I absolutely agree with you in that science and technology in fact prevent humanity from evolving. Actually I'm a firm believer that humankind is devolving from a higher state. But I don't agree with you in that we have no more value than any other being or thing. Of course we are all part of a system, with a delicate equilibrium, and one species cannot survive without the other. That is from a functional point of view. But that 2% difference in the genetic code that tells us apart from other beings is exactly THE difference. We as human beings are more than just a part of an ecologic system, in fact the awareness of being part of such thing is something only us are capable of having. We're not just a bunch of cells roaming the planet whose only purpose is feeding and breeding.

I know this is a common thing now in many forums, because online business traders don't do that (Paypal closes their account if it's a way to exchange to another online currency). The main problem here is not hackers, but Paypal itself. The person that receives the money in their e-gold account can keep it there for good, no chargebacks so there's no possibility to dispute the transaction. Now the person that receives the money in their Paypal account is liable to be asked to return the money if the other person claims he was cheated, so in the end you may end up with no egold nor paypal money. Paypal has this chargeback option, and transactions are considered officially closed and terminated only after 30 to 60 days if the account is not verified. I'm not saying that this or that person will scam you, just be aware of the risks of such transactions with people you don't know. I've read in some forums specialized in egold transactions that people with e-gold only deal with verified paypal holders and they make the egold transfer only 30 days after the paypal transaction was made.

Then there shoudn't be any need for any more programmers and designers in the whole world.... Enverything that's been done, can be done even better. Maybe you're right in that the scripts you found are better than you could do. And they don't have everything anyone needs. What I need I make it myself. This is just another scripts site.

It seems that the problem is what is the concept of human life. Something is human the moment it has the "essence" of humanity. From the moment of conception, this first cell has all the information that makes up for all a human being is. There isn't a stage later on in the whole process of embryo development that changes in essence so drastically to tell exactly -before this it isn't human; after this, it is. So tampering with cells, embryos, fetus, babies, adults or elderly people is exactly the same. From all the advances and technology, I don't see any evolution or development in humankind: we may have the power to do anything, now is it correct to do it? For example, anyone has the means or the power to terminate another person's life. Does it mean that if we can do it, we have to? So if we can play with cells and genes, does it mean that we have to do it? Does it mean that it's the only way we can deal with diseases?

A True Alternative To Paypal? What And Why!
Punkcat replied to Transcendum's topic in Websites and Web Designing
Anyone who has worked with the Paypal API to integrate it to a shopping cart will tell you that any transaction can get up to 60 days to get finally closed. The transaction goes through a series of stages until the site considers it completed. From a buyer's point of view, this can be convenient as it's the source for what is called "30 days trial" or "money back" if you don't like it, all the transaction can go reverted if a claim is filed. Now from the seller's point of view, it's extremely inconvenient. Imagine you sell a piece of software that took you 6 months to develop. Now you send it to your client, he pays you through paypal. Later on he says he doesn't like it, it's not exactly what he wanted, that he wants his money back. He calls paypal and they make a sort of conciliation, but he keeps his position. Now with a fisical object in question, he may return it to you and that's no problem. But what about a service, or a software program? He can tell you that he has "deleted" it from all his PCs?? So in the end he keeps the money and the software. Imagine this situation if the buyer is from the US and the programmer from say Peru or Egypt. Which client do you think Paypal will favor? From exactly that reason I don't like Paypal- and that's the advantage of e-gold - there's no chargeback. I prefer to pay more fees, but keep my money, than pay less and have the risk to lose it all - money, time, effort, and my nerves. -
Domain Registration Who do you use?
Punkcat replied to snutz411's topic in Websites and Web Designing
I got a .be free domain a year ago, it was with ovh.com (French site). Now I want to renew it, but they don't accept Paypal or e-gold, only credit cards... It's really frustrating, and I'm looking for a new place to transfer it. Does any of you know a registrar that accepts e-gold?----------------Some days later... I finally found some great sites to register domains. One of them is gem3.com, where you can register a domain with Paypal even if you don't have a credit card associated to your Paypal account. That is a great help as most places like Godaddy ask for a merchant agreement to pay with Paypal and you are forced to add a credit card if you haven't done so, else you can't continue the transaction... Here at gem3 I asked for a domain, paid for it and in a few hours I got an email from them telling me it was all set up. The cost for each domain is $9, and although it's a bit higher than godaddy for example, it gives you the facility to pay this way. So for some it's this or nothing...I also find another great site, registerfly.com, far better than the previous one. You can add money to your registerfly account via many methods, including Paypal ( it doesn't matter if verified or not), e-gold, moneybookers, credit cards and google checkout. Then with the money on your account, you can spend it on domains, hosting, or other services. Each domain registration is $10 but it includes free Privacy whois, that most registrars charge $9, and even 1GB for your site. So I would give registerfly a 9/10 -
Man Dies From Playing World Of Warcraft Gaming? Harmful?

This is just an example of thousands of people around there that would be happy if they could just plug some sort of cable to feed them and where they could do "their necessities" and live completely immersed in a virtual reality. I picture in my mind the day something like this is invented, we'll be seeing the same image taken from "the Matrix", people living in a kind of liquid to keep the bodies alive and a whole virtual world in their minds, connected with millions in the same conditions... and what's worse, perfectly happy to live like that - choosing it voluntarily.
