on it and it runs faster, but it is stationary. i would also go for the desktop because of the PDA, and i think those are pretty cool.

I am pretty sure AMD is not only faster but it is better, and longer lasting, meaning that its performance in not going to change in a year. It is also better for gaming, it performs better over all, and it is cheaper. So i would recomend to go with AMD!

I did try Nero at first, but it was about 3 years ago and it was too confusing to use for me, since then i have been using roxio, and now i own roxio v.6 and it works pretty well for me, it does everything i want, i think its best feature is that you can make VCD (video cd's) i dont know if Nero can do that, but you dont need a DVD burner to burn video into the CD's and it works pretty well.
