Well, Once Again, I present another tutorial, this time, credit goes to Nathan Ng. Let's begin: ***TO SEE HOW IT LOOKS LIKE, SCROLL TO THE BOTTOM OF THE TUTORIAL*** Tutorial: A Realistic Sun STEP 1: Start a new document about 800x800. We will intially make it large, then scale it down. It looks better that way. - Create a new layer. - Then use the eliptical marquee tool, and while holding down shift, create a circle selection. Make the selection almost as big as your canvas. STEP 2: - Fill the selection with black. - Now go to Filter >Render >Difference Clouds - Press CTRL+F two more times to reapply the filter. STEP 3: Then go to Image> Adjustments >Levels. Move the center and right slider towards the left, something similar to mine below: STEP 4: Now go to Filter >Sharpen >Unsharp Mask Amount: 500% Radius: 3.0 Threshold: 15 STEP 5: Now go to Filter->Distort->Spherize: Amount: 100% Then Filter->Distort->Spherize again, but this time: Amount: 50% STEP 6: Then go to Image >Adjustments >Color Balance Apply the following color levels: Shadows: +100 | 0 | -100 Midtones: +100 | 0 | -100 Highlights: +70 | 0 | -15 Also, you can use the Hue & Saturation to colorize your sun. STEP 7: Now sharpen the image again. Filter >Sharpen >Unsharp Mask. Amount: 300% Radius: 3 Threshold: 15 CTRL+D to deselect Finished! You should have something more or less like this: ALSO: You can add in Stars from my previous tutorial, and then makea lyaer glow to get this effect: I hope you enjoed this tutorial. More tutorials to come soon. If you have any questions or comments about this tutorai, please PM me. -whyme

Hi! I'd just like to teach you guys how to make a "Space" Scene in Photoshop 7 or CS. I"m not sure if it'll work on the older versions, but you can give it a shot. I hope this will be easy for you guys to understand. (I hope it's not too long )- whyme ***TO SEE HOW IT LOOKS LIKE, SCROLL TO THE BOTTOM OF THE TUTORIAL*** ---The Image Hoster that I'm using is kind of slow right now, so the images may take very long to load. Tutorial: A Space Odyssey - By whyme STEP 1: OK, to begin, you will need to create a new Photoshop Image (Duh ) I chose a 480 x 680 size, depending on how big you want your image to be. STEP 2: Now, select the Paint Bucket Tool and fill the enitre canvas with black, if you don't know where to find it, see the screenshot below. STEP 3: You should now have a big black thing. lol, anyways, here's where the fun starts. Go to Filter >Render >Lens Flare and see the screenshot below, and set it to those values, depedning on how bright you want your "Giant Star" to be, you can move the values around and play around with the settings. STEP 4: Now that you have the "Giant Star", it's time to add in the meteorites, click on the brush tool. Then click on the little pointing-down arrow thingy next to the brush. Then, click on the Triagnel pointing outward, with a circle around it, then a list will pop-up, select wet-media burshes. Then change the textbox withthe "px" thingy to 194px. Finnaly, you need to select the right brush, It's the one i've circled in red. If this is too complicated, look at the sreenshot below, (if it's still too complicated, please pm me.). Now that you've selected it, move you mouse/cursor over to your image. you should see something like this: That's your "meteor" brush, now, you can click it around everywhere, and it creates some what relaistic metoers, just rmeber not to DRAGGGG... the bursh. Just ~'click'~ Now, you should have something like this: *OPTIONAL* (It'll look better ) STEP 5: Your almost done! Now create a new layer, and call it "star2", and fill it with black. just like in the beginning. Then, Click, Filter > Noise > Add Noise, on there, a box will pop up, you should fill in the values as follows: Amount:20 Distribution: Gaussian Monochromatic: Checked Note: The more "Amount" you set, the more stars where will be Now, you open your Layers Palate, and set your values to "Softlight" and Opacity @ 80% , like so below: Why all this? - Now, this "star2" layer, will basically darken your image and add a blur, so it looks more realistic. Finished! You should have something more or less like this: I hope you enjoed this tutorial. More tutorials to come soon. If you have any questions or comments about this tutorai, please PM me. -whyme

Mozilla Or Firefox since you all seem to hate on IE
whyme replied to spawn_syxx9's topic in Websites and Web Designing
I'm amazed that no one has mention Opera, but, oh well, Anyways, Firefox is much better than Mozilla, becuase, for one thing, it's currenltythe newest verion of the browser that the mozilla team is releasing, this means that the coding and other features are most up-to-date than the other ones. -
There are many websites which you can register your domains from. A very popular one, which registers about 70% of all the United States Domain is called NetworkSolutions @ http://www.networksolutions.com/. They offer domain registration for roughly * dollars, Another popular domain risgter is go daddy @https://de.godaddy.com/. They are currently offering domain regitration for 3.95 per/year, and lastly you can go to register.com @ http://www.register.com/, which also gives out resonable prices for registering.

I've used many blogs before, boastMachine, b2, Geeklog, and many others, I'd recommend the folowing. 1) If you want a nice simple blog, with simple posting an few set-ups, use b2, a non-graphical approach. (You can see a sample of how the blog looks like at http://www.cafelog.com/) 2) If you want a more cutomizable blog, and more features, like RSS and pingbacks to blog websites, you should use boastMachine. (Check out a boastMachine "demo blog" at http://forums.xisto.com/no_longer_exists/) 3) And finally, if you're going for highly graphical, powerful Content Management, and a wealth of features, such as Static Pages, a Download Page, Mulitple posters, Categories, and highly customizble interface, many themes, and skins, you should use Geeklog, the one that I use now. (You can see how it looks like by seegin my GeekLog blog at http://forums.xisto.com/no_longer_exists/ ) Hope this helps.

Funny site I came across today, and thought I'd shared it with you: The Newest Case of Online Begging or (Donating?). Anyways, this high-school student seems to have had enough of windows, and set up a website asking people to donate money for him to buy a Mac Mini, http://forums.xisto.com/no_longer_exists/. Heh Heh, I donated $3, seeing that he's suffering so much..

How Many Want To Buy A Mac Mini/ipod Shuffle?
whyme replied to whyme's topic in Science and Technology
I do not believethat Mac has a copyright protection feature, unlike sony, which reuires all of it's mp3 players to use the Sonicstage app and doesn't give you a lot of options on the songs that you choose. However, I thing i think is bad about the shuffle is navigating from song one to song 157 How would I do that??!! -
How Many Want To Buy A Mac Mini/ipod Shuffle?
whyme replied to whyme's topic in Science and Technology
Yes, I also heard about the news of Apple products being much more expensive in Europe than in the US. Apple seroisly needs to consider thier pricing standards, and it'll hopefully bring out more buyers of Apple producs -
Well, it's been roughly a week since the debut of the Mac Mini and the iPod shuffle, and Mac enthusaists are basically scarmbling for orders of the new Mac Mini and iPod shuffle, analysts say that the iPod shuffle will dominate the faslh-based players market, and that the Mac Mini will take a somewhat large chunk of the personal computer market, I peronsally prefer the Windows OS, but as Windows seems to have so much more vulernablilites than the Macinotishes, even I'm thinking about switching to a Mac Mini. (It's only $500 ). Anyone else have the same opinions?

Defeintelty, China is a fast growing ecnomy with a desperate need in fast and reliable planes, in fact, AirBus is somewhat hoping that a mjority of it's 380 sales will go into the Asian market. A fast gorwing population, along with a high-tech boom occuring in Asia, this defeintly gives Airbus the advantage on dominating the Asain airplane market.
-
I defintely think so too, the intention of Airbus380 desginers was to create a commerical-sized plane and offer it at a low price [$240 million per plane, something i could never afford in my life time ]. They want to retake the airplane market, which is curently dominated by Boeing Airplane company, currently, their 747 is the most popular passenger plane in the world

Trap17 Special Logo As a dedication to the best hosting...
whyme replied to JaVe's topic in Art & Creativity
Speaking of pixel font, I am one of those people who LOVE pixel font! It is pretty cool, and you make it with one pixel at a time! The drawback is that it's sometimes too small and people can't read the writing. Becca likes to use pixel font, right? I think it's really effective, because it takes less space! -
Actaully, I don't see the difference... except I've heard people say something about Nike with child labour or something like that. Anyways, it's all the same type of clothing so why choose when you can just pick? (Does that actually make any sense?) I prefer adidas however, because their logo is more creative than Nike. I mean a CHECKMARK? Come on!

My friend "Dooga" refered me to this wonderful site! It's sort of ironic, because I hate posting in forums, but the packages are so good, I am starting to enjoy posting! Thank you! (Hey, this is the 40000 post of the forum! WOW!) Anyways, I think this site is cool! I love the site!~Anty (or whyme, but whatever)

Hello everyone! I only know English, and Cantonese! I am very jealous of those people who can speak four languages or something. I can speak a little bit of mandarin (it's not like you can't understand me when I talk, but it's still not very good). I can understand mandarin fine, but I guess this thread is about speaking the language!

Trap17 Special Logo As a dedication to the best hosting...
whyme replied to JaVe's topic in Art & Creativity
WOW! I love these Xisto logos! Now it's the time to add similar banners, buttons and make a whole new layout for Xisto! What about some flash intros, splash pages? You can make a whole new site for every season, holiday, or just have plain fun with making layouts! I'm not saying the current layout is bad however! -
I thought this topic would be posted a long time ago, but anyways, I think the tsunami was a disaster! Soo many people died and a lot more lost their family and shelters! I donated a few dollars and I hope everyone whos have the ability to donate should donate a few cents! I wonder how long it will take to rebuild that place!
