Hi andrescasta,It's going to be impossible to flash the BIOS if you can't get the critter to even power up the CD..etc.If the fan on the power supply is turning it's probably not the PSU. Check the "compatibility" (ie spec sheet) of the MB with the new CPU..some CPUs will fit but just won't work with certain MBs. Next, make sure you don't have a grounding short on the MB because you forgot to put the little metal MB support washers back in or installed them incorrectly. Did you use thermal contact paste to install the new CPU?? If all that still doesn't solve the problem..then it's possible that the new CPU is damaged/ defective.Hope this helpsGood luckRGPHNX

Hi Mr Zoidberg,Cool post. Welcome aboard. Do you have a parrot ? A "tolerant atheist " huh...Did you hear the one about the dyslexic insomniac agnostic..layed awake all night wondering if ther really was a DOG. It's good to have another equal opportunity jokster on the boards.... follow thr "rules" tho..cause the moderators can get a little "touchy" at times when the rules are stepped on.Again ..Enjoy your stay & make new friends RGPHNX -
Hi Ryo,I'm sure this has occured to you..but.. the first thing to do is CHANGE your cpanel password. Then DON'T TELL IT TO ANYONE. ..ever. DON'T store it on your computer.(ie. either in a text file OR by having the cpanel autologin function enabled). If all that doesn't work..Contact an Xisto admin ASAP. because its probably a server security issue.Let us all know the specifics of your problem & the resolution so we all can benefit.good luck ! Hi ps2online,The "ve-dunk" (OR "ker-chunk") sound is the drive attempting (unsuccessfully) to move the read/write arm to the correct spot over the disk. Gallahad is correct that if you could find the EXACT same drive you could (possibly) replace the PCB board & get your data off it..otherwise ...sorry.. it's probably dead for sure. For future reference.. when a drive starts to fail (intermittantly) all sorts of "weird" BSDs & lockups can happen. You didn't kill it though by re-installing drivers or re-formatting...it was just it's time to go..sad but true RGPHNX

Hi sirfrancisdrake, re: If i'm understanding your question correctly..you want to know... if when you delete a file from one folder ..does it delete all copies of the same file that might/may exist in all other folders ? The answer is NO... you must delet each file from each seperate folder that you want to be gone.Hope this is clear RGPHNX

Hi ajey,Dell's "support" from India is technically incompetant and the communication "barrier" is horrible (ie. they can't usually understand simple english). Telling you that you should have bought US "support" (because it's better) is just so much coorporate policy BS. Either a company stands totally behind it's products or it doesn't. And apparently from your experience and from my personal experience with dozens of Dell product fixes( including Latitude models)...DEll doesn't stand behind it's products. Also, asking a comsumer to disassemble the computer in an attempt to "fix" the computer is just more plain BS. If it's a new computer..then they should have accepted it back..NO QUESTIONS ASKED.. AND PAID FOR THE SHIPPING TOO !!This type of corporate arrogance & blatant disregard for customer service issues in order to save a few bucks......... really SUCKS !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!If this keeps up then DELL will have to change it's name to computers from... HELL inc.Enough saidRGPHNX

Hi BuffaloHELP,Nice post re: info...re-formatting to fix registry errors is the best (ie. safest) way but can get to be very time consuming & frustrating. For the future you might want to enhance your computers security by either encrypting & passwprd protecting sensitive data files and/or installing a keylogger program to track computer usage.Hope this is clear.RGPHNX

Hi andrescasta,From what you describe..about the only options are:> a bad wireless card(s)..test a different brand card ...OR > bad drivers.... download new ones ...OR> a program "incompatibility" (ie. missing OS program/update) ..check the cards requirements in the documentation.Hope this is clear.RGPHNX
