Use Godaddy.Com - while their domains aren't very cheap compared to some of the other services (they sell for around $7 per year) - their service is uncomparable and so is their control panel. You're given a terrific range of features to control your domain. I would highly recommend Godaddy to you - and I think so will others...Other than this, you can try YahooDomains also - they offer around $5 per year - but I've had serious problems with the domain I tried buying from them, ending up in the loss of the domain - I wouldn't recommend them at all. But if you want to play extra cheap, you can give them a shot. All the best

great tutorial finaldesign - but it'd be better if you didn't post the whole instruction set as ONE GIANT Image... this post wouldn't have fetched you more than 1 credit - so this goes out as an advice to all of you.If you're posting a graphics intensive tutorial, make sure you break up your graphics into small blocks - preferably according to each step, and put in a couple of lines of text explanation and then the graphics... step-by-step.. One Giant Image like this wouldn't fetch you even 1 credit... You only get credit if images are used alternately in conjunction with text.So there...

Yup.. lets not talk about a World War III. But here are some interesting facts about Neutron Bombs: Neturon bombs are supposed to be enhanced radiation weapons - one of the final kinds in the thermonuclear armory. Unlike other nuclear variants, this bomb's shell isn't made of any heavy metal like lead - it usually consists of nickel or chromium that intentionally lets the neutrons pass through. Besides neutrons are way more penetrating than most gamma particles which would otherwise be blocked by heavy metals. The fact that's relatively unknown is that neutron bombs DO produce a blast causing thermal & shock effects - but to a much lesser extent than other kind of atomic bombs. The term "enhanced radiation" refers only to the burst of ionizing radiation released at the moment of detonation and not to enhanced radioactive residues. Here's how the energy from a normal nuclear bomb dissipates: Blastâ40-60% of total energy Thermal radiationâ30-50% of total energy Ionizing radiationâ5% of total energy Residual radiation (fallout)â5-10% of total energy Since neutrons bombs are falsely envisioned to be damaging to only human life and not the surrounding habitat, they are jokingly known as "landlord bombs". Here's what an ideal neutron bomb's effects are supposed to be: Blast and heat effects will be confined within a few hundred yards. Instead a massive wave of gamma and neutron radiation are thrown out covering an extremely large area. Can penetrate heavy armors - so effective against tanks as well as soldiers in strong armors. Also can penetrate several feet down the earth. Can be launched by virtually any medium - missile, aircraft, artillery etc. The worst - tremendously damaging to living tissue - a couple of hundred-thousand times more than any conventional atomic weapon - so you can imagine the effect. Neutron bomb research is supposed to have begun around the 1970s when military scientists in the United States sought to reduce the amount of blast produced by thermonuclear devices and increase the amount of gamma radiation thrown out.The French are said to have carried out some leading experiements with their atmospheric detonation in 1967. Did you know that theoretically there can be one final variant of nuclear bombs, named Antimatter bomb - but as of now with the kind of resources & technology we have creating one isn't feasible in any way. "In nuclear terms, an explosion is still an explosion. You cannot sanitise nuclear war." - Source Unknown

Nice vhortex we're starting an opensource development tree similar to sourceforge very soon. You are more than welcome to join the projects that we'll start off there - or simply start your own project and invite people in to contribute.. whichever way You're right.. Why bother reinventing the wheel when we can come up with our own anti-grav devices

Want To Connect Computers.. For a LAN party
miCRoSCoPiC^eaRthLinG replied to nakulgupta's topic in Computer Networks
Yup all of them can connect as long as TCP/IP and/or NetBeui protocols are installed on all of them. Make sure their computer names are different though or else there'll will be a namign conflict. -
Obesity Is Not Actually As Bad Whoa
miCRoSCoPiC^eaRthLinG replied to l337 Nurse Pedestrian's topic in General Discussion
Dude whatever these people say, apart from increased risks of heart attack - as analyst pointed out, high blood pressure will be your constant companion. This in itself is not good - as it causes too much strain on your heart plus doesn't let other organs function properly. On top of that - the biggest problem with obesity is that it is AS BAD AS AIDS, if not more. Because of so much of extra lipo-padding around your cells, normal blood flow, which is extremely necessary to revitalize your cells (with oxygen & nutrients) every few minutes, never reaches the cells properly. Thus your cells, being starved for nutrients & oxygen, start shrivelling up and distort out of shape - causing them to function abnormally. Moreover since necessary antibodies cannot reach your cells in time, healing process is hampered bigtime - almost similar to immunodeficiency syndrome. This happened to a friend of mine here - who's overly obese and had to undergo a major surgery, because of a seriously infected wound. What caused this wound ? A THORN PRICK - which never healed up, but gave rise to a festering wound instead...Imagine.. and beware -
Irc Java Applet Easy Access to IRC Support
miCRoSCoPiC^eaRthLinG replied to X-Wes's topic in Websites and Web Designing
Thanks for pointing this out X-Wes. I've been thinking about implementing it for a while. I'd have gone for this other applet (unfortunately shareware) called JIRC - I used to use earlier - but this one seems better & free too Am trying it out in firefox and IE and if all goes well - we have it -
The process is extremely simple and can be attained with just one line of code. You've to etiher define a SPAN or a DIV that will respond to the mouse events. <SPAN id="span1"><a onmouseover="this.style.color='#FF7B1F'" onMouseOut="this.style.color='#000000'">Xisto Rulezz</a></SPAN> As you can see from the code, it changes the color attributes of that SPAN using, this.style.color command and an appropriate color code. That'll all you need - tweak around with the color code setting to get your desired result. You can even change the background color of the text, to give it a hovering menu selection bar like effect.

Hi guys, Here are the rules, quoting from another post of mine:
-
Just a footnote: You are ALLOWED to host mp3's at this site, AS LONG AS THEY BELONG TO YOU AND ARE CREATED BY YOU. Which in short means, as long as you've the rights over than mp3/it's an authentic piece of work created by you and it's not a copy of some commercial track, you are free to host it here and put up a link on myspace. But keep in mind, everytime someone downloads that track from myspace, the download count gets deducted from your monthly bandwidth count here at Asta. As for the rest, feel free to put whatever music up - as long as IT'S NOT ILLEGAL or an ILLEGITIMATE COPY. If anything illegal is found in your account (including Warez Software, Illegal MP3's, Pornography etc.), your account will be IMMEDIATELY TERMINATED without any notice. All the best

Okay guys - here's the problem brief. Yesterdays over 12 hours outage hasn't got anything to do with Xisto. Asta is hosted on a server named Rhino - which underwent a kernel upgrade yesterday. But some fool very conveniently managed to compile a bad kernel and replaced the original working one with it - as a result of which, the whole filesystem of that server became read-only. Hence, all those problems.. but surprisingly the hosted sites were working fine... only the board went completely down. They'd informed us about it yesterday morning - but by then the deed was already done.. so there was no way for us to put up a notice on the main asta page about our impending downtime (coz by then the filesystem was already readonly... lol) ... $hit happens But what really matters is, all's well that ends well...We're back up with full force + the page loads seem to be a little faster now - so everythings for the better
-
Can't say much about cloaking - but you might want to take a look at a couple of other posts, which contain in-depth discussions on the crawl methodology of search spiders and what they actually look for in a page. How To Transfer Files From One Computer To Another
miCRoSCoPiC^eaRthLinG replied to sunny152's topic in Computer Networks
Yup two computers directly connected by UTP cables cannot communicate - as analyst said you need a special type of cable called CrossOver - which is essentially the same as normal UTP cable used for LAN wiring - only difference being these crossovers cables have a slightly modified wiring configuratoin. This enables the computers to talk. If you've using a straight cable, then there's no way out other than buying yourself a hub - which is actually a better option, coz you get to connect at least 4-8 computers (cheapest hubs). -

Here's the more recent story: Someone had very conveniently put up the link to the post I made on the authenticity of netbux yesterday on their forums. Here's the link. The message didn't say much except pointing out the fact that they've already started getting negative reviews. Check out: http://forums.xisto.com/no_longer_exists/ What was the result ? They decided that since this wasn't a praise the post would go to SPAMMAGE ???? What kind of a attitude does that portray, I ask you ? Can't take even the slightest negative review ? How are they going to improve their service then ? I think I mentioned somewhere, that if I were them, I'd PIN that topic and strive hard enough to prove the accuser wrong. Seems like they don't subscribe to that ideology at all. Besides, once again today for quite a good bit of time, I couldn't get onto their site, because of badly tuned MySQL. For over 2 hours it kept on spitting out a "too many MySQL connections" error. See this is what I was talking about. Instead of taking my review seriously and trying to mend their flaws, they just decide to ignore and mark it as Junk It > SPAMMAGE. Lol.... Now I'm patiently waiting - and doing my searches. Since yesterday, I've built up a credit of around $1 (lol)... but what I really want to see whether the payment comes through once it reaches fifty. The height will be, if they get too bugged by my overly critical posts and decide to cancel my account. That'll bring out their real colours. I won't say a word more... Just Waiting....and Watching.... Any of you signed up yet ? Share your experiences with me...

Netbux.org : Real Or Fake ? Problems & Flaws
miCRoSCoPiC^eaRthLinG replied to miCRoSCoPiC^eaRthLinG's topic in Business Forum
It seems to be working now - I'm still checking it out. Lets see what comes out of it. Meanwhile, someone had gone to their forums and posted a link to this thread. Guess what - they moved it to their SPAMMAGE forum, because it's a negative review ??? What kind of attitude does it portray ? If I were them, I'd keep it PINNED somewhere in public view and improve my service to prove the accuser wrong. That'd have been the perfect slap-back ! Sheeeesh !! -
Adobe And Macromedia Adobe and Macromedia
miCRoSCoPiC^eaRthLinG replied to gbjack's topic in Graphics, Design & Animation
Dude that ain't happening.. If Adobe tries to choke any of the Macromedia products they are calling for trouble... The fact is none of the products of the two companies are really comparable - as in, each of them have carved their own niche. It'll be extremely stupid of them if they try to kill any of these products.. instead they should try to create something that'll allow intermingling of graphics from all these programs - and carry on the development chain for each individually. I wouldn't ever give up on Dreamweaver, Flash & Fireworks for any of the Adobe products... nor would I stop working on Photoshop. What do you guys say ? -
tatatee: don't worry about the number of posts. That was our old requirement (10 & 50 posts) - but now the requirement stands at 10 & 30 Credits which you can acquire with just a few good posts. This policy was changed recently and a lot of pages haven't been updated to reflect the changes. Happy posting

Why is your masked textbox static ? Unless you've set its enabled propety to false, why would it not let yuor user edit the values ? Besides, if you want to rip off the value in the maskedtextbox and insert it into your SQL statement, I believe you'd have to do this: statement2 = "UPDATE suratarahan SET letterDate = '" & MaskEdBox2.Text & "'" Why are you trying to read the mask property ? Can you be a little more clear about your objective - that'd help in getting a better reply.
