Amazing device. Can be flipped and folded, and customised and stretched and worn and wow!

Featured in The Museum of Modern Art Design and The Elastic Mind exhibition, the Morph concept device is a bridge between highly advanced technologies and their potential benefits to end-users. This device concept showcases some revolutionary leaps being explored by Nokia Research Center (NRC) in collaboration with the Cambridge Nanoscience Centre (United Kingdom) nanoscale technologies that will potentially create a world of radically different devices that open up an entirely new spectrum of possibilities.

Morph concept technologies might create fantastic opportunities for mobile devices:

    * Newly-enabled flexible and transparent materials blend more seamlessly with the way we live
    * Devices become self-cleaning and self-preserving
    * Transparent electronics offering an entirely new aesthetic dimension
    * Built-in solar absorption might charge a device, whilst batteries become smaller, longer lasting and faster to charge
    * Integrated sensors might allow us to learn more about the environment around us, empowering us to make better choices

In addition to the advances above, the integrated electronics shown in the Morph concept could cost less and include more functionality in a much smaller space, even as interfaces are simplified and usability is enhanced. All of these new capabilities will unleash new applications and services that will allow us to communicate and interact in unprecedented ways.

    Flexible & Changing Design

    Morph Phone Operating

Nanotechnology enables materials and components that are flexible, stretchable, transparent and remarkably strong. Fibril proteins are woven into a three dimensional mesh that reinforces thin elastic structures. Using the same principle behind spider silk, this elasticity enables the device to literally change shapes and configure itself to adapt to the task at hand.

A folded design would fit easily in a pocket and could lend itself ergonomically to being used as a traditional handset. An unfolded larger design could display more detailed information, and incorporate input devices such as keyboards and touch pads.

Even integrated electronics, from interconnects to sensors, could share these flexible properties. Further, utilization of biodegradable materials might make production and recycling of devices easier and ecologically friendly.

    Self-Cleaning

Nanotechnology also can be leveraged to create self-cleaning surfaces on mobile devices, ultimately reducing corrosion, wear and improving longevity. Nanostructured surfaces, such as Nanoflowers naturally repel water, dirt, and even fingerprints utilizing effects also seen in natural systems.

    Advanced Power Sources

Nanotechnology holds out the possibility that the surface of a device will become a natural source of energy via a covering of Nanograss structures that harvest solar power. At the same time new high energy density storage materials allow batteries to become smaller and thinner, while also quicker to recharge and able to endure more charging cycles.

    Sensing The Environment

Nanosensors would empower users to examine the environment around them in completely new ways, from analyzing air pollution, to gaining insight into bio-chemical traces and processes. New capabilities might be as complex as helping us monitor evolving conditions in the quality of our surroundings, or as simple as knowing if the fruit we are about to enjoy should be washed before we eat it. Our ability to tune into our environment in these ways can help us make key decisions that guide our daily actions and ultimately can enhance our health.

Looks awesome, will definately buy one! Whats your comments?

  2. I do not have time to read all the comments, its late. But do not stop eating. Frankly, I eat the worst diet in the world, full of fat, carbs, fatty carbs, I just eat terribly but I am not at all fat, in no way am I fat! A good thing is to always be hyper, it tends to burn energy alot if your always in a hyper state rather than slothy and boring, you can decide, sugar doesnt make you hyper, you can go hyper from an empty stomache, although not a good idea.Weight loss is not accellerated by eating less. When you eat less, you start to eat a combination of muscle and fat, sso yes, your body is eating ur fat, but also muscle, and the less muscle you have, the less fat u eat. So just sleep alot, drink plenty of water, excercise and be full on life. And instead of reading this, get off your butt and go for a walk around your block, the next block, and the block after that. Going for bike rides with frends is good too!

  3. I used to play, and yeah it was a good game but really... better to go out and be sociable with friends (although when ur a kid sometimes u dnt always do that) but yeah, was a good game, i remember havin lots of money but i don't play it any more and never plan to lol

  4. Get unlisted from the directories, and have a fake number registered with liscense plate (or a mobile) and just when they ring up, use it as a joke, have some fun, eg."Hey babe, so, dinner at five still ok?""I hate you, why do you dump me and call me back!!??!?!?!"etc etc. Don't ask to be taken off the list, most can't edit the list (eg. a callcenter connects to a database owned by PhoneTec, and if they delete it, its deleting others property) and youll just waste time. You could be really really rude, and they possibly can leave a comment next to the number as "don't call, is a maniac"

  5. I do not like mac's and we have them at school. They are very different, and do not have as much features as windows and do not work the same. If it was dual booted, and free, i would occasionally use it. But compatibility of ganmes, and applications and everything, and the mac hardware and stuff... its just not really realistically efficient, when more stuff comes out, and its changed a bit... itl be better

  6. Okay heres my short comment about milk.First off, i HATE milk. Whenever someone heats up milk in the microwave, or even when I am making a hot chocolate and warm up the milk first, the smell of it, the smell of the warm, horrible milk just makes me want to spew. I do like hot chocolates, and iced chocolates, I just do not like the taste of milk, infact, Ice Chocolate is my favourite drink in the world, if made chocolatey enough, with some whipped cream and chocolate sprinkles and chocolate syrup!!But really, are we meant to drink milk after infancy?? Naturally, we do not drink milk after we go off breastfeeding, and when we think about it, no animal in the whole entire world survives on milk its whole life. Surely if it was meant to be drank after infancy, we would naturally drink it, and so would other animals. And cow's milk, thats just crazy. Cows are nothing like humans, they have udders with 6 teets, they are GIANT (trust me, I have some in the paddock) and we don't even have the same amount of stomaches. Surely it would be much more healthy if we milked humans, because the things inside the milk from cows are designed for calves, and we are nothing like calves at all, not the same size, not as many stomaches etc etc.I personally think that it is not a good thing to have, and i do not have it that often. It is also a possible carcinogen because of the hormones, they are very strong for our bodies to handle, and may cause cancer if had too much.I probably have milk once or twice a week, and I am happy about it.Like ma essay??? :P

  7. I choose gmail because of the simplicity, the storage and the fact that its supporting google.I am always using google, and I know that they will eventually take over the world and make mebe a slave for them :P But I still like them. gTalk will be able to do cross-platform iming sooon (probably lol)and google can offer tonnes others. Google can offer more than Hotmail, and match hotmail in every way, shape and form, so best to go with the richer company.Google4Life
