Halo 3 Commercial & Screenshot... Also New Maps
mainvent replied to TeeCee06's topic in Computer Gaming
I just hope they put more into Halo 3 single player campaign than they did in Halo 2. That game was a bomb in my opinion unless you play online. I played to about the middle of the game, but then I grew tired of playing as the Arbiter. Halo was so nice because it was such a shoot em up game. There was no sneaking around involved, just run and gun. Halo 2 got too repetitive for me. Hopefully they will inprove on this in Halo 3, but I'm not as excited as I used to be about Halo anymore. Guess I'll just have to wait and see once they release the game. -
I prefer the DS as well. I don't really judge games strictly by graphics, or whether or not my handheld can play movies and all that extra stuff. Truth is, I look more for interactive and different. DS has been much more enjoyable for me than my PSP, mainly because I have a PS2 already, and the PSP looks and play almost the same. DS metroid was a very fun game, and I can't wait until the Zelda games come out. The future for the DS is going to be nice, but the PSP will be more of the same I think.

I've been reading alot about the Halo Wars game that will be coming out. It looks really cool. I don't know much about it other than its a strategy game, but I've been looking at screenshots of it in a few of my gaming magazines. Not sure exactly how the game is going to play, but I think you control like 5 Spartans and the rest are marines. I can't wait to see what all the game has to offer.

I actually found that the MP5 at distance is all about 1 shot bursts for me. I used to take the ak47 approach and use around 3 shot bursts, but that would never work most of the time. By using 1 shot bursts, I was able to control the shots much better and hit my targets much more. I actually made a few headshots at long A from pit with an mp5, which is extremely hard for me to do. I still have no luck with TMP or anything like that, but I was able to figure out the P90 at distance. I found that doing 3 to 5 shot bursts from the waist up works fairly well. I can't make headshots most of the time, but I can still get the kills none the less. Someone let me know if these techniques work for you as well. As for me, I'm going to continue experimenting with them as well and see if I can pick up on any new weapons.

Toontown is supposed to be a kids game, but I am surprised how many older people play it, including myself. I bought the game for my sister a while back so she could have a fun kids game to play, but I found myself playing it more than she was. I don't know what it is about that game, but it seems to appeal to many people of different ages. I had to stop playing it myself, otherwise I would problably have a second life as a TOON!

Thank you for your input, however, recoil is not the case with SMG's in CS. Unlike the M4 or AK, which are very powerful at long range, SMG's tend to not be as powerful or accurate. They work very well for close range, but I can shoot all day at someone long range with a SMG and not hit them at all.

Hi I have been playing counter-strike for about two years now, but I'm still having trouble using SMG's at long range. Some of the guns that I really need some help on are the MP5, TMP and Mac-10. I play CS: Source now, but I think any tips given will accomodate Source and 1.6 players. I have seen some people who are really good in long range battles with SMGs, so there is obviously a technique to shooting them. If any of you have any good techniques or tips, please post them here. My clan scrims all the time, and usually we start them off by rushing with MP5's or something. Knowing how to use them long range will help me out tremendously.

I like the PS3. I thought the graphics are very awesome on my friends HDTV. I personally wasn't happy with the TVs set up at EB Games and Gamestop. The edges of the games were very jagged and the textures looked a little blurry. He has a 360 and PS3 connected to this 720 HD tv, and the PS3 definitely looked crisper. Graphics wise I think both consoles are going to be neck and neck, but the PS3 is problably going to always be slightly more faster than the 360. The main thing I love about the PS3 is it's processing capabilities. Lots of games on the 360 tend to have FPS problems when there is tons of stuff happening at one time. However, we were playing Resistance: Fall of Man on the PS3 with 40 people online at one time and there was not a hint of lag. The game also looked amazing, far better than anything I had seen on the 360 at the time. I think the PS3 has faster processing power, so combine that with the GPU and fast ram and you have a nice gaming system. Give all the systems time. The future holds great things for all of them I think.

I really enjoyed Star Wars Knights of the Old Republic. The story is cool and the game is really addicting. If you like star wars, you'll love the different paths you can take in the game. The game allows you to choose your own destiny, whether you want to be good or dark, depending on decisions you make throughout the game. It's not very hard to get into, and you can play it for hours on end and not get bored. The more stuff you do in the game, the stronger you become. Eventually you get to make your own custom weapons, like a double bladed lightsaber. Maybe you'll like the game, maybe not. Just depends on what you're into as far as RPGs.

Guitar Hero for me. I love getting the false sense that I can actually play guitar.

I just got my wii, and I am loving it. The game I'm currently playing is Call of Duty 3. So far I am loving the new controller for the wii. When you run, you actually feel like your running through the controller. Aiming is very fun and actually works quite well. I used to hate when I got stuck around corners in shooting games and had to rely on a thumbstick to turn around. With the wii, I was able to maneuver around corners very smoothly and am able to shoot much more accurately than before. The graphics are decent, but the wii isn't about the graphics wars going on currently. The thing they are aiming more towards is being able to interact more in games. They went above and beyond in my opinion. The wii is very unique, and is definitely something new other than the same old button smash games we've all come to love. Hopefully some of you will go and try it out, definitely give it a chance.

I'd like to live in the Zelda world. I grew up playing Zelda games. I really enjoy the game music and the characters are really neat. Whenever I woul want to travel somewhere, I could ride my horse everywhere. Also if I ever get picked on by anybody, I could beat them up with my sword and what not. It's a magical world, and being able to live in the forest from Ocarina of time would be really awesome.

Okay, I've found a glitch in Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivioin that lets you make unlimited money, quickly. I know some people don't like cheaters, but I thought I'd share it anyways. When you are searching for a cure to Vampirism, you will do a mission for a count. I'm not going to give the story details, but once you complete the mission he will give you 1000 reward. The glitch is that if you talk to him before he walks off you can still talk about the 'reward'. It is grey so he doesn't have anything new to say, but he will give you 1000 ever time you talk about the 'reward'. I just kept clicking 'a' over and over, and made 100,000 in about a minute. I didn't go into the millions becuase it would take too much fun out of the game. I don't know if you can continue to speak to him at a later date and still bring up the reward.

Selling Used Games At Eb How much money do they give you?
mainvent replied to RockinTheCasbah's topic in Computer Gaming
A while back I decided I wanted to trade in my Gamecube and all oy games so I could put the money towards my Xbox 360. I think I had the gamecube, 6 used games, and 2 controllers. I got 95 dollars including everything from ebgames. This was a lot to me, mainly because all the games I had were previously used games that i bought for less than 15 dollars each. I figure I prolly got around 50 to 60 for the console, and the rest for my games. They rteated me farily well I think. -
Yeah I agree, it's a cool idea, but there are just too many idiots who play games. I'd love for games to become much more interactive in some way though. The wii is already heading in that direction I think, which is why I'm problably going to buy one. Maybe in the future they will be able to record real life environments and implement them into games somehow.

You say you're updating your sound drivers? Normally I would remove the old drivers before trying to install new ones. There are programs such as Driver Cleaner which will completely remove your old drivers. Let me know if this fixes your problem.

It would help if you were a little more specific on what type of problems you are having. Newer games like FEAR do put a lot of stress on your video card, but I could not see where it would break the card unless your card is overheating.

My team (XMP) and I were in a scrim the other night on Dust2. I was calling all the strats for the scrim. On our first round on Terrorist side, I called a hard rush to bomb site B. I was planning on throwing a flash grenade inside bomb site B before the rush, so I already had the flash ready to go. When I entered tunnels, I made a bad throw and flashed my entire team. The CT's starting spamming us with nades and gunfire. I then pulled a HE Grenade and was about to release it, when suddenly a CT shot me in the head and made me drop the nade right inbetween my team. The nade killed everyone on my team. Later in the match, I did something very similar. We were rushing Short A and I had out my AK. When we turned the corner, the other team flashed us and hit me dead on. I was so blind that I started to spray and pray. Instead of hitting the other team though, two of my team members ran out in front and I owned them in the back of the head. That was the worst I've ever played in my entire life, and my most embarrasing moment in CS.

I have been playing CS since 1.3!! When I moved to my new house, I met a friend who lived down the street who was playing CS at the time. He let me play the game with him some, and that's all I remember...haha. I have been hooked on CS for years, but recently I made the jump to CS: Source. I love 1.6 much more than source, but lately I've been playing more source. CS is an amazing game, mainly because there's not alot to it. You get the game, you play the game. When you only have a few minutes on lunch break, you can log on quickly and frag for a bit. Talk about addiction...this game got me hooked.

I have played the xbox 360 and loved it, and I played the PS3 and loved it. Each console has its own unique qualities in my opinion. PS3 is very expensive, but once you see and play the games, it was definitely worth the price I paid for it. I also have a xbox 360, which I love for its great online capabilities. Each console will also have its own game titles that are only on those systems. Halo 3 will be coming out for 360, which is going to be really good. If you want Final Fantasy, Kingdom Hearts, etc...gotta get a playstation 3. If I had to choose between a PS3 or 360, I would definitely take the PS3 at this point. I was very impressed with the system at launch friday. I think I played the system for 7 hours straight. 360 was good, but most of the games I bought on launch were a little choppy at some points, which aggrovated me a bit. The 360 also has a lot of mediocre sports titles at this point, where as NBA Live 2k7 for the PS3 is amazing. I've never been more impressed with any sports game as I am with it.

My friend purchased 2 PS3's friday, and we played until 2 in the morning the next day. Here are your answers. When he first connected the PS3 with the default video cable, the screen was a little blurry on his t.v. The games at this point looked good, but not perfect. Eventually he figured out how to get the PS3 into HD mode, and...wow. The HD looks incredible, and yes the game graphics live up to the videos. We played NBA Live 2k7, and when I walked in on them playing the game, I really thought they were watching a NBA game on t.v. The players and environments looks amazing, and it runs extremely smooth. The other game he bought was Resistance: Fall of Man. This game will without a doubt be a Halo killer I think. The game looks incredible. We got online and played with 40 people online, and there was not a speck of lag. The graphics and multiplayer are spectacular. To sum up your question, yes the graphics are awesome. The PS3 runs a little loud and warm I noticed, but it shoul never be a problem I don't think. The PS3 has lots of cool features to it. It has internet browsing, free game/demo downloads, and he ripped a burnt music cd to the PS3 hard drive, and the sound quality was amazing. I noticed right off the bat the awesome surround sound the PS3 has. Environment sounds are really good, and the games are very sharp and crisp. XBOX 360 games looked good, but they didn't look anything like the game previews that came out a while back. PS3 lived up to the videos, and you definitely get what you pay for.

I hope there is. Yes doom 3 was repetitive after a while, but I still enjoyed the game. I think it would be cool is doom 4 was like...hell on earth or something. Maybe one demon somehow made it back to earth, who knows.

Help! Not Able To Install Half-life 2 : Episode One
mainvent replied to delivi's topic in Computer Gaming
I've never tried to install a Source game with CD's, so I can't give you a exact answer. I would hope that the CD's have a installer that you can run. If you can at least get the main files installed, you can start the game through steam in offline mode. Steam's nice to have for those games, but I totally know what it feels like to have a slow connection. You could check on the steam forums and see if they have a thread on this subject or not. -
I leave my computer running almost all the time. Occasionally I set up a timer at night to make it turn off after a few hours. Not sure if it's good or not to leave it running like that, but I do it anyways. I would imagine prolly not.
