  1. Cool Things to do with text! By shadow skaziText is fun to play around with in Photoshop after you rasterize it. Let's look at what we can do with it after we rasterize it.To rasterize the text, go to Layer>Rasterize>TypeNow we can do stuff to the text.First, we will start by stretching and skewing text.Go to edit>transform>skew.Grab one of the anchor points and move it around a bit, try combining the movement of two anchor points. After you've done this, press enter. Yay! We've got some...distorted text. This can look nice on signitures if you mess with the blending options a bit which I will go over in another tutorial.Next up is the distort feature. Rasterize the later again and go to edit>transform>distort. This feature is kind of weird, but is useful in a way. Same thing, just move the anchor points around untill you get sort of a weird perspective look at it. Or...do whatever you want. O_oYou don't want to use these effects alot, but use them in moderation. In a sig here, in a banner there, whatever.Sorry. No end result images ._.Remember, feel free to give rep if you think my tutorials are nice
  2. Ah! The cloud effect is just a filter.Filter>Render>Clouds
  3. ...Amazing. Though, I think I'll stick with cutenews since it has a commenting system. If you come up with one, maybe I'll use yours :>
  4. Open up photoshop, and type something in black in all capital letters with font Arial Black 60px (The cloud layer is for something later). Rasterize the text later by going to Layer>Rasterize>Type Make a new layer, set your foreground color to white and grab your grunge brush (You can get one from http://www.photoshopbrushes.com/) and start brushing the later, the secret is to only CLICK once. Now ctrl+click on your text layer in the layer pallette. Press shift+ctrl+I to inverse the selection. Click on your grunge layer and press ctrl+e to merge the text and the grunge. Now, press delete. Congrats! You now have grunge text!
  5. Could you also tell us how to make a skin changer on a site? That would be very helpful
  6. This could go under the tutorial forum, as well. Good, though.
  7. Umm...it's not an actual iPod, just like in the commercials you see for them, there are people dancing around and they are all black and they show the iPod as white along with the cords to the earpeices like in this picture... http://forums.xisto.com/no_longer_exists/
  8. 1) Grab an image from http://www.istockphoto.com/ca/landing/unsupported and open it in photoshop2) Go Image> Image Size menu. Click on Resample Image and choose Bicubic Sharper from the drop-down menu. This is to make sure the image doesn't blur.3) Use your magic wand tool to select the background and invert the selection. Alternately, you could use the magnetic pen tool to select the entire body of your subject.4) Copy+paste this selection to a new canvas with a light-dark purple [#9369BF] background. (Or any other light color should do)Layer 3 will be the silhouette cutout. (Image)Layer 2 will be the colored silhouette cutout.Layer 1 will be the background color [#9369BF]5) Control+click your silhouette cutout, go to layer 2 and Go to Edit>Fill>BlackAnd now you're done! Don't forget to merge down your layers.Tips: If your image edges are a bit grainy/jagged/pixelated, you might want a gaussian blur on it with setting 0.2 pixels.Actual iPod ad colors: Blue #1379F9, Purple #9369BF, Orange #F59110, Green #9FCC39, Pink #EB5297

  10. [1] First of all, it is important that you make sure the image you wish to export is on a transparent layer. The transparent layer is a checkered background in photoshop. You can see this checkered background in the image to the left. In this example, I created a quick glass icon which has different levels of transparency. This is the image I will be exporting, whilst preserving it's transparency. [2] Once your image is on a transparent background, head to file > save for web. You can only export complex transparency using the .png filetype. So from the drop down menu, select png24 whilst making sure the transparency radio box is checked. [3] Once step two is complete; continue by saving the file. Then open up Flash.Once flash is open, head over to File > Import > Import to Stage. Then select you .png file you've just exported, and import it into flash. You will now notice that whatever you will be able to see under, or through whatever you move your transparent image over. This technique can be used through all sorts of transparencies. Be it simple shapes, or complex gradients.
  11. 5 days after my birthday and I'm really broke.
  12. First, find a picture of an actual person. Google image search if need be. Save it, and open it in photoshop. Double click the layer to unlock it and then put the layer name as 'grunge base' in the dialog box. Now duplicate the layer either by dragging it down to the 'Create a new layer' button at the bottom of the layers tab or press CTRL + J. On the first layer, the main source image named 'grunge base' apply this filter with these following settings. Go to Filter >> Brush Strokes >> Dark Strokes. Use these settings below. Balance: 5 Black Intensity: 6 White Intensity: 2 Click ok to apply this filter. (NOTE: You wont see anything yet due to the copy of the source being over the layer we just applied it to.) Duplicate the layer named 'grunge base copy' by pressing CTRL + J. Now click back onto the 'Olsen Twin copy' and apply this. Go to Layer >> Add Layer Mask >> Reveal All. Click on our layer mask and go to Filter >> Render >> Difference Clouds. Now click our layer named 'grunge base copy 2' and zoom in to about 400%. Zoom into the eye area. Now grab our pen tool and use these settings. Ok so make sure we have our pen tool selected, make sure its on 'Paths' instead of 'Shape Layers'. Auto Add/Delete should be checked. Now draw around the pupils. Once you have done this (NOTE: Doesn't have to be perfect) then right click and choose make selection. Keep 'Feather Radius' at 0 in the dialog box and click ok. Now go to Select >> Inverse or alternatively click Shift + CTRL + I. Now hit the delete key. We should now have our two pupils and the effects of the previous two layers can be seen. Set our pupil layers blend mode to 'Luminosity'. Trim around the pupils with the eraser to make them more circular. Now you are free to play around and see what you can come up with to make it more distorting. You should be done now :> This effect works well if you are creating a grungy or gothic themed website. End result...
  13. Ah, sorry...I was using CS, but it should work with 7. Sorry about that

  16. Your best bet would probably go to http://www.flashkit.com/ or http://forums.xisto.com/no_longer_exists/ it is. I dont know Just google it.It's probably your best resource for flash tutorials and resources such as sounds.
  17. Step 1 Open up a new canvas in Photoshop, make it relatively large. (400x500 should do fine) Give it a black background and move on to the next step. Step 2 Create a new text layer, and use a basic font. I used AnimeAce, Bold, 100pt. (Times New Roman looks nice, as well) Make it white, the merge the text layer with the black background. When you're done, move on. Step 3 This step requires a filter. Go into the Filter menu, then into the artistic menu. Select Underpainting, and use the default settings. When thats done, move on to the final step. Step 4 (final) Duplicate your layer, and go into the Filter Menu. Go into Blur, and select Motion Blur (with your top layer selected). Use the following settings: Angle: 0° Distance: 18 Finally, set your top layer's blending mode to Lighten. Finished! http://forums.xisto.com/no_longer_exists/
  18. 1) Make a 400x400 document. Now press "D" on your keyboard to reset the foreground and background colors to black and white. Make sure your background is WHITE. 2) Apply Filter>Render>Clouds and right after that add Filter>Render>Difference Clouds. 3) Now go to Image>Adjustments>Invert. Then go to Image>Adjustments>Levels and use these settings: Just drag the middle arrow all the way to the right Now you've got the lightning, it's time to add the liquidy-plasma effect So go to Filter>Artistic>Plastic Wrap and use these settings: 15, 9, 7 Press CNTRL+U and use these settings: 203, 100, 0 And now you're done!
  19. Step 1 Hit 'D' to reset the colors, then go to filter->render->clouds. Step 2 filter->render->difference clouds. hit ctrl+f 3 times to repeat the effect. Step 3 Choose filter->distort->polar coordinates->rectangular to polar. Step 4 Choose filter->stylize->extrude-> type=blocks, size=30, depth=30, random depth and check "mask incomplete blocks". Step 5 Filter distort->twirl with a value of 50. Step 6 hit ctrl+u to bring up the hue and saturation menu. check "colorize" and play with the settings 'til you find a color you like. For this tutorial I used 220,60,0 When you are done, it should look something like this... http://forums.xisto.com/no_longer_exists/
